Objective To observe the serum γ-glutamyltransferase (γ-GGT) levels in patients with chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in different immune status and investigate their relationship with HBV DNA loads and ALT levels. Methods Blood samples were collected from 191 patients with chronic HBV infection in different immune status, including inactive HBV carrier state (group B,n = 55), immune tolerance phase (group C, n=47), HBeAg-negative CHB (group D, n =17), immune-reactive phase (group E, n=72) and 61 healthy individuals ( group A) for the detection of the serum γ-GGT, ALT level and HBV DNA loads. Results γ-GGT level were obviously higher in groups D and E than those in groups of A, B and C (P<0.01). Correlation analysis showed that the γ-GGT levels were positively correlated with serum ALT , AST levels in HBeAg-negative CHB and immune-reactive phase , but not correlated with HBV DNA loads. Conclusions The levels of γ-GGT are different during different immune status in patients with chronic HBV infection. The increased serum γ-GGT level may be an indicator for patients with chronic HBV infection entering immune active phase. The liver inflammation is the major impact factor to the γ-GGT levels.

BACKGROUND:Human plantar pressure can reflect the health status of the lower limbs and even the whole body, which is an important basis for gait analysis, and body mass index is an important influencing factor. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of body mass index on plantar pressure. METHODS:Twenty young college students from Xuzhou Medical University, including 10 males and 10 females aged 19-21 years, were selected as test subjects and divided into three groups according to the body mass index value:overweight group(body mass index>25 kg/m2,n=3),lean group(body mass index<18 kg/m2,n=4),and normal group(body mass index 18-25 kg/m2,n=13).A natural walking gait test was carried out on the three groups of subjects with a Zebris pressure distribution measurement plate to obtain the complete gait cycle parameters. The time proportion of support time phase, peak pressure, time to peak force, peak force and impulse volume were analyzed and the correlation between each parameter and the body mass index was analyzed by Person analysis. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)Compared with the other two groups, the time proportion of support time phase of subjects in the overweight group was relatively small, while the time proportion in the foot heel contact period and forefoot extension period was relatively large. There was a positive correlation of the time proportion of the foot heel contact period and forefoot extension period with body mass index, while there was a negative correlation between the time proportion of the arch support period and body mass index.(2)The peak pressure of the left arch and palm of the foot of the subjects of the overweight group was higher than that of the normal group, and the peak pressure of the left and right palm of the foot of the lean group was lower than that of the normal group. The peak pressure was positively correlated with the body mass index during the foot heel contact period. There was a significant positive correlation between the peak pressure of the left foot and body mass index during the arch support period as well as the peak pressure of both feet and body mass index during the forefoot extension period.(3)Plantar peak force time in the order of the gait cycle in increasing order:heel

ObjectiveTo compare the effects of different doses and withdrawal time of 4-vinylcyclohexene diepoxide (VCD) on the reproductive endocrine levels of female rats, and to explore the effective, stable, and safe dosage of VCD for constructing a premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) rat model. MethodSD rats with regular estrous cycles were randomly divided into three groups: blank group, low-dose VCD group (80 mg·kg-1·d-1), and high-dose VCD group (160 mg·kg-1·d-1), with 24 rats in each group. After drug intervention, samples were collected on the 15th day (D15) and the 45th day (D45) after intervention. The general condition, rate of estrous cycle disturbance, serum hormone levels, ovarian histomorphology, follicle count, pregnancy outcome, and the protein and mRNA expression of transforming growth factor (TGF)-β and Smad2/3 were assessed. ResultCompared with the blank group, the low-dose VCD group showed no significant differences in the rate of estrous cycle disturbance or serum follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), and estradiol (E2) levels. Ovarian tissue was damaged. Specifically, the number of primordial and primary follicles decreased on D15 (P<0.01), and the number of secondary follicles (P<0.01) and antral follicles (P<0.05) further decreased on D45. The litter number decreased on D15 (P<0.05), but there was no significant difference on D45. Furthermore, TGF-β protein levels increased on D15 (P<0.05) and D45 (P<0.01). The Smad2/3 levels increased on D45 (P<0.01), and TGF-β and Smad2/3 mRNA levels increased on D45 (P<0.05). Compared with the results in the blank group, the disturbance rate of the estrous cycle increased on D45 in the high-dose VCD group (P<0.01). The serum of FSH and LH increased (P<0.01), while E2 decreased (P<0.05). Ovarian tissue was damaged, and the downward trend of follicles at all levels was similar to that in the low-dose VCD group. The litter number significantly decreased on D15 and D45. TGF-β and Smad2/3 protein levels increased (P<0.05,P<0.01), and TGF-β mRNA increased on D45 (P<0.05). ConclusionHigh-dose VCD is an ideal method for constructing a POI rat model, being effective, stable, and safe.
