Objective To summarize the experience of diagnosis and treatment of solid-pseudopapillary tumor of pancreas (SPTP).Methods The clinical data of 15 patients with SPTP who were treated in our hospital from March,2003 to March,2006 were analyzed retrospectively. Results The 15 cases were all women, and the average age was 29.4 years. The chief manifestations were abdominal mass, abdominal pain or other abdominal discomfort. None of the 15 cases had history of pancreatitis or abdominal trauma, and no long history of drinking or smoking. Six cases were negative for CEA,CA50,CA199,CA125 and other tumor markers.Solid and solid-cystic masses in pancreas or solid and solid-cystic tumors in retroperitoneum were found both by B-mode ultrasonography and CT examinations. Preoperative fasting blood sugar was within normal limits. The tumor in 8 cases was located in the pancreatic head, in 6 cases was in the body and tail of pancreas, and in 1 case was in the neck of pancreas. The diameter of the tumors was 2.5-10 cm. No metastasis was found in the abdominal cavity or liver. Local excision was performed in 6 cases, distal pancreatectomy was performed in 5 cases, including 2 cases combined with splenectomy, and pancreaticoduodenectomy was performed in 3 cases, segmental pancreatectomy was performed in one patient with tumor in the neck of pancreas. The 15 cases showed typical pathologic manifestation of SPTP by microscopy. At followed up for 16-52 months, no evidence of recurrence or metastasis in these cases was found. Conclusions Solid-pseudopapillary tumor of pancreas primarily affects young women, and it may be located in any part of pancreas. Surgical resection is recommended as the treatment of choice, and the prognosis is good.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2014;(41):6573-6577
BACKGROUND:Studies have shown that thymosinβ4 can improve the anti-apoptotic ability of a variety of cells, but the reports describing the changes in the anti-apoptotic ability of bone mesenchymal stem cells modified with thymosinβ4 gene in the hypoxic environment are rare.
OBJECTIVE:To observe the change in the apoptotic rate of bone mesenchymal stem cells modified with thymosinβ4 gene in the hypoxic environment, and to explore whether thymosinβ4 affects the apoptosis of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells via regulating the expression of Bax and Bcl-2.
METHODS:Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells were transfected with the recombinant lentiviral vector over-expressing the thymosinβ4 gene, and then we observed the expression of thymosinβ4 using western blot assay. cells were divided into three groups:thymosinβ4 transfection group, control virus group, and untreated group. Al three groups were placed in a hypoxic environment. The apoptotic rate of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells was evaluated by the flow cytometry assay. The expression of Bax and Bcl-2 protein was detected by western blot.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Thymosinβ4 gene was expressed successful y in the bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells showed by the western blot. The apoptotic rate of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells in the hypoxic environment was lower in the thymosinβ4 transfection group than the control virus group and untreated group;while there was no difference between the latter two groups. Western blot results showed that the expression of Bcl-2 protein was higher in the thymosinβ4 transfection group than the control virus group and untreated group, and the expression of Bax protein was lower in the thymosinβ4 transfection group than the control virus group and untreated group. No difference in the expression of Bax and Bcl-2 was found between the control virus group and untreated group. These findings indicate that thymosinβ4 overexpression can improve the anti-apoptotic ability of bone mesenchymal stem cells modified in the hypoxic environment, and its possible mechanism is through regulating the expression of Bax and Bcl-2 protein.

Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2013;48(4):457-65
Aurora-B as an important kinase to adjust the cell normal mitosis is a potent target for cancer treatment. Aurora-B is overexpressed in a broad range of tumor and tumor cells are more sensitive while Aurora-B is inhibited. Due to the key role of the Aurora-B in cell mitosis, the development of its inhibitors is becoming more and more important. Several small molecules inhibit with a similar efficacy both Aurora-A and Aurora-B, however, in most cases the effects resemble Aurora-B disruption by genetic methods, indicating that Aurora-B represents an effective therapeutic target. There were several Aurora-B kinase inhibitors which had entered the clinics and displayed good antitumor activity. In this review, we will outline the functions of Aurora kinase B in normal cell division and in malignancy. We will focus on recent preclinical and clinical studies that have explored the mechanism of action and clinical effect of Aurora-B inhibitors in cancer treatment.
