Objective To understand the schistosomiasis epidemic situation among migrant population,so as to assess the potential risk of schistosomiasis transmission in Haining City. Methods Five districts in Haining City were randomly selected to investigate the schistosomiasis endemic situation in migrant population from the schistosomiasis endemic provinces. Results Totally 1207 persons were investigated and four positives were found in serological tests,with the positive rate of 0.33%,but no patients were found in pathologic tests. The positive cases in serological tests were mainly between 31-40 years old,with the pos-itive rate of 1.68%,which was higher than that of other age groups( χ2 = 6.590,P < 0.05). Conclusion The schistosomiasis surveillance work in migrant population still should be strengthened in Haining City.

OBJECTIVE: To observe the effects of Ginkgolides inhalation on eosinophils infiltration in airway of asthmatic guinea pig model. METHODS: Guinea pigs were divided into seven groups(n=8 in each group): model group, ginkgolides inhalation low, medium and high dosage groups(5, 10, 20mg?kg-1, respectively), ginkgolides ip group (at a dosage of 20 mg?kg-1), Dexamethasone ip group (at a dosage of 10 mg?kg-1), normal control group. The eosinophils (EOS) in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) and trachea were counted. Objective To investigate the association of two single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs),rs844648 and rs3850641,in OX40L (TNFSF4) gene,with systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE) in Hubei Han populations.Methods A total of 82 patients with SLE and 100 normal human controls were eligible for this study.Blood samples were obtained from these subjects and DNA was extracted from these samples.PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) was used to analyze the genotype of SNPs rs844648 and rs3850641.Results The frequency of AA,AG and GG genotype of the SNP rs844648 was 14.0％,55.0％and 31.0％ respectively in the controls,20.7％,62.2％ and 17.1％ respectively in the patients.A higher frequency was observed for A allele at the SNP rs844648 and G allele at the SNP rs3850641 in patients compared with the normal controls [73.2％ vs.69.0％％,x2 =4.69,P ＜ 0.05,OR =2.182 (1.068 - 4.458);37.8％ vs.24.0％,x2 =4.07,P ＜ 0.05,OR =1.925 (1.015 - 3.651)].The frequency of AA,AG and GG genotype of SNP rs3850641 was 76.0％,21.0％ and 3.0％ respectively in the normal controls,62.2％,31.7％ and 6.1％ respectively in the patients.Conclusions There are polymorphisms in the SNPs rs844648 and rs3850641 in TNFSF4 gene,which may be associated with the development of SLE.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the efficacy of short-segment transpedicular fixation combined with augmentation vertebroplasty in treatment of thoracolumbar burst fractures. MethodsFrom November 2006 to September 2009, 37 patients with thoracolumbar burst fracture were admitted and received transpedicular fixation combined with calcium sulfate cement augmentation vertebroplasty, and the clinical data including fracture types, complications and following-up results were collected for analysis. The multimethod evaluation strategies involved the anterior vertebral body height, the sagittal Cobb's angle, the restoration of nervous function, internal fixation failure, visual analogue scale (VAS) and Oswestry disability index (ODI) were retrospective analyzed. Results All patients were followed up for average 19 months (range, 14-37). There were no internal fixation failure, loss of reduction, neurological complications in all the patients. In 16 patients with partial neurologic deficits, 14 initially improved at the final follow-up, with no deterioration of neurologic functions. The mean time of calcium sulfate cement obvious absorption and union was 3 months and 5 months postoperatively, respectively. The anterior vertebral body height was 55.40％before surgery and 85.46％ after surgery on average, ended up with 82.35％. The sagittai Cobb's angle was improved from 22.45° to 6.86°, ended up with 9.66° on average. The mean VAS and ODI at the final followup were respectively 1.2 and 20.4 on average. ConclusionShort-segment transpedicular fixation combined with augmentation vertebroplasty appears to be effective in achieving stable biomechanics with high security,which seems to be a feasible option in the management of thoracolumbar burst fractures.

