Restenosis is a major complication after percutaneous transluminal coronary intervention. Evaluation of restenosis early and accurately can help to giude treatment, improve outcome and save costs for the patients. All kinds of imaging methods for restenosis have their merits and demerits. It is essential to choose the appropriate imaging method in clinical practice.

BACKGROUND: Researches indicated that bone marrow stem cells (BMSCs) could differentiated into neural stem cells in vitro, but what was the role of neural stem cells(NSCs) in the recovery of cortical injury,whether the NSC is capable of growing and migration in injured still remained unknown.OBJECTIVE: To explore the growing state of autograft NSC derived from crab-eating macaque BMSC transplanted in brain.DESIGN: Prospective case control study based on experimental animals.SETTING: Department of neurosurgery in a hospital of a military medical university.MATERIALS: This study was carried out at Center Laboratory of Neurological Research Institute, Zhujiang Hospital affiliated to the First Military Medical University of Chinese PLA. Six healthy adult crab-eating macaques were purchased from the South China Primate Animal Center.INTERVENTIONS: BMSCs harvested from six crab-eating macaques were cultured in vitro and induced to differentiate into neural stem cells, which then labeled by bromodeoxyuridine(BrdU) and autografted into brains.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Brain tissues underwent hematoxylin and eosin(HE) staining and immunohistochemical staining before observed under optical microscope.RESULTS: The results of HE staining showed that the cell number in injured brain vas obviously higher in both instant and delayed transplanting groups than sham-transplanting group; moreover cells were proved reacting to BrdU by immunohistochemical staining in cortical injuries of both groups at 1-6 months following stem cells autograft, as well as at neighboring white matters at half year later, but no BrdU positive cells could be found in traumatic controls, sham-transplanting group and normal brains.CONCLUSION: NSCs derived from in vitro cultured BMSCs were proved capable of surviving, proliferating, differentiating and migrating in cortex after autograft, so that BMSCs is considered as replacing cells or the source of NSCs; moreover autograft stem cells could survive, proliferate and migrate in old cortical traumatic focus.

AIM: To observe the effect of simvastatin on the proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells(VSMCs) induced by serum and growth factor PDGF-BB and the effect of simvastatin on the expression of PTEN,a important regulator of G 1/S cell cycle transition. METHODS: The DNA synthesis was determined by -TdR incorporation, cell cycle was examined with flow cytometry, the protein level of PTEN was measured by Western blot method. RESULTS: (1)Simvastatin inhibited -TdR incorporation in a dose dependent manner. (2) Flow cytometric DNA analysis revealed that simvastatin induced significantly enhancement of G 0/G 1 phase and decrease in S phase VSMCs.(3)Simvastatin increased protein level of PTEN and mevalonate, a metabolite of HMG-COA, reversed the effect of simvastatin on PTEN protein expression. CONCLUSION: Simvastatin may inhibit proliferation of VSMCs and retarded cell cycle in G 0/G 1 phase by increasing PTEN expression through inhibiting synthesis of mevalonate.

Objective To investigate the sedative effect of propofol combined with different doses of midazolam in patients undergoing long-time microsurgeries.Methods Forty ASA(American Society of Anesthesiologists)Ⅰ～Ⅱ patients were randomly divided into 4 groups.Normal saline(NS) 2 mL was administered in groupⅠ,while midazolam 0.01,0.02 and 0.04 mg/kg was administered in groupⅡ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ respectively.one min later,propofol was infused at a rate of 5～10 mg/kg?h combined with midazolam based on the abovementioned dosage per hour for groupⅡ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ respectively.Taking auditory evoked potential index(AAI) as a parameter,after it decreased to 40,the infusion rate of propofol was adjusted to keep AAI at the level of 30～45,and maintained the level by infusing propofol and midazolam for 5 hours.The dosage of propofol required for induction and maintenance was recorded.The emergence time and whether patients had awareness during the operation were recorded after the infusion stopped.Results At the target sedative level of AAI 30～45,the Observer's Assessment of alertness/sedation(OAA/S) score of all patients in the four groups reached 0～1.The induction period was obviously shortened and the propofol dosage was dramatically reduced in group Ⅱ～Ⅳ as compared with groupⅠ.At the stage of maintenance of sedation,the dosages of propofol in both groupⅠandⅡ were larger than those in group Ⅲ and Ⅳ.The emergence time in group Ⅳ was dramatically longer than the other groups(P

Objective To probe the most effective method for the diagnosis of early renal pelvic cancer. Methods Ultrasound, introvenus urogram (IVU), retrograde pyelography, CT, magnetic resonance urography and transurethral ureteropeyloscopy were performed, and the accuracy rate was evaluated. Results The accuracy rate of IVU, retrograde pyelography, CT, transurethral ureteropeyloscopy, MRU and ultrasound were 89%, 94%, 80%, 50%, 40% and 22% respectively. Conclusions IVU and retrograde pyelography are the common and necessary diagnostic methods for early renal pelvic cancer. Transurethral ureteropeyloscopy is an invasive method and used as a final method when other methods fail to identify the disease.

