1.Preparation of Berberine Hydrochloride Poloxamer 188 Solid Dispersion
China Pharmacy 2001;0(11):-
OBJECTIVE: To prepare solid dispersion of berberine hydrochloride poloxamer 188. METHODS: Melting method was adopted to prepare solid dispersion. The influences of the ratio of the drug to poloxamer 188, melting temperature and cooling temperature on the dissolution of drugs were investigated. The difference of the dissolution between solid dispersion and physical mixture were explored. RESULTS: When the ratio of the drug to poloxamer 188 rose to 1 ∶ 1, the amount of the carrier was enough to distribute the drug evenly. Melting temperature had little influence on the dissolution of drugs while cooling temperature had strong influence on the dissolution of drugs. The fastest dissolution rate was achieved emerged when the cooling tempreture was 0℃. As compared with physical mixture, the dissolution rate of berberine hydroclride was nearly increased one time. CONCLUSION: Berberine hydrocloride poloxamer 188 solid dispersion improves the in vitro dissolution rate of berberine hydrocloride.
2.Clinical Characteristics of Meniscal Cyst of the Knee:Analysis on 104 Cases
Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery 2005;0(11):-
Objective To study the clinical features of meniscal cyst of the knee. Methods From January 2001 to December 2007,totally 5986 cases of meniscus operation were performed in our hospital,104 of them were diagnosed as having meniscal cyst in the knee. The clinical data of these patients, including gender and age distributions, causes and mechanism of injury, clinical presentations, characteristics of the cyst, and the type of the injury, were investigated. Results Incidence rate of meniscal cyst was 1.7% (104/5986) and the ratio between medial and lateral meniscal cysts was 1∶12 (8∶96). The mean age of the 104 patients was (30.7?12.2) years (range,13 to 65 years),and the radio of male to female was 1.2 to 1. Of the patients,60 cases (57.7%) had history of trauma,32 or them were hurt in sports, including football (11 cases),basketball (8 cases) and others. The most common primary symptom was pain (102 cases,98.1%),followed by swelling (50 cases,48.1%). Tenderness over the joint line (85 cases,81.7%) and palpable mass (79 cases,76.0%) with or without signs of meniscal tear were common presentations. The anterior and middle portions of the medial meniscus (5/8,62.5%),and posterior extension of the lateral meniscus (88/96,91.7%) were the most commonly involved sites (?2=15.167,P=0.000). The most frequently observed meniscal tear was a horizontal cleavage, alone (25/104,24.0%) or associated with another types of lesions (52/104,50.0%). In 5.8% (6/104) of the cases, the discoid meniscus was involved. Conclusions Meniscus cysts are unusual. The ratio between medial and lateral meniscal cysts favors the lateral meniscus. Meniscal tear and myxoid degeneration are the common causes of the cyst. The most frequently observed meniscal tear is a horizontal cleavage, and the anterior and middle portions of the medial meniscus and posterior extensions of the lateral meniscus are the most commonly involved sites.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of LARS artificial ligament on reconstruction of anterior and posterior cruciate ligament of keen joint.METHODS: Articles addressing reconstruction of anterior and posterior cruciate ligament by LARS artificial ligament were retrieved from VIP database (http://www.cqvip.com/) with the key words of "LARS artificial ligament, cruciate ligament, reconstruction" in Chinese between January 2000 and February 2010.Inclusion criteria: advantages and disadvantages of reconstructing anterior and posterior cruciate ligament by LARS artificial ligament; clinical application of reconstructing anterior and posterior cruciate ligament by LARS artificial ligament.Exclusion criteria: Duplicated studies or old references were excluded.A total of 31 articles were included in the final analysis.RESULTS: Reconstruction of anterior and posterior cruciate ligament by LARS artificial ligament characterized by convenient operation, short operative time, mild trauma, engaging in movement early, great strength, simple implantation, and reliable fixation; however, most patients were not able to bear the high medical cost, thus clinical application was limited.Scholars thought that LARS artificial ligament had great effects on reconstruction of anterior and posterior cruciate ligament.CONCLUSION: Patients who had multi-ligament injury, overhauling of ligament, and early movement were treated with LARS artificial ligament.

Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2015;(7):637-640
Obesity has a harmful impact on health and is imposed by both environmental and genetic factors. Recently, over 60 obesity-related susceptible loci have been identified through genome-wide association study. However, it still remained unknown whether these loci were specific or generalized to the ethnic groups for genetic distinction. This review summarized the obesity-related susceptible loci in Asian populations, which were recently identified among Europeans or Asians.

Cancer Research and Clinic 1999;0(05):-
Tumor metastasis is a primary cause of leading to death of tumor patients, and difficult to control. The relationship between primary tumor(PT)and metastasis tumor(MT)is extremely complicated. Considerable animal experiments and clinical data confirm that treatment of PT encourages the growth of MT, but the mechanism is not still fully clear. Some studies show that the density depression of antiangiogenesis factor and immune escape of tumor cell are main reasons for MT accelerated growth. This article reviews the animal experiment, clinical observation and occurrence mechanism of primary tumor treatment promoting tu- mor metastasis.

Objective To observe the effect and mechanism of quercetin on the proliferation of rat hepatic stellate cell(HSC)induced by TGF-β1.Methods HSC was isolated by orthotopic hepatic perfusion with collagenase Ⅳ.MTT assay was used to detect the inhibitory effect of quercetin on the proliferation of HSC.The expression of typeⅠcollagen in HSC was detected by ELISA.The effect of quercetin on the expression of typeⅠcollagen,Smad2 and Smad7 mRNA in HSC was detected by real-time quantitative PCR.The expression of type Ⅰ collagen,Smad2 and Smad7 protein in HSC was detected by Western blot. Results Quercetin could inhibit the proliferation of HSC,down-regulated the expression of type Ⅰ collagen,Smad2 mRNA and protein, and Smad7 mRNA and protein expression were significantly up-regulated(all P<0.05).Conclusion The anti-hepatic fibrosis effect of quercetin may be related to its blocking TGF-β1/Smad pathway of HSC and blocking the activation and proliferation of HSC.
