Chinese Medical Ethics 2015;(5):689-691
People′s misunderstandings about the radiological check in health examination: Equalize the price of the medical check equipment with the accuracy of the check .The health examinees′misunderstanding about the harm which X-Ray can cause , thinking that low dose chest CT only can do very little harm to human body .The health examination unit makes the rate of finding out early lung tumor a main basis of assessing a medical personnel ′s achievement , which caused medical staff go against epidemiological laws when diagnosing tiny nodules .Misun-derstandings about some biological features such as the scale or the growing speed of the nidus , and laying exces-sive importance on the check accuracy , which caused some examinees received excessive X -Ray, overdiagnosis and overtreatment .So, people must treat radiological check in health examination rationally and dialectically , in order to further realize the legitimation and rationalization of radiological check .
2.The immune surveillance function of microglia in tumor
Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2011;29(12):1145-1148
As a part of the central nervous system, retina shares many characters of the brain, including many of the functions and dysfunctions of microglia.Microglia plays important roles in multiple inflammatory procedures and degenerative diseases of the central nervous system and retina.Retinal microglia is involved in ocular inflammatory,age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. These cells have also been identified in brain tumor and retinoblastoma. They can secrete various cytokines and growth factors that may contribute to the successful immune evasion and therefore promote the growth and invasion of tumor. To better understand the function of microglia is essential for us to develop the immune-based treatment strategies against central nervous system tumor and retinoblastoma.

Chinese Journal of Ultrasonography 2013;22(11):991-996
Objective To explore and establish the possible method of low-intensity pulsed ultrasound(LIPUS) irradiation directly combined with SonoVue microbubbles could enhance 5-azacytine (Aza) induced cardiomyogenic differentiation of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cellin(MSCs)vitro, initially explore the appropriate irradiation condition, and to provide experimental basic data for ultrasound-mediated microbubble destruction application in MSCs transplantation for acute myocardial infarction. Methods (1) In order to screen out the appropriate ultrasound irradiation intensity and time without conspicuous harm to MSCs,stem cells were exposed to different ultrasound intensity irradiation (0.11,0.33,0.55,0.77,0.99 W/cm2) and time (0,30,60,90 s) and then cell proliferation determined by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium(MTT).In order to screen out the appropriate microbubble-to-cell ratio without conspicuous harm to MSCs,stem cells of different microbubble-to-cell ratios (0,10,50,100,150) were exposed above the screened ultrasound irradiation intensity and time and then cell proliferation determined by MTT.(2) MSCs were divided into four groups and induced cardiomyogenic differentiation by different inducing systems in vitro as follows:no-treatment group,5-Aza inducing group(10 μmol/L),microbubble and ultrasound group,5-Aza inducing (10 μmol/L) with microbubble and ultrasound group, followed by four weeks of further culture. The morphological changes were studied daily under phase-contrast microscope, then the expression of cardiac troponin-T (cTnT) was detected by immunocytochemistry method to analyze and compare differentiation rate of cardiomyocyte-like cells in each group. Results (1)The direct ultrasound irradiation condition of no conspicuous harm to MSCs,but with destruction was intensity of 0.55 W/cm2,exposure time of 30 s and microbubble-to-cell ratio of 50.(2) This study confirmed the feasibility of direct ultrasound exposure of LIPUS on MSCs in vitro.(3) At 28 days after induction, the stem cells of 5-Aza inducing group and 5-Aza inducing with microbubble and ultrasound group expressed cTnT and the positive rate of the latter was higher than the former by immunocytochemistry (13.69% vs 34.13%,P <0.05).Conclusions The appropriate ultrasound direct irradiation condition was intensity of 0.55 W/cm2,exposure time of 30 s and microbubble-to-cell ratio of 50.Appropriate conditions of LIPUS could enhance 5-Aza induced cardiomyogenic differentiation of MSCs in vitro.
6.Advances in pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria
Journal of Leukemia & Lymphoma 2016;25(4):252-256
Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) is a rare disorder of hematopoietic stem cells due to acquisition of somatic mutations.Somatic mutations in phosphatidylinositol glycan class A (PIGA) account for intravascular hemolysis and other PNH manifestations, but the pathophysiology of clonal expansion of PNH cells cannot be elucidated clearly.PNH is closely related to aplastic anemia and myelodysplastic syndromes.Today, the gold standard for PNH is flow cytometry to detect the absence or severe deficiency of glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored proteins on white and red blood cells. However,PNH diagnosed by phenotype is a group of heterogeneous disease in pathogenesis.Eculizumab,a first-in-class monoclonal antibody that inhibits terminal complement,is highly effective in stopping intravascular hemolysis and improving quality of life.Further research on the pathogenesis of PNH would be helpful to understand the underlying reasons for PNH phenotype cells in different patients, improve differential diagnosis and more targeted and specific therapy.Research progress in recent years will be reviewed in this article.