Objective This paper aims at establishing a inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry ( ICP-MS) method for quantification and evaluation of iodine in human urine and serum in routine clinical laboratory .Methods This study was methodology validation research on iodine evaluation using ICP-MS.Ammonia, isopropanol and ultrapure water were mixed at certain ratio to dilute samples in the ratio of 1:10, and then the diluted samples were analyzed by ICP -MS.Re was used as the internal standard.And linearity, lower limit of detection, recovery, precision, accuracy, carryover and stability was evaluated thoroughly .Results of iodine of pregnant women who required iodine tests were retrospectively analyzed to evaluate the status of iodine .Results The method only needs 30s for analysis of one sample .It was sensitive with a lower limit detection of 0.87μg/L, the correlation coefficient was higher than 0.999 9 in ten measurements.The recovery in both serum and urine was approximately 100% (95.3% -109.9%). Based on the NIST standard reference material 3668 comparison, the bias was less than 4%( -0.9% -3.9%).The inter-coefficient variation (CV) for serum iodine and urine iodine was 1.2%-3.0%, 2. 0%-2.9%, respectively;and total CV for serum iodine and urine iodine were 3.0%-3.8%, 4.1%-4.9%, respectively.The mean carryover of this method was 0.03% and iodine was stable for at least one month at -20℃ and 4℃.The urine and serum iodine for pregnant women was (154.8 ±89.7) μg/L (mean ±SD),(75.8 ±21.4) μg/L, respectively.The correlation between urine and serum iodine was 0.21. Conclusion Establishe a rapid and simple ICP -MS method for urine and serum iodine measurement with high accurate and precise in routine clinical laboratory .

Objective To observe the expression of HER-2 and TOPO-Ⅱα in ovarian epithelial cancer,analyze the correlation between their expression and provide theoretical basis for clinical diagnosis,prognosis and treatment. Methods Expression levels of HER-2 and TOPO- Ⅱα in 10 normal ovarian tissues,20 benign tumors and 58 cases of ovarian epithelial cancers were detected by immunohistochemical method, and their correlations with pathological features were analyzed. Results The positive expression rate of HER-2 in normal ovarian and benign tumor tissues were significantly lower than ovarian epithelial cancers respectively ( 10. 0% , 15.0% VS 46. 6% ;P ＜ 0. 05 ). The positive expression rate of TOPO- Ⅱα in ovarian epithelial cancers was significantly higher than normal and benign epithelial ovarian tumor tissue (53.4% vs 10. 0%, and 15.0%,Ps ＜ 0. 05 ), but we did not find significant difference in the comparison between normal and benign epithelial ovarian tumor tissue ( Ps ＞ 0. 05 ). The expression of HER-2 and TOPO- Ⅱα were significantly correlated with clinical stages, histological differentiation of tumor cells (Ps ＜ 0. 05 ) ,but there were no correlations between the age or histological type. In ovarian cancer tissues, a positive correlation between the expression of HER-2 and TOPO- Ⅱα was observed ( r = 0. 324, P ＜ 0. 05 ) . Conclusion The overexpression of HER-2 and TOPO- Ⅱαplay an important role in ovarian carcinogenesis and development. The expression of HER-2 is positively correlated with TOPO- Ⅱα in ovarian epithelial cancers. Coexpression of the two moleculars may be involved in the development and progression of ovarian epithelial cancer, which should be further studied.

OBJECTIVETo explore correlation between lung and large intestine and the two meridians under pathological condition in the view of meridian theory.

METHODSNinety-six cases of bronchial asthma were applied palpation at the running course of 12 regular meridians under the elbow and knees and back-shu points. And abnormal reactions were recorded, the affected meridians and back-shu points were discovered.

RESULTSThe abnormal reactions most frequently appeared on the Lung Meridian, followed by the Large Intestine Meridian, the Spleen Meridian, the Liver Meridian, the Stomach Meridian and the Triple Energizer Meridian. And the unusual reaction of the back-shu points most frequently appeared on Feishu (BL 13), and Dachangshu (BL 25) and Pishu (BL 21) followed as the next two.

