Carbon monoxide(CO)has a significant anti-inflammatory action.Carbon monoxide releasing molecule(CORM),as a new donor of CO,is used widely in biological study.The article reviewed the antiinflammatory action of CO and the progress of CORM.

Objective To evaluate t he efficacy of fluoxetine in treating tinnitus patients with depress. Methods A randomized,open-labeled,controlled clinical tri al was conducted.There were 31 patients in control group and 26 p a tents in fluoxetine group.The efficacy was assessed by tinnitus patients with Ra ting Scale and Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD). Results The total effective rate of fluoxetine group was 71.11%, and there was significant improvement rate in depression after 1 month f luoxetine treatm ent. Conclusion Fluoxetine is an effective drug for tinnitus p atients with depression.

Objective To study the inconsistent relation of twin discordancy and the umbilical artery blood flow parameter of systolic/diastolic ratio.Methods 358 pregnant women were divided into the two groups of develop-mental nonidentity( n=67 ) and developmental identity ( n=291 ) according to the criterion that the differences of twins weight exceeded 25 percent.The umbilical artery blood flow parameter of systolic/diastolic ratio were observed. Meanwhile,the difference of weight and the umbilical artery blood flow parameter of systolic/diastolic ratio in the group of developmental nonidentity were observed.Results A significant difference of the umbilical artery blood flow parameter of systolic/diastolic ratio were found in the two groups of developmental nonidentity and developmental identity(7.81%vs 32.56%,P<0.05).There were 56 cases that twins weight exceeded from 25 to 35 percent,7 cases that twins weight exceeded from 35 to 45 percent and 4 cases that twins weight exceeded 45 percent in the group of developmental nonidentity which the umbilical artery blood flow parameter of systolic/diastolic ratio were (23.66 ± 5.78)%,(27.16 ±7.25)% and (33.16 ±4.23)% correspondingly with significant difference(F=23.21,P<0.05 ) .Conclusion The umbilical artery blood flow parameter of systolic/diastolic ratio has significance in diagnosis of twin discordancy.

Brain metastasis ( BM) is a common brain tumor in a-dults, originating from extracranial location in the body. There has been a growing interest in producing suitable animal models for studying BM in vivo. Current BM models take peripheral or brain route for tumor cell inoculation, including intra-cardiac or intra-carotid artery injection or orthotopic injection. Direct im-plantation of patient tumor biopsies into rodent brain bears ad-vantages of clinical relevance. This review presents a compre-hensive introduction to key elements for establishing animal mod-els of BM, with highlights on selections of suitable model ani-mals, brain-seeking tumor cell lines, reasonable inoculation routes, as well as succedent phenotyping methods. In the end, perspectives and future directions in this field are discussed.

Objective To evaluate the effect of biofeedback therapy for the treatment of myogenic fecal incontinence. MethodsA general assessment about anorectal function was made on 17 cases receiving biofeedback therapy including muscle power training,sensory training and coordination training. Results The clinical scores before and after biofeedback therapy were 1.66?0.23,3.80?0.42 respectively,with an effective rate of 82%. The anus maximum contracting pressure elevated,(73?20) mm Hg vs. (123?30) mm Hg; myoelectric amplitude increased,(122?32) ?V vs. (230?41) ?V;Contracting time prolonged,(4.1?2.0) s vs. (9.4?3.0) s; The sensory threshold was lowered,(50?12) ml vs. ( 20? 10) ml;The feel-contract time increased,(3.1?0.4) s vs. (1.2?0.3) s. Positive rectal contraction reflex was seen in 41% patients before therapy compared with 82% after therapy. Conclusions Biofeedback therapy increases contractility of sphincter,decreases threshold of rectal sensory,and is a therapy of choice for myogenic fecal incontinence.

