Objective To study the clinical diagnosis and treatment of juxtapapillary duodenal diverticula with biliary deseases. Methods Eighteen duodenal diverticulum treated in our department in recent 5 years were retrospectivly analyzed, especially investigated the postcholecystectomy cases whose symptoms were continuing existence after operatoins. Articles about the surgical treatment were reviewed. Results The total of 18 duodenal diverticulum with 17 cases of juxtapapillary duodenal diverticulum were included in this study. The ages of 12 cases were over 50 years old. Sixteen cases(88.89%) presented biliary stones. Seven cases once had performed cholecystectomy or cholecystectomy plus choledochotomy, but symptoms persisted after operations. The duodenal diverticulum were found by endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and hypotonic duodenography. Sixteen patients underwent surgical treatment with good effect. Conclusion The juxtapapillary duodenal diveticula has the close relationship with biliary stones. ERCP and hypotonic duodenogrphy are the most reliable methods to get the correct diagnosis. In case of recurrent common bile duct stones after operations or persisting billiary symptoms after cholecystectomy, the coexistence of juxtapapillary duodenal diverticulum should be ruled out. The surgical treatment is only considered for the duodenal diverticulum with complication.

Spermatogenesis is a complex process. Current knowledge about human spermatogenesis is mainly based on the mouse model while little is known about the initial stage of this fundamental process in humans. The establishment of the model of spermatogenesis in vitro may contribute to an overall understanding of male germ cell development, an insight into the mechanisms of infertility, and clinical management of male infertility. This review summarizes current knowledge about the generation of germ cell-like cells from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) in vitro and discusses the potential application of iPSCs in the treatment of male infertility.

Journal of Medical Research 2015;44(10):103-106
Objective To confirm the role of human parvovirus B 19 ( B19) infection in childhood immune thrombocytopenia ( ITP) patients. Methods A total of 416 cases of newly diagnosed childhood ITP patients from Jan .2011 to Dec.2013 had been summarized to be cases group , Then a total of 130 childhood patients with common respiratory tract infection were selected randomly as the control group . All patients had been divided in grouped by age as <1 years group(n=187), 1-3 years group(n=127), 3-7 years group(n=71), and 7-14 years group(n=31).The incidence rate of B19 infection in all age groups, the prognosis conditions in B19 infection positive and negative groups after the same therapy protocol were obserred .Results The B19 infection rate had no statistical significance in re-search groups and control groups .And no significant difference in the same age groups compared with control groups (all P>0.05) was found. All the ITP patients had not been given anti -B19 treatment. The PLT remission rate, respectively, after treated with the same pro-tocol including glucocorticoid and/or immunoglobulin had a declining trend as the ages increasing .The B19 infection groups of all ages al-so had no significant difference PLT remission rate had been confirmed in non -B19 infection patients in each age groups (all P>0.05). Conclusions B19 infection may not be a major cause in childhood newly ITP , and treatment protocol with no anti -B19 treatment had no influence on the clinical curative efficacy .

Objective To research the antibacterial effect in vitro of different extract of Wikstroemia indica. Methods Double dilution method was used to determine the MIC of 11 species bacterium. Results The acetic ether extract had much obvious effect than n-butanol extract, both of them had high effect on staph.,but the aqueous extract had little antibacterial effect. Conclusion The acetic ether extract has obvious antibacterial effect, also has broad-spectrum antibacterial activity.

International Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2006;0(04):-
Protein transduction is an emerging technique in biological fields in recent years. Through the medium of protein transduction domain(PTD) composed by a small number of alkaline peptides, the functional proteins linked covalently with DNA, peptides, proteins or other macromolecules can across the membranes of mammalian cells, even the blood-brain barrier and transfer unconventionally that isn't like classical pathway. The distinct property of PTD that can take along fused protein entering into cells unconventionally offers a new vehicle to gene therapy for some diseases and has dulcet applied perspective.

Objective To investigate the timing for delivery in twin pregnancies to improve the perinatal outcome. Methods A multicentered and retrospective study was conducted on 655 women with twin pregnancies in 6 hospitals of Shanghai from Jan 1993 to Oct 2003. The average birthweight(BW) for both twins in different gestation, the incidence of small for gestational age (SGA) and severe neonatal asphyxia were analyzed. Results For the smaller babies in all twins, the 50 percentile of the birth weight was far behind the singletons throughout the pregnancy. But for the larger babies, it was similar to the singletons if delivered before 33 weeks, lighter than the singletons if after 33 weeks and remarkable difference was shown beyond 39 weeks. The largest BW of the larger babies was 3073 g presented at 39 weeks, while 2670 g for the smaller babies at 40 weeks after which the average BW was decreased. It reached 2555 g and 2303 g at 41 weeks for the larger and smaller babies, respectively (P

Background:Inflammation plays an important role in intestinal ischemia-reperfusion injury(IRI),and erythropoietin (EPO)has been reported to have anti-inflammatory activity. Aims:To explore the protective effect of EPO on intestinal IRI and its potential mechanism. Methods:Thirty-two healthy male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups:sham operation group(sham group),IRI group,EPO group and 740Y-P group. Rats in IRI,EPO and 740Y-P groups were injected intraperitoneally with 0. 9% NaCl,EPO and EPO + 740Y-P,respectively,one hour before the establishment of intestinal IRI model by superior mesenteric artery clamping(45 min)-reperfusion. All rats were sacrificed one hour after reperfusion. Histopathological changes of small intestine were observed;expression of proteins in PI3K/ Akt and NF-κB signaling pathways was measured by Western blotting;expression and secretion of inflammatory cytokines, including interleukin-8(IL-8),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1(MCP-1)were examined by real-time PCR and ELISA. Results:Compared with sham group, the damage score of small intestine, protein expressions of PI3K,p-Akt and p-NF-κB p65,as well as mRNA expressions and serum levels of IL-8,TNF-α and MCP-1 in IRI group were significantly increased(P < 0. 05). EPO pretreatment could ameliorate the histopathological changes of small intestine in IRI model rats, inhibit PI3K/ Akt and NF-κB signaling activation and down-regulate expression and secretion of inflammatory cytokines. When 740Y-P,a PI3K agonist, was used combinedly, the effect exerted by EPO was diminished. Conclusions:EPO pretreatment can protect against intestinal IRI by inhibiting the activation of PI3K/ Akt/NF-κB signaling and the subsequent inflammatory response.