CONCLUSIONThe existence of correlation between the Lung Meridian and the Large Intestine Meridians under pathological condition can be proved through meridian and acupoint palpation on bronchial asthma patients.

OBJECTIVETo study the effect of Guanxin No. 2 (GX2) on gene variant expression profile in rats after myocardial infarction (MI).

METHODSSix SD rats were equally randomized into the sham operated group, the model group and the GX2 group, and they received gastric perfusion with water and GX2 (10 g/kg) respectively. MI model was established by ligating the left-anterior descending branch of coronary artery after 10 days of perfusion, and rats' myocardial tissue in the junction zone was assessed 24 h later for gene chip detection with DNA microarray. Then a cluster analysis was conducted, and the different expressions of key genes were verified by real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction.

RESULTSThe up-regulating gene expressions in myocardial tissue in the junction zone increased after ischemia. After GX2 intervention, the up- or down-regulating gene expressions, especially the 2 genes, all-trans-13,14-dihydroretinol saturase (AF465614) and similar to expressed sequence AW413625 (AA799328) decreased significantly. In the common genes, more genes involving activity of signal transducer presented in the model group and the GX2 group and those in the latter showed a certain specificity.

CONCLUSIONGX2 could improve the characteristics of variant gene expression profile in MI rats to a certain extent.

Objective To observe the effect of methylene blue on the expression of liver inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) in rats with different stages of sepsis.Methods One hundred and twenty-six adult female Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups: sham operation group, sepsis group and methylene blue group, each group was again subdivided into 0, 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36 hours subgroups, each subgroup6 rats. The model of sepsis was established by cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) method, and in the sham operation group, the abdominal incision was performed and the intestinal mesentery was separated only, without ligation and perforation. In methylene blue group, 15 mg/kg methylene blue was injected into a caudal vein at 0, 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36 hours after CLP in the rats in corresponding subgroups, respectively; in the sepsis and sham operation subgroups, the same amount of 0.9% normal saline was given. After administration for 6 hours in various groups, the rats were sacrificed and the liver tissue was harvested immediately. The expression of iNOS mRNA of liver tissues was determined by the real-time fluorescent quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR),and the protein expression of iNOS was determined by Western Blot.Results Compared with sham operation group, the liver tissue expression of iNOS mRNA was significantly up-regulated in sub-sepsis groups at 0, 6, 12 and 18 hours after CLP (2-ΔΔCt: 16.66±2.81 vs. 1.00±0.36, 12.26±5.78 vs. 1.00±0.30, 6.08±1.33 vs. 1.00±0.18, 2.42±0.64 vs. 1.00±0.12, allP < 0.01), after 24 hours the expression of iNOS mRNA had no significant change; the liver tissue expression of iNOS protein was obviously up-regulated in sub-sepsis groups at 6, 12 ,18 and 36 hours after CLP (gray value: 0.350±0.011 vs. 0.210±0.005, 1.460±0.085 vs. 0.090±0.005, 0.230±0.012 vs. 0.18±0.008, 0.310±0.017 vs. 0.200±0.010, allP < 0.01). Compared with sepsis group, the expression of the liver tissue iNOS mRNA was down-regulated in methylene blue subgroups at 0, 12 and 18 hours after CLP (2-ΔΔCt: 9.90±3.06 vs. 16.66±2.81, 1.56±0.58 vs. 6.08±1.33, 1.11±0.15 vs. 2.42±0.64, allP < 0.05), and the expression of iNOS protein was down regulated in methylene blue subgroups at 6, 12, 18 and 36 hours after CLP (gray value: 0.150±0.008 vs. 0.350±0.011, 0.950±0.009 vs. 1.460±0.085, 0.150±0.007 vs. 0.230±0.012, 0.170±0.009 vs. 0.310±0.017, allP < 0.05).Conclusion Zero-24 hours after CLP, the expressions of mRNA iNOS and protein in liver of septic rats are significantly increased; methylene blue can markedly inhibit the expressions of iNOS mRNA and protein in the liver of rats with sepsis.