8.Current study of Toll-like receptor and fundus disease
Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2013;31(10):988-991
Toll-like receptors (TLRs) can recognize pathogens associated molecular of micro-organisms,leading to activation of the downstream signal transduction pathway and participate in innate and adaptive immune response.TLRs can also recognize endogenous danger signaling molecule and therefore be involved in pathogenesis of many low-grade chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.TLRs are always expressed on immune cells, and recent studies confirmed that retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cells also express TLRs.This review focuses on the research progress of fundus diseases and TLRs,such as the recognition of exogenous pathogenic microorganisms and endogenous danger signals in fundus, induction of inflammatory response, phagocytosis of photoreceptor outer segment by RPE and angiogenesis of fundus diseases.
9.KINETICS OF SELENIUM UPTAKE INTO PLATELETS, LIVER AND PLASMA OF SELENIUM-DEFICIENT RATS

Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(04):-
A one time large dose of selenium with label was injected to Se deficient rats. Platelets, liver and PPP were assayed for GSH-Px activity and determined the uptake of Se. The results showed that platelet GSH-Px activity would also be a good index in reflecting the abrupt change of Se status. It can be changed rapidly and significantly. The results also demostrated that platelet GSH-Px trends to reflect GSH-Px in the liver which is the organ with the most labile Se pool. Platelet GSH-Px may be a suitable index of selenium status for determine the bioavilability of selenium from various food sources in short-term human studies. When different form of Se was given, GSH-Px activity in platelet, liver and PPP expressed on a protein basis was similar in the selenite and selenomethionine administered groups. However, Se uptake of platelet, liver and PPP was greater in the selenomethionine versus the selenite group, indicating that selenomethionine was being taken up nonspecifically into platelet protein other than GSH-Px. This fact was also shown by the lower platelet GSH-Px specific activity. There might be another metabolic way for Se. More work is needed to clarify metabolism of selenium in tissue.
10.Efficacy of dexmedetomidine mixed with ropivacaine for transversus abdominis plane block combined with general anesthesia in patients undergoing gynecological laparoscopy
Chinese Journal of Anesthesiology 2015;35(9):1114-1117
Objective To evaluate the efficacy of dexmedetomidine mixed with ropivacaine for transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block combined with general anesthesia in the patients undergoing gynecological laparoscopy. Methods Ninety American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status Ⅰ or Ⅱ patients, aged 20-50 yr, with body mass index of 18-24 kg/m2, scheduled for elective gynecological laparoscopic ovarian cyst resection under general anesthesia, were randomly divided into 3 groups (n =30 each) using a random number table: general anesthesia group (group G) , general anesthesia + ropivacaine for TAP block group (group G+R), and general anesthesia + dexanedetomidine mixed with ropivacaine for TAP block group (group G+DR).After the end of anesthesia induction, ultrasound-guided left-sided unilateral TAP block was performed in G+R and G+DR groups. In G+R and G+DR groups, 20 ml of 0.375% ropivacaine and 20 ml of 0.375% ropivacaine mixed with 1 μg/kg dexmedetomidine were injected, respectively. After induction of general anesthesia, the laryngeal mask airway (LMA) was inserted, and the patients were mechanically ventilated in the 3 groups.Anesthesia was maintenaned with iv infusion of remifentanil 0.2 μg · kg-1 · min-1 and propofol 4-8 mg · kg-1 · h-1.Narcotrend index was maintained at 37-46.Only group G received postoperative intravenous analgesia. The occurrence of TAP block-related adverse events was recorded. The emergence time, time for recovery of spontaneous breathing, time for removal of LMA, and Steward score at 5 min after removal of LMA were recorded. The occurrence of postoperative nausea and vomiting, and respiratory depression was recorded. Results Compared with G and G+R groups, the emergence time, time for recovery of spontaneous breathing, and time for removal of LMA were significantly shortened (P<0.05 or 0.01) , and no significant change was found in Steward score in group G+DR (P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the above parameters between group G and group G+R (P>0.05).Compared with group G, the incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting was significantly decreased in G+R and G+DR groups (P<0.05).VAS score was maintained ≤ 3 after operation in the 3 groups. No TAP block-related adverse events were found in G+R and G+DR groups. Conclusion Dexmedetomidine mixed with ropivacaine provides faster recovery from anesthesia, and avoids postoperative hyperalgesia when used for TAP block combined with general anesthesia in the patients undergoing gynecological laparoscopy.