Objective:To investigate the effects of the proportional imbalance of Th1/Th2 in allergic asthma model by transferring the recombinant of PcDNA3.0/p27kip1 eukaryotic expressing plasmid into allergic asthma model.Methods:KM mice were distributed into three groups:healthy control mice(group A);Ovalbumin(OVA)-sensitized/challenged mice(group B) and OVA-sensitized/challenged mice intratracheally administered with PcDNA3.0/p27kip1 plasmid(plasmid-treated mice,group C).KM mice were sensitized and challenged intratracheally with OVA,then transfected with the recombinant PcDNA3.0/p27kip1 eukaryotic expressing plasmid which was constructed by our laboratory crew through vein injection.The p27 protein expression in lungs 36 h after transfection was analyzed by Western blot;Flow cytometry was used to analyze the proportion of CD4 (+)and CD8(+) T lymphocyte subsets in the spleen.The serum levels of IL-4,IL-5,IL-13 and IFN-? were measured by ELISA.Results:Compared to the group A,the expression of p27 protein was significantly reduced,and the proportion of CD4(+)lymphocytes and serum levels of IL-4,IL-5 and IL-13 were significantly higher but CD8(+)lymphocytes and IFN-? was significantly decreased in group B.However,in group C,the expression of p27 protein was significantly increased;Whereas the proportion of CD4 (+) lymphocytes,serum levels of IL-4,IL-5 and IL-13 were significantly decreased.CD8 (+) lymphocytes and IFN-? were significantly increased than those in group B.Conclusion:p27 could be expressed in lungs of plasmid-treated mice and regulate the proportion of Th1/Th2 subset by means of adjusting cell cycles.This method may serve as a potential therapeutic option for the treatment of asthma.

Objective:To analyze 916 cases of endoscopically diagnozed reflux esophagitis(RE) and to explore the endoscopic and clinicopathologic characteristics of RE.Methods:Totally 916 RE patients from Lixiahe district in Jiangsu province(1997 2002) were graded with criterion made in Chinese Yantai in 1999.Some cases were subjected to pathology,age,sex,symptoms,endoscopic manifestations and pathology variety examination.Results:The incidence of RE was for 7.4% in endoscopic checked patients(916/12 376).The male to female ratio was 2.2∶1,mean age was (54.42?15.05),patients above 60 years old accounted for 46.5%.Only 32.6% of RE patients had typical reflux symptoms(426/916,299/916).Endoscopic diagnosis focused on Chinese Yantai standardⅠ Ⅱ (85.3%,781/916),pathology diagnosis focused on light to moderate degree,secondary RE was common in severe degree.Some patients were accompanied by bile reflux,esophagus gap hernia and peptic ulcer.Conclusion:The incidence of RE in Lixiahe district in Jiangsu province is rather high,it is common in middle aged and senior male patients(Ⅰ Ⅱ).Pathology variety is chiefly scalelike epithelial proliferation filled with chronic inflammatory cells.It was partly accompanied by atypical proliferation,erosion and ulcer,appearance of early cancer was occasionally found.The sensitivity of clinic symptoms diagnosis is lower than endoscopic diagnosis which is simple and of great value.

Objective The aim of the study is to approach the clinical significance of the change of ST segments after di- rect percutaneous transcoronary angioplasty(PTCA) combined with Lipo-PGE_1 in treating Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI).Methods The change of the ST segments on EKG of 76 patients with AMI are observed in 30 minutes after un- derwent direct PICA combined with Lipo-PGE_1,and the relations are analyzed that are prospectively to their therapy effect,the degree of injured cardiac muscle,the cardial functions,and the prognosis.Results The patients who treated with the PCTA combined with Lipo-PGE_1 ST segments on EKG 30 minutes after operations reduced significantly,cardiac muscle is injured lowly,their cardial functions are better.Conclusion The change of ST segments after direct percutane- ous transcoronary angioplasty (PTCA) combined with Lipo-PGE_1 in treating acute myocardial infarction is one of the guide line to estimate the perfnsion of cardiac muscle,and to estimate prognosis farther.
