Objective To evaluate the protective effect of estrogen on survival of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) after transient retinal ischemia-reperfusion (RIR) in rats. Methods RIR was induced in 60 ovariectomized adult rats (OVX) by increasing intraocular pressure via an intracameral catheter. All of the rats were divided into two groups randomly: in experimental group, the rats underwent a subcutaneous injection with 17?-estrodiol(100 ?g/kg) 2 hours before retinal ischemia; and in the control group, saline water was injected correspondingly. The number of RGCs and the thickness of the inner retinal layers were mesured by HE staining method before and 12, 24, 48, and 72 hours after reperfusion. TdT-mediated biotin-dUTP nick end labelling (TUNEL) staining technique was used to examine the apoptosis of RGCs. Results Twenty-four and 48 hours after reperfusion, the number of apoptotic cells in experimental group was obvious lower than that in the control group( P

Objective To observe the treatment effect of early rehabilitation training on acute cerebral infarction patients with hemiplegia, and to explore its possible mechanism. Methods One hundred cases of acute cerebral infarction hemiplegia in our hospital from January 2013 to June 2016 were selected and divided into the rehabilitation training group (50 cases) and control group (50 cases). The control group was given the routine medication therapy and the rehabilitation training group was given early rehabilitation training on the basis of conventional medication therapy. The functional independence assessment (FIM),Fugl-Meyer assessment (FMA) and modified Barthel index (MBI) were used to evaluate the therapeutic effect of early rehabilitation training. The level of stromal cell-derived factor-1α (SDF-1α) in peripheral blood was measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay, and the level of CD34+KDR+ in peripheral blood was measured by flow cytometry. Results There was no statistically significant difference in the FIM total score,FIM sports function score,FMA score,MBI score,SDF-1α and CD34+KDR+ levels before treatment between the rehabilitation training group and the control group (P>0.05).After treatment, the FIM total score,FIM sports function score,FMA score,MBI score and SDF-1α and CD34+KDR+ levels of the rehabilitation training group were higher than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The effect of early rehabilitation training on acute cerebral infarction patients with hemiplegic is remarkable. The mechanism may be related to promoting the expression of SDF-1α and CD34+KDR+ in peripheral blood.

Objective To discuss the value of MRI in diagnosis of complications related to pregnancy. Methods MRI were per-formed in 22 cases of late pregnancy,7 cases of postpartum with vagina bleeding, and 1 case with eight weeks of gestation following irregular vagina bleeding, respectively. The position of placenta and umbilical cord were observed in the cases of late pregnancy. The shape and signal features of embryo were evaluated in the case of eight weeks gestation following irregular vagina bleeding.Residual placenta and its relationship with the wall of uterus were analyzed in the cases of postpartum with vagina bleeding. Results Among the 22 cases of late pregnancy, normal position of placenta were in 4 cases, placenta previa were in 18 cases, umbilical cord winding around fetal neck in 8 cases.9 cases of placenta previa complicated with placenta accreta were comfirmed by cesarean delivery,how-ever,only 6 cases of placenta accreta were detected on MRI.The residual placenta with placenta accreta was found in all 7 cases of postpartum patients.Hydatidiform mole was proved by pathology in the case of eight weeks gestation following irregular vagina bleeding, and it was showed as a mass with hypointensity on T1 WI and hyperintensity on T2 WI in uterine cavity. Conclusion The complications related to pregnancy such as placenta previa, umbilical cord winding around fetal neck, residual placenta, placenta ac-creta could be correctly displayed on MRI.Hydatidiform mole also could be diagnosed by combining the clinical symptoms with MR images.

Objective To investigate and analyze the health care seeking behavior, financial burden and relative factors of patients with rheumatic diseases in Fujian Province. Methods Patients diagnosed with rheumatic diseases were investigated in Fujian Provincial Hospital from December 2013 to February 2014,including demographic data, health care seeking behavior and financial burden.Relevant factors were analyzed by Logistic regression. Results ① In this study,474 patients were enrolled. The ratio of male to female was 1∶2.38.② At the onset of symptoms,51.9%(246 cases) of patients visited a doctor as soon as possible, and 36.1%(171 cases) of them went to hospital within a month after disease onset.③ 74.1%(351 cases) of patients could adhere to medication regimen prescribed by doctors, and the most common reason for stopping medication was symptoms relieved (33.3%,41 cases).④ 63.1%(299 cases) of patients learned about the knowledge of rheumatic diseases from hospitals and doctors.⑤ 34.2%(162 cases) of patients spent 1 000-5 000 yuan every month on treatment.⑥ Insurance type could affect the time of first visit to hospital (P=0.004),while income and cost of therapy might impact patients' compliance (P=0.013,P=0.004).Conclusion Most patients will go to hospital as soon as possible and adhere to treatment.Economic situation is the main factor influencing health care seeking behavior of patients with rheumatic diseases.

Objective: To evaluate the prognostic value of chemotherapy-induced neutropenia (CIN) in metastatic colon cancer undergoing first-line chemotherapy with FOLFOX.Methods: Data were collected from a retrospective survey of 158 consecutive metastatic colon cancer patients who had undergone FOLFOX chemotherapy. The clinicopathological characteristics and chemotherapy features of the patients were analyzed as potential prognostic factors. The patients were stratified by the decreased level of CIN to three groups: large decreased level (the number of neutrophil decreased more than 1.0×109 compared with that before chemotherapy),small decreased level (the number of neutrophil decreased less than 1.0×109 compared with that before chemotherapy) and the absence of neutropenia. Results: According to a multivariate COX model, decreased level of CIN was a independent prognostic factor of colon cancer patients.Hazard ratios of death were 0.687 (95% CI: 0.381-0.812, P=0.016) for patients with large decreased level of CIN and 0.817 (95% CI: 0.527-0.939,P=0.027) for those with small decreased level of CIN compared with those of absent neutropenia patients.Median overall survival was 12.9 months (95% CI: 10.4-15.4) for patients without neutropenia (A) compared with 20.8 months (95% CI: 18.3-23.1) for patients with large-decreased level of CIN (L) and with 17.3 months (95% CI: 16.2-18.8) for those with small-decreased level of CIN (S vs.L, P=0.018;L vs.A, P=0.009;S vs.A, P=0.011).Conclusion: Our results demonstrate that the decreased level of CIN is a predictor of prognosis in patients with metastatic colon cancer undergoing FOLFOX chemotherapy.Patients who have experienced large decreased level of CIN haave longer survival time than small decreased level of CIN or absent patients. To monitor CIN decreased level timely and adjust chemotherapy drug dose may help improve the prognosis.
