3.From Moral Experience to Care giving: the Theoretical and Practical Paths of Medical Humanities
Chinese Medical Ethics 2017;30(6):676-681
Most of the current medical humanities education focuses on the moral aspects without good theoreti-cal basis and specific practices on the medical institution and daily life. The article dates back to the origins of So-cial Science based on the concept caregiving put forward by the medical anthropologist Arthur Kleinman, and states that the ultimate purpose of Social Science is to make response to the social suffering and provide caregiving for it.Caregiving as moral experience is response to social suffering and attracts much importance, because it pro-vides both the theoretical basis and practical means for the current medical humanities education. Its characteristics of caregiving as moral experience to social suffering and caregiving as reciprocity meet the demands of current notion of Big health in China.
4.Research development of HER2 in gastric and gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma
International Journal of Surgery 2013;40(7):475-478
Amplification of the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2/neu (HER2/neu) gene and overexpression of the HER2 protein (HER2) have been shown to occur in gastric and gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma in a number of studies. With a dismal survival rate, patients with these cancers stand to benefit from the identification of possible molecular targets such as HER2 for both prognostic and therapeutic purposes.Although these and other carcinomas that overexpress HER2 may have a poorer prognosis and exhibit resistance to conventional chemo-therapy,they have also recently been shown to respond to targeted therapy with the anti-HER2 antibody Trastuzumab. Here, the author briefly review the molecular biology, histopathology, diagnostic techniques, and interpretation,as well as the clinical implications of HER2 amplification/overexpression in gastric and gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma.

Chinese Journal of Immunology 2015;(5):667-669,673
Objective:To compare the mRNA expression of IRG1in PBMCs from patients with TB, individual with latent infection and healthy controls, and investigate its diagnostic value for Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. Methods: The mRNA expression of IRG1 from PBMCs stimulated with Mtb-specific antigens was quantitatively detected by quantitative real-time PCR ( qPCR).Receiver-operating-characteristic ( ROC) curves were used to determine the cutoff points yielding the highest specificity and sensitivity, and discriminative ability was evaluated by the area under the ROC curve. Results: The mRNA expression of IRG1 in healthy controls was significantly lower than that in patients with tuberculosis and LTBI ( P<0.05 ).The AUC for using IRG1 mRNA levels (>0.01536 ) to identify Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection was 0.91, with 76.47% sensitivity, 96.30% specificity, LR 20.65,and 85.2% of cases correctly classified. Conclusion: IRG1 may be used as a biomarker for diagnosing Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection.

To investigate the effects of human anti-BAFF scFv-Fc against the hsBAFF, ICR mice were randomly divided into six groups: control, hsBAFF (1 mg x kg(-1)), hsBAFF (1 mg x kg(-1)) + Ab (1 mg x kg(-1)), hsBAFF (1 mg x kg(-1)) + Ab (2 mg x kg(-1)), hsBAFF (1 mg x kg(-1)) + human IgG (1 mg x kg(-1)) and hsBAFF (1 mg x kg(-1)) + human IgG (2 mg x kg(-1)) groups. The effects of scFv-Fc administration on the proliferation of B lymphocytes were evaluated using an MTT assay. The titres of antibody in the serum and B lymphocytes differentiation were assessed by ELISA and flow cytometry, respectively. The results showed that administration of scFv-Fc to mice injected with hsBAFF significantly prevented human BAFF-induced increases in splenic B cell numbers and serum immunoglobulin levels. Furthermore, this fully human antibody would avoid inducing the human anti-mouse antibody (HAMA) response when used in humans. These findings suggest that the compact antibody may be useful in therapeutic or diagnostic application of the BAFF-associated autoimmune diseases in human.

ABSTRACT The exploration course on production standard of acupuncture needle by Chengjiang acupuncture school is reviewed in this paper. After new China was established, acupuncture needle standard was unified by Mr. CHENG Dan-an, which guided Suzhou Hua Erfang (predecessor of Suzhou Medical Supplies Factory) to make the quality standards and testing methods of acupuncture needle and improved the production process to make the modern acupuncture needle. Based on this, Suzhou Medical Supplies Factory followed the time development pace, ac tively introduced new technology, carried out technological innovation, and constantly improved the level of production technology, as a result, it gradually developed into one of the world's largest acupuncture needle production suppliers. Meanwhile, after establishing China's first national standard on acupuncture needle (GB 2024-1980), the Suzhou Medical Supplies Factory took the lead to draft "ISO) 17218:2014 the disposable use asepsis acupuncture needle", which was officially published as an international standard. The Suzhou Medical Supplies Factory developed from a manual workshop to an international standard maker.

Chinese Journal of Cancer Biotherapy 1996;0(04):-
Murine interleukin-4 gene(mIL-4) was transfected into mice glioblastoma cell line G422 by recombinant adenovirus vector. We detected mRNA transcription of target gene in gene modified tumor cells(G422-mIL4). High level of mouse IL-4 could be detected in the culture supernatant of G422-mIL4. When inoculated subcuatneously, the tumor growth of G422-mIL4 was significantly inhibited as compared to wild type G422 and LacZ gene modified G422( G422-LacZ) . The period of survival of mice inoculated with G422-mlL4 was significantly prolongated(p

Chinese Journal of Cancer Biotherapy 1996;0(04):-
We previously showed that adenvirus-mediated lymphotactin (Ltn) gene transfer in vivo could improve the an-titumor efficacy of cytosine deaminase (CD) gene therapy significantly. In the precent study, we investigated the im-munological mechanisms involved in the enhanced antitumor efficacy. Upregulation of CD80 and CD54 on murine CT26 colon carcinoma cells was observed after combined transfection with adenovirus encoding CD (AdCD) and adenovirus encoding murine Ltn ( AdLtn) followed by administration of 5-PC in vitro. IL-2 and IFN-? level secreted by splenocytes increased significantly after the combination therapy. In vivo depletion analysis showed that both CD4~+ and CD8~+ T cells participated in the antitumor effect of the host with CD8~+ T cells being the main T cell subset responsible for the enhanced antitumor immune response. These data suggested that increased irnmunogenicity and efficient induction of antitumor immunity of the host might contribute to the enhanced antitumor effects of the combined Ltn and CD suicide therapy.