AIM: Hydroxymethylglutaryl CoA (HMG-CoA) reductase inhibitors, such as simvastatin, have been shown to reduce atherosclerotic cardiovascular morbidity and mortality by mechanisms unrelated to its lipid-lowering effect. Several studies have shown that simvastatin induces apoptosis in a varieties of cell lines including vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC). The aim of this study was to investigate the signal pathways involved in apoptosis induced by simvastatin. METHODS: Cultured VSMC were treated with simvastatin. Calpain activity was determined by measuring Ca 2+ ionophore-specific calpain substrate (suc-LLVY-AMC), caspase-3 activation was detected by Western blot, and apoptotic changes were distinguished by annexin Ⅴ binding and DNA laddering. Objective To explore the status of lymph node dissection under thoracoscopic surgery and open surgery in patients with thoracic esophageal carcinoma. Methods 16 cases of thoracic esophageal cancer received thoracoscopic surgery from August 2012 to June 2015 as minimally invasive group (group M), 17 cases of thoracic esophageal cancer with the same pathological staging received traditional open surgery during the same period as control group (group C), the number of lymph nodes and the positive rate of lymph node metastasis were compared. Results In group M, the total number of 228 lymph nodes, mean (14.27 ± 5.61) pieces, the positive rate was 12.50%; while in group C, the total number of 241 lymph nodes, mean (16.20 ± 6.24) pieces, the positive rate was 11.76%. Two different pathological staging in patients with lymph nodes dissection has no significant difference ( >0.05). In group M, 7 cases with lymph node metastasis, 45 metastatic lymph nodes, metastasis rate was 43.75 %, 19.74 % degree of metastasis; while in group C, 8 cases with lymph node metastasis, 55 metastatic lymph nodes, metastasis rate was 47.06%, transfer degree was 22.82%.Conclusions Minimally invasive surgery can achieve the same effect with the traditional open chest surgery, in treatment of thoracic esophageal cancer with high operability.

Objective To explore the effect of circadian rhythm disorder on cognitive decline and neurologic impairment after traumatic brain injury (TBI) in rats.Methods Rats were subjected to a weight-drop model of TBI,then the rat models were divided into 2 groups ac-cording to the environmental length of day and night ,namely,the whole day group (12 h light/12 h light) and the control group (12 h light/12 h dark).After 14 days,the Morris water maze test and step-down test were carried out to evaluate the memory of the rats in each group . HE staining and immunohistochemistry ( BrdU, Ki-67) were carried out to evaluate the degree of the neurologic impairment of the rats in each group.And the mRNA expressions of Caspase-3,Caspase-9,Bcl-2 and Bax were evaluated with realtime PCR .Results The memory function of the rats in whole day group was significant lower than control group ;the damage degree of the cells in the hippocampus and the cortical lesion volume in whole day group were significant higher than control group ;the cell proliferation rate and newborn cell survival rate in the whole day group decreased significantly compared with the control group ;the mRNA expression of Bcl-2 in whole day group was signifi-ant lower than control group ,and the mRNA expression of Caspase-3,Caspase-9 and Bax in whole day group was signifiant higher than control group.Conclusion Circadian rhythm disorder can worsen TBI-induced cognitive decline and neurologic impairment .

objective To evaluate the clinical application value of ileum to the S-type of suture pro- duced orthotopic neobladder.Methods Radical cystectomy and ileal neobladder with"S"shape were per- formed in 3patients with transitional cell carcinoma.Ureter implant into neobladder with embedding nipple techniques,bottom of neobladder coincide with urethra stump.Results The average operative time to form a neobladder was 5 hours,average bleeding volume was 366 ml during operation,3 cases can control urine dur- ing daytime,nycturia 1-3 times every night.Neobladder has a large capacity,low pressure,and electrolytes of blood was normal.Conclusion The construction of an ileal neobladder using a smaller part of ileum that has been completely detubularized and fashioned by S shape is easy and agreeable to perform.This mode of oper- ation has low complication rates,achieves adequate capacity at low pressure,and provides satisfactory conti- nence rates.It is a fine scheme to treat invasion and multiple carcinoma of bladder.

OBJECTIVE:To improve the system of management and maintenance for the purification air-conditioning system in PIVAS,and to further strengthen the management of cleaning environment. METHODS:The cleanness monitoring project of purifi-cation air-conditioning system in PIVAS of our hospital was introduced in terms of temperature and humidity record,pressure differ-ence record,airborne particles detection,settling microbe monitoring report. And the monitoring results were analyzed. RESULTS:The temperature and humidity,pressure difference of clean area in PIVAS of our hospital are both in line with the standard of Phar-macy Intravenous Admixture Quality Management Specification (2010 edition),i.e. temperature at 18-26 ℃,relative humidity of 40%-65%;negative pressure difference between antibiotics,hazardous drug dispensing area and second dressing room are 5-10 Pa. The number of airborne particles (average static particle/m3) at various cleanness degrees in clean area are all in line with the standard of GMP(2010 edition),i.e. maximal allowable number of airborne particles(≥0.5 μm)were 3 520/m3(100 degree);352 000/m3 (10 000 degree);3 520 000/m3 (100 000 degree). The percentage of qualified static settling microbe detection reach 100%in clean area,which is in line with the standard of Settling Microbe Detection Method in Clean Room(Area) of Pharmaceu-tical Industry,i.e. criteria for settling microbe(90 mm)CFU/0.5 h≤1(100 degree);≤3(10 000 degree);≤10(100 000 degree). The percentage of qualified dynamic settling microbe detection is in low level,especially those of dispensing room and secondary dressing room only reaches 80%. CONCLUSIONS:It’s important for effective hospital infection control in PIVAS,the quality im-provement of intravenous injection,the safety guarantee of drug use in patients to further improve standard operation procedure of purification air-conditioning system management and maintenance,and manage and maintain the purification air-conditioning sys-tem completely and scientifically.
