Objective To investigate the relation between the formaldehyde content of newly decorated houses and the time after decoration finished, which will offer an important reference to housing corporations and household. Methods The formaldehyde contents of newly decorated houses in Maoming were analyzed by colorimetry, Mar-Aug, 2003. Results The formaldehyde content in house A, in which the floor was compound floor boards, was higher than that in house B, in which the floor was wearable bricks. The formaldehyde content was not only related to the time after decoration finished, but also to the air temperature. After decoration finished, it must take half a year that the content of formaldehyde would meet the national standard limit. In consecutive testing, it was found that the content of formaldehyde would increase a little as the air temperature increased. Conclusion It must be attached importance to the formaldehyde content in the house floored with compound boards. It will need 6 months at least that the content of formaldehyde meet the requirement of the national standard after the newly house decoration.

The key point of study on CO2 removal by microalgae cultured in a photobioreactor is to improve CO2 removal capability. In this paper, a model of air-lift photobioreactor was developed by combination of conditions including the velocity of flow, the degree of mixing, the gas-liquid mass transfer and the rate of photosynthesis, and two corresponding simplified methods, such as time discretization and lumped parameters were put forward. Using a method of lumped parameters, the model for simulation of time course of DO, pH in the column air-lift photobioreactor and prediction of CO2, O2 concentrations in the outlet gas under different CO2 concentration in the aeration gas was thoroughly discussed. Experimental data were also used to verify the model which could potentially be applied to rational design of the photobioreactor, high-density culture of microalgae and efficient removal of CO2.

Objective To investigate the effect of escitalopram treatment on cognitive bias to the emotional facial information in patients with panic disorder. Methods 30 patients met CCMD-3 criteria for panic disorder were enrolled as research group and marched sexual and age 30 healthy persons enrolled as control group. Patients were treated with escitalopram for 8 weeks. All participants measured with dot-probe task of emotional facial information at base and after 8 weeks. RTs and attentional bias scores were compared respectively. Results After 8 weeks,HAMA scores (7. 81 ± 2. 52) in research group were lower than that of at base ( 17. 23 ± 3. 12) (P = 0.002). A repeated measure ANOVA revealed a significant probe site main effect (F(1,58) =4. 34, P = 0.031 ) , RTs of antarafacial site were longer than that of homonymy site. It revealed a significant probe site and group interaction(F(1,58) =16.15, P=0.000) ,a significant emotional facial information type and probe site interaction(F(1,58)=9.25, P =0.015) ,and a significant emotional facial information type × probe site× group interaction(F(1,58) =7. 31, P = 0. 002). LSD test showed that RTs of antarafacial site to fear facial information in research group were longer than that of homonymy site(P = 0.0009). RTs and attention bias scores of antarafacial site to fear facial information after 8 weeks in research group were lower than that of at base(P=0.032,0.008). Conclusion Patients with panic disorder have the cognitive bias to the fear facial emotional stimulus, and escitalopram treatment might improve the cognitive bias.

Objective To determine the role of fosinopril and valsartan intervention in Klotho, matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9), tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1) and plasminogen activator inhibitor (PAI-1) gene expression in hypertensive renal interstitial fibrosis (RIF) in the kidney tissue of spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR). MethodsWe randomly divided 20 male 22-week-old SHR into 4 groups (5 in each group):a hypertension group (SHR group), a fosinopril group [Fos group, 10 mg/( kg·d) gavage], a valsartan group [Val group, 10 mg/( kg·d) gavage], and a fosinopril plus valsartan group [Fos + Val group, fosinopril 10 mg/( kg·d) + valsartan 50 mg/( kg·d) gavage]. Another five 22-week-old male Wistar Kyoto rats (WKY) were used as controls. Through monitoring the weight of the rats, tail artery pressure, 24-hour urine protein by fosinopril and/or valsartan intervention after the 8-week trial. RT-PCR and Western blot were used to detect the mRNA and protein expression of Klotho, MMP-9, TIMP-1, and PAI-1 in the kidneys. Results RT-PCR showed that in the SHR group, Klotho mRNA and protein expression were significantly decreased(P<0.01), while mRNA and protein expression of MMP-9, TIMP-1, and PAI-1 were significantly higher compared with the WKY group(P<0.01). With fosinopril and / or valsartan intervention, Klotho mRNA expression in the Fos group (P<0.01), Fos + Val group (P<0.01), Val group (P<0.05), Klotho protein expression in the Fos group(P<0.05), Fos + Val group (P<0.05), Val group (P<0.01), were significantly increased compared with those in the SHR group. The mRNA and protein expression of MMP-9, TIMP-1, and PAI-1 in the Fos group, Val group, and Fos + Val group were significantly lower than those in the SHR group (P<0.01). The expression of Klotho mRNA had negative correlation with the expression of MMP-9 mRNA (r= -0.864, P<0.01), TIMP-1 mRNA (r=-0.725, P<0.01) and PAI-1 mRNA (r=-0.785, P<0.01). The Klotho protein expression had negative correlation with the expression of MMP-9 protein (r=-0.614, P<0.05), TIMP-1 protein (r=-0.579, P<0.05), and PAI-1 protein (r=-0.552, P<0.05). Conclusion Anti-aging gene Klotho and the genes related with extracellular matrix degradation gene MMP-9, TIMP-1, PAI-1 are involved in hypertensive renal injury. The expression of Klotho and MMP-9, TIMP-1, and PAI-1 is closely correlated. Fosinopril and valsartan which increase the Klotho mRNA and protein expression can alter the expression of Klotho-MMPs/TIMPs, which may be the main mechanism to prevent interstitial fibrosis.
