AIM: To investigate the possible impact of conductive keratoplasty(CK)on intraocular pressure( IOP ).METHODS: 36 eyes of 20 patients with hyperopia underwent IOP measurement with non-contact tonometer (NCT), Goldmann applanation tonometer (GAT) and Schiotz tonometer before and after CK.RESULTS: After CK, a significant decrease was observed by NCT, GAT and Schiotz measurements. The change in IOP readings was not correlated with age, sex, keratometric readings, or attempted correction.CONCLUSION: The applanation tonometer atend to underestimate the true IOP after CK.

AIM: To investigate the effect of ligustrazine (Lig) on cerebral injury in LPS-induced septic shock rats and to explore the underlying mechanism.METHODS: Wistar rats (n =48) were randomly divided into control group, LPS group and LPS +Lig treatment group. The rats in LPS group were randomly divided into 2 subgroups at time points of 6 h and 12 h.After ligustrazine treatment, the venous blood was collected by removal of eyeballs to detect the con-centration of neuron-specific enolase (NSE) using ELISA.The nitric oxide (NO) concentration in the homogenate of brain tissues was examined. The apoptosis in the hippocampus was analyzed by TUNEL staining. The protein expression of Bax and Bcl-2 was determined by Western blot.RESULTS: Ligustrazine inhibited the elevation of NSE and NO concentrations in LPS-induced septic shock rats.Furthermore, ligustrazine administration also attenuated LPS-induced increase in Bax ex-pression and decrease in Bcl-2 expression.CONCLUSION: Ligustrazine decreases the concentration of NSE and NO, and attenuates cerebral injury in LPS-induced septic shock rats. These effects may be related to the regulation of Bax and Bcl-2 expression.

Objective To investigate the effect of ginsenoside Rg1 on apoptosis after spinal cord ischemia-reperfusion injury (SCII) in rats. Methods Forty-eight adult Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into sham group (n=8), ischemia group (n=8), ischemia-reper-fusion group (n=16) and drug group (n=16). Fogarty catheter was put in the thoracic aorta of the rats and the blood flow wasn't blocked in the sham group. The rats in the ischemia group were sacrificed 30 minutes after spinal cord ischemia. The drug group was injected with gin-senoside Rg1 30 mg/kg 30 minutes before and after SCII. The same volume of normal saline was injected in the ischemia-reperfusion group at the same time. The expression of Bcl-2 and survivin was detected with immunohistochemistry at six hours, 24 hours after reperfusion in the ischemia-reperfusion group and drug group, 30 minutes after ischemia in the ischemia group and in the sham group. The change of cells was observed in each group with HE staining. Results The cells were damaged in the ischemia group, the ischemia-reperfusion group and the drug group, in which the drug group was better than the other groups. The expression of survivin and Bcl-2 was higher in the ischemia group, the ischemia-reperfusion group and the drug group than in the sham group (t>3.896, P<0.01), and were significantly higher six hours and 24 hours after reperfusion in the drug group than in the reperfusion group (t>6.693, P<0.001). Conclusion Ginsenoside Rg1 can reduce the neurons damage and increase the expression of the Bcl-2 and survivin, that inhibit cells apoptosis after SCII in rats.

Objective To investigate the effect of atorvastatin on endothelial diastolic function in patients with coronary artery disease. Methods he selected in January 2014 to December 2016 in our hospital make a diagnosis and give treatment of 80 patients with coronary heart disease(CHD)as the research object, the patients with its treatment is divided into two groups(control group and observation group)experiment, for the control group, 40 patients were treated with trimetazidine for observation group 40 cases of patients with trimetazidine+atorvastatin treatment;Compare the data of the two groups of patients. Results Observation group after treatment in patients with endothelial diastolic function level change is better than that of control group, the observation group vascular endothelin-1(60.48±12.72), nitric oxide(391.45±68.52), peripheral blood circulating endothelial microparticles(849.13±115.49), and other indicators are superior to control group vascular endothelin-1(70.47±15.52), nitric oxide(328.15±56.74), peripheral blood circulating endothelial microparticles(1019.67±127.52), compare the difference between groups was statistically significant(P< 0.05);The clinical therapeutic effect(95.0%)was superior to the control group(77.5%), and the difference in the group was statistically significant(P< 0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions(5.0%)was lower in the observed group(5.0%)than the control group(20.0%), and the difference in the group was statistically significant(P< 0.05).Conclusion Trimetazidine+atorvastatin therapy in patients with coronary heart disease in clinical effect is remarkable, can improve the endothelial diastolic function in patients with fully, is widely used in clinical treatment of coronary heart disease(CHD).

AIM: To investigate the serum levels of interleeukin-6(IL-6), interleukin-8(IL-8), tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-?) and soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1)in female patients with pre-menstruation recurrent aphthous ulceration(RAU). METHODS: Serum levels of IL-6,IL-8,TNF-? and sICAM-1 in 21 pre-menstruation RAU patients were examined using ELISA technique, and compared to 10 healthy individuals and 22 the female RAU patients unrelated to menstrual cycle. RESULTS: The serum levels of IL-6,IL-8,TNF-? in patients with pre-menstruation RAU were not only significantly higher than that in the normal control group( P

Changes of corneal properties induced by laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) results in low inaccurate intraocular pressure (IOP) readings by Goldmann applanation tonometry (GAT). Before and after LASIK, the applied value of IOP, measured by dynamic contour tonometry (DCT) in comparison to GAT, was evaluated. Before and 1, 4 weeks after LASIK, the IOP in 30 cases (60 eyes) was measured by GAT and DCT respectively. The obtained results were statistically processed by SPSS11.5 statistical software. The results showed that central corneal thickness (CCT) could affect GAT measurements but not DCT measurements. The comparison of IOP one and 4 weeks after LASIK revealed that the readings from GAT was separately decreased by 5.00 +/- 1.12 and 5.45 +/- 1.13 mmHg as compared with those before LASIK, while those from DCT had no significant difference. It was concluded that LASIK-induced changes of CCT could influence the accuracy of GAT measurements, but had no influence on those from DCT. DCT was more beneficial to the measurements of IOP in normal eyes and those subject to LASIK surgery.
