2.Incidence and position of the canal isthmus in maxillary second premolars
Journal of Practical Stomatology 2000;0(06):-
Objective: To investigate the root canal configuration and the incidence and location of the isthmus in extracted maxillary second premolar with single root. Methods: 60 maxillary second premolars were included in the study. 1 mm root was cut from the apical end of root. The transverse section was stained with methylene blue dye and viewed with a surgical operating microscope. 1 mm increment sections were made and stained and observed by the same way from apex to 6 mm. The number of canals as well as the type of canal isthmuses were recorded. Results: 41.67% maxillary second premolar with single root had two canals. Canal isthmus happened more frequently in the apical 4 mm levels. Conclusion: The incidence of isthmus in the maxillary second premolar was highest in the apical 3-to 5-mm level. Canal morphology in the apical 1-to 6-mm is complicated.
3.Effects of health interventions for patients with hyperuricemia on knowledge-attitude-performance in community
Chinese Journal of General Practitioners 2015;14(4):282-284
A total of 446 hyperuricemic patients were divided randomly by community-based cluster sampling into study (n =228) and comparison (n =218) groups.After 12-month health interventions,the Knowledge-Attitude-Performance (KAP) questionnaire [(19.0±4.7) points],lifestyle (balanced diet,modest physical exercises & regular monitoring) self-report questionnaire [attitudes prevention awareness:(8.3 ± 6.1) points,disease self-management behaviors:(13.2 ± 9.8) points],uricacid index [(395 ± 46)mmol/L] and body mass index (BMI) [(23.1 ± 2.3)kg/m2] were better than those at pre-intervention in study group [(9.3 ± 2.7),(4.6 ± 3.9),(7.4 ± 6.4)],[(420 ± 44)mmol/L,(24.9 ± 1.6) kg/m2] (P < 0.05).Also the inter-group difference had statistical significance (P < 0.05).It suggests that health intervention management is both feasible and effective in improving the KAP of patients,modulating lifestyles and lowering the levels of uric acid index and BMI.

International Eye Science 2016;16(7):1360-1362
AIM: To observe the clinical effect of Ex - press glaucoma filtration device implantation under scleral flap for traumatic glaucoma.
METHODS: Totally 19 eyes of 19 patients with traumatic glaucoma were implanted with Ex - press glaucoma filtration device under the scleral flap from December 2012 to May 2013. The postoperative visual acuity, anterior chamber depth and hyphema, intraocular pressure(IOP), filtering bleb and other complications were observed and summarized.
RESULTS: Ex - press glaucoma filtration device were implanted successfully in 19 patients. At 1d postoperatively shallow anterior chamber was occurred in 2 eyes and hyphema was occurred in 3 eyes. At 3mo postoperatively increased vision was occurred in 9 eyes (47%),functional filtering bleb was occurred in 18 eyes ( 95%), and IOP was 12. 1 ± 6. 1mmHg. At 6mo postoperatively increased vision was occurred in 11 eyes (58%),functional filtering bleb was occurred in 18 eyes (95%),and IOP was 13. 3±6. 9mmHg. Compared with the preoperative IOP ( 29. 8 ± 6. 7mmHg), the difference was significant(P<0. 05).
CONCLUSION: Ex - press glaucoma filtration device implantationfor traumatic glaucoma can improve the postoperative vision and control the postoperative IOP stably with fewer complications and high safety.

China Pharmacy 2017;28(11):1503-1506
OBJECTIVE:To investigate clinical efficacy and safety of Fluticasone furoate nasal spray in the treatment of aller-gic rhinitis(AR). METHODS:100 AR patients in our hospital during Jan. 2014-Dec. 2015 were divided into control group and ob-servation group according to random number table, with 50 cases in each group. Both groups received decongestant Oxymetazoline hydrochloride spray. Control group was additionally given Budesonide spray, once each nostril on the first day, twice each nostril on the second day, increasing suitably according to disease condition, less than 6 times a day for patients younger than 14 years old, less than 8 times a day for patients older than 14 years old;observation group was additionally given Fluticasone furoate nasal spray, once each nostril,qd for patients younger than 14 years old, once each nostril, while morning and night for patients older than 14 years old. Both groups received treatment for consecutive 30 d. The total nasal symptoms score(TNSS),total eye symp-toms score (TESS),total nasal resistance (TNR) under 75,150 Pa,nasal minimum cross-sectional area (MCA) and the occur-rence of ADR were compared between 2 groups before and after treatment. RESULTS:There was no statistical significance in above indexes between 2 groups before treatment (P>0.05). After treatment,TNSS of 2 groups and TESS of observation group were decreased significantly compared to before treatment, and TESS of observation group was significantly lower than that of con-trol group, with statistical significance (P<0.05). There was no statistical significance in TESS of control group before and after treatment(P>0.05). TNR of 2 groups under 75,150 Pa were significantly lower than before treatment, and the observation group was lower than the control group, with statistical significance (P<0.05). MCA of 2 groups were significantly lower than before treatment, without statistical significance between 2 groups(P>0.05). The incidence of ADR in observation group was significant-ly lower than control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Fluticasone furoate is similar to budesonide in the treatment of nasal symptoms of AR patients, but it is better than budesonide in improving eye symptoms and nasal ventila-tion function with milder ADR.
