The facial, retromandibular and external jugular veins of the neck were studied in a total of 230 Chinese cadavers.1. The external jugular vein can be divided into six types and fourteen subtypes. Type Ⅰ(40.22%) and type Ⅲ (29.13%) occurred more frequently in this series.2. The facial vein drains into the external jugular vein in 41.09%. It drains directly or indirectly into the internal jugular vein in 43.91%.3. The anterior branch of the retromandibular vein usually drains into the internal jugular vein and it runs through the space deep to the posterior, belly of the digastric and the stylohyoid muscles in 83.70%.4. The presence of the so called common facial vein occurred only in 29.13%.5. The external jugular vein often drains into the subclavian vein. It appears in 46.57% in our observation.6. The external jugular vein crosses the inferior belly of the omohyoid muscle, when it runs downwards in the lower part of the external cervical triangle. It usually lies superficial to the omohyoid in 66.16%, deep to it in 26.35%.

Objective To evaluate the associations of human leukocyte antigen(HLA)-DQ gene with autoimmune polyglandular syndrome(APS),type 1 diabetic mellitus(T1DM) and autoimmune thyroid disease(AITD).Methods Fifteen cases of APS,29 cases of T1DM and 40 cases of AITD were selected as research subjects, while 27 healthy children were selected as controls. The DQA1 and DQB1 alleles were determined by polymerase chain reaction(PCR) and sequence-based typing method. The difference of their frequency in children and adolescents was analyzed. Results Compared with controls,APS and T1DM patients had increased frequency of subjects with DQA1*0301,0501(all P

Objective To investigate clinical significance of soluble CD30/CD30L and CD40/CD40L system imbalance in ovarian serous tumors. Methods 40 patients of serous cystadenoma and 30 patients of serous cystadenocarcinoma were selected, and 40 age-and weight-matched healthy women were also recruited as the control group.Peripheral venous blood (3 ml) of the healthy control and patients with ovarian serous tumors before surgery and 7 days after surgery were collected. After separation of serum,ELISA was used to detect levels of sCD30,sCD30L,sCD40 and sCD40L.Results Compared to the control group, levels of sCD30,sCD30L,sCD40 and sCD40L in both serous cystadenoma and serous cystadenocarcinoma groups were significantly in creased (P<0.05).And in those serous cystadenocarcinoma group, levels of such soluble proteins were much higher than in serous cystadenoma group (P<0.05).7 days after surgery, levels of such soluble proteins were significantly decreased in both serous cystadenoma and serous cystadenocarcinoma groups (P<0.05).Conclusion Detection of serum sCD30/sCD30L and sCD40/sCD40L is possible to have a certain guiding significance to early diagnosis of ovarian tumors and the prognosis of patients.

Objective To investigate and evaluate the clinical signiifcance of lfexible ureteroscopy in computed tomography urography negative patients with upper urinary tract hematuria. To improve the diagnostic rate of patients with upper urinary tract hematuria. Methods We retrospectively reviewed the cases of 10 computed tomography urography negative patients with upper urinary tract hematuria. The age ranges from 38 to 75 years old, and the average of them is 45.2 years old. The patients consist of 7 male patients and 3 female patients. Among them, 4 cases were on the left upper urinary tract cases, 6 cases were right upper urinary tract. All patients received lfexible ureteroscopy to conifrm the diagnosis and take the relevant treatment. Results In the total of 10 patients, 3 patients (30%) were diagnosed with tumors of renal pelvis, a renal arteriovenous ifstula was found in 1 case (10%), 3 patients (30%) were considered non-specific inflammation, other 3 patients (30%) had no obvious abnormalities. Conclusions Flexible ureteroscopy has significantly clinical diagnosis in computed tomography urography negative patients with upper urinary tract hematuria.

Objective To review reoperation on blood vessel prosthesis occlusion after arterial bypass graft in lower limbs. Method The treatment effect of 21 patients with reoperation on blood vessel prothesis occlusion after arterial bypass graft in lower limbs was analyzed retrospectively. Results All the cases were followed up 6-36 (12 ±3) months. The limb salvage rate was 71.4%(15/21) ,the amputation rate was 28.6% (6/21). All 9 limbs that underwent revascularization from deep femoral artery reserved. Conclusions Endomembrane hyperplasy, occlusion of the inflow and outflow tracts are the major reasons for the occlusion of blood vessel prosthesis after arterial bypass graft in lower limbs. Appropriate procedures should be based on careful consideration of the occlusion reasons. Profundaplasty is an effective therapy for those who are treated by reoperation on blood vessel prosthesis occlusion in lower limbs.

Background and purpose:It has a signiifcant effect for erlotinib on treatment of patients with epidermal growth factor receptor mutation in advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). But almost all patients will eventually progress for the resistance of drug. This study was to evaluate the efifcacy and safety of retreatment of erlotinib in patients with advanced NSCLC. Methods:It was a retrospective analysis of the 46 advanced NSCLC patients who previously treated with erlotinib and had clinical beneift. The patients were given erlotinib 150 mg orally once daily after failure to other medications until disease progression or the occurrence of intolerable toxicity. The clinical features, therapeutic effect and survival were analyzed. Results: The objective response rate of retreatment with erlotinib was 28.3%. The disease control rate was 60.9%. The rate of symptom relief was 45.7%. The median progression-free survival was 3.6 months. The median overall survival was 7.3 months. One-year survival rate was 8.7%. The median progression-free survival was signiifcant longer in the patients who stopped taking erlotinib more than 6 months than those less than 6 months (P=0.002). The median overall survival was signiifcant longer in the patients whose ECOG ≤2 than those ECOG >2 (P=0.038). The most common drug-related adverse events were rash and diarrhea. Conclusion:The retreatment of erlotinib could possibly prolong the survival time of patients who previously treated with erlotinib and had clinical beneift.
