Objective To explore the effect of spinal decompression system on lumbar disc herniation. Methods 83 patients of lumbar disc herniation were divided into observation group (n=42) and control group (n=41). Both groups received massage therapy, while the observation group was treated with spinal decompression system in addition. The effect was evaluated with Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) assessment of low back pain. Results The VAS score decreased and the JOA score increased in both groups after treatment (P<0.05), and it was better in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.01). Conclusion Spinal decompression system could improve the therapeutic effect on lumbar disc herniation.

OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of anisodamine (Ani) injection on the survival rate and histologic result of flaps with ischemia-reperfusion injury, so as to demonstrate the protective effect of Ani on the flap survival.

METHODSA total of 48 healthy male Wistar rats were randomly divided into model control, normal saline(NS) and anisodamine groups, with 16 rats in each group. An 3 cm x 6 cm axial flap was formed at the right lower abdomen with abdominal superficial blood vessel as the pedicle. 0.5 cm x 0.5 cm skin tissue was taken from the middle part of flaps in each group, immediately after operation, 12, 18, 24 h after operation. The superoxide dismutase (SOD), nitric oxide (NO), nuclear factor-kappaB contents in the specimens were detected. The histologic study was also performed. The flap survival rate was recorded 7 days after operation.

RESULTSFlap survival rate was (78.6 +/- 7.3) % in Anisodamine group. 12, 18, 24 h after reperfusion injury, the SOD was (103.3 +/- 3.9), (82.6 +/- 3.8), (67.5 +/- 4.6) U/mg; the NO was (5.33 +/- 2.05), (4.75 +/- 1.68), (4.15 +/-1.59) nmol/mg; the NF-kappaB was 0.211 +/- 0.039, 0.313 +/- 0.033, 0.096 +/- 0.028. The contents of SOD, NO and NF-kappaB had the statistical difference of at different time. The skin pathological changes in Anisodamine group was obviously better than those in NS group. Flap survival rate in Anisodamine group was significantly higher than that in NS group.

CONCLUSIONSIn the flap with ischemia-reperfusion injury, Anisodamine can reduce the damage of free radical, increase the blood flow, reduce the production of NF-KB, decrease inflammatory reaction. So Anisodamine can increase the survival rate of flaps with ischemia reperfusion injury.

In order to improve the metabolism yield of cordycepin and adenosine,we studied nitrogen sources ,the levels of nitrogen sources and carbon sources,dynamic development in liquid culture ,as well as the total yield of cordycepin and adenosine in culture system through determining the contents of cordycepin and adenosine by HPLC .The results are as follows: not only animal protein but also some plant protein is very good nitrogen sources; in culture solution the suitable levels of nitrogen sources and carbon sources is respectively 3% and 4%; the content of adenosine in culture solution is very low, while it is quite high in mycelia; it is much higher that the total yield of cordycepin in culture solution than in mycelia; when the culture system is oscillated and cultured after 7~9 days, the total yield of cordycepin and adenosine are both high.

Objective To investigate the value of hepatic T2 value in evaluation of chronic HBV-related acute-on-chronic liver failure (HBV-ACLF).Methods The HBV-ACLF group,chronic hepatitis B group and control group who underwent liver MRI (M-GRASE sequence) were enrolled.The T2 map was produced from the post-processing software,and the mean T2 and R2 value of liver was calculated.The blood biochemical indexes from HBV-ACLF and chronic hepatitis B group were collected in 2 days pre-MR scaning.The differences of T2 and R2 values among 3 groups and the correlation between biochemical indexes and T2 value were analyzed.ROC curve was conducted to evaluate diagnostic efficiency of T2 value for HBV-ACLF.Results There were significant differences of T2value (x2 =19.074,P＜0.001) or R2 value (F=10.411,P＜0.001) among the 3 groups.The AUC of T2 value for diagnosing HBV-ACLF was 0.86 (P＜0.001),with the cut-off value 57.73 ms (R2=0.017).Moderate positive correlation was shown between T2 values and international normalized ratio (INR),prothrombin time (PT),haluronicacid (HA) values (rs =0.65,0.67,0.39,all P＜0.05),and moderate negative correlation was shown between T2 values and prothrombin activity (PTA),albumin (ALB),prealbumin (PA) values (rs =-0.67,-0.48,-0.37,all P＜0.05).Conclusion T2 or R2 value could reflect the liver function,and were correlated with some biochemical indexes,which illustrated a good diagnostic efficiency for diagnostic of HBV-ACLF.

Objective To explore the value of spiral CT in differentiation between benign and malignant thyroid tumor.Methods CT findings of thyroid tumor confirmed by the pathology in 50 patients,were retrospectively analyzed and in comparison with the data of operation and pathology.Results There were benign tumor(n=35)and malignant tumor(n=15)in this study.All the benign tumors were thyroid adenoma.The malignant tumors included thyroid carcinoma(n=14)and lymphoma(n=1).All the cases of thyroid benign tumors demonstrated clear margin and homogeneous enhancement.Cystic area and curvilinear or mass calcification could be seen in some cases.Some characteristic signs,such as irregular tumor outline,fine discrete granular and irregular calcification,heterogeneous enhancement,invading neighbor structures and cervical lymph node metastasis,could only been seen in thyroid malignant tumors.Conclusion Spiral CT has a notable advantage in differential diagnosis between benign and malignant thyroid tumor.
