1.Extraction of Volatile Oil from Chrysanthemum indicum and Preparation Techniques of Its ?-cyclodextrin Inclusion Compound

OBJECTIVE:To optimize the extraction conditions of volatile oil from Chrysanthemum indicum and the processing techniques of its ?-yclodextrin(?-CD) inclusion compound.METHODS:The extraction conditions of volatile oil from Chrysanthemum indicum was optimized taking soaking time,ultrasonic treatment time,water amount as influencing factors and with the yield of the volatile oil as index.The processing techniques of the ?-yclodextrin (?-CD) inclusion compound was optimized taking the ratio of ?-CD to volatile oil,the time and temperature of the inclusion process as indexes and with the yield of the inclusion compound and the inclusion rate of the volatile oil as indexes. RESULTS:The optimal process for oil extraction was as follows:the soaking time=1.5 h,the ultrasonic treatment time= 40 min,heating time=6 h,water amount=600 mL.The optimal processing conditions for(?-CD) inclusion compound of Chrysanthemum indicum were as follows: the ratio of ?-CD to volatile oil=8∶1,the inclusion time of the compound was 2 hours at 40 ℃.CONCLUSION:High extraction yield of vlatile oil and stable inclusion compound were obtained from the above method.
2.Effect of electro-scalp acupuncture on metabolism of glucose in brain functional region of patients with depression

BACKGROUND:It is suggested that glucose metabolism of frontal lobes,cingulate gyri and caudate nuclei in cerebral functional area of patients with depression is low,and the blood flow in cerebellum decreases.OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of scalp acupuncture on cerebral glucose metabolism in depression by positron emission tomography.DESIGN:Randomly controlled and verifying experiment.SETTING:Department of Acupuncture and Aoxibustion in Nanfang Hospital and Center of Positron Emission Tomography in a Guangdong People's hospital.PARTICIPANTS:Twelve patients of primary depression,from Nanfang Hospital,Zhujiang Hospital and Center of Positron Emission Tomography in Guangdong People's Hospital from October 2002 to October 2003,were selected randomly with the diagnostic criteria of [F32] in the Third Edition of the Chinese Classification and Diagnostic Criteria of Mental Disease.Among them,3 were male and 9 were female.Their ages were from 36 to 66 years,with the average of 48.METHODS:Giving scalp acupuncture in middle line of vertex(MS5),middle line of forehead(MS1) and bilateral lateral line 1 of forehead(MS2).All the patients received positron emission tomography examination before and after acupuncture treatment for 6 weeks.Then cerebral Regions of Interest,bilateral frontal lobes,bilateral caudate nuclei,bilateral cingulate gyri and bilateral cerebella,were chosen and their average glucose metabolisms were counted by half-quantifying analysis.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Glucose metabolism of bilateral frontal lobes,bilateral caudate nuclei,bilateral cingulate gyri and bilateral cerebella.RESULTS:According to intension,all 12 patients with primary depression sults of right frontal lobes(2.91 ±0.34),left frontal lobes(2.96±0.26),right cingulate gyri(2.68±0.20),right caudate nuclei (2.61±0.39) and left cerebellum(2.55±0.18)were obviously higher than those of right frontal lobes(2.53±0.31),left frontal lobes(2.53±0.36),right cingulate gyri(2.34±0.31),right caudate nuclei(2.40±0.33) and left cerebellum(2.35±0.25)before treatment(P< 0.05-0.01).However, the results of left cingulate gyri (2.69 ±0.38),left caudate nuclei(2.66±0.01) and right cerebellum(2.50±0.27) were similar to those of left cingulate gyri(2.43±0.38),left caudate nuclei(2.45±0.21) and right cerebellum(2.30±0.34) before treatment(P > 0.05).CONCLUSION:Scalp acupuncture on middle line of vertex,middle line of forehead and bilateral lateral line 1 of forehead could improve the glucose metabolism in depressive patients of certain cerebral regions,and it might be a mechanism related to improvement of frontal lobes,caudate nuclei,cingulate gyri and cerebellum.
3.Impact of lung volume reduction surgery on inflammatory factors, pulmonary function and quality of life in patients with severe chronic obstructive pulmonary emphysema

Objective To study the impact of lung volume reduction surgery on inflammatory factors, pulmonary function and quality of life in patients with severe chronic obstructive pulmonary emphysema. Methods 57 cases patients with severe chronic obstructive pulmonary emphysema received lung volume reduction surgery from May 2009 to December 2013 were divided into observation group 32 cases and control group 25 cases, the control group were given open chest surgery, the observation group received video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery. Then compare the operation indicator, serum inflammatory factor content, pulmonary function and life quality score between the two groups. Results Operation indicators: Observation group: Intraoperative blood loss, thoracic drainage, hospital stay were significantly lower than that in control group (P< 0.05); Inflammatory factor: 3 d after surgery, observation group serum TNF-α, IL- 6, IL- 1 content were significantly lower than that in control group (P<0.05);Pulmonary function: 12 months after surgery, there were no statistical difference of FEV1, TLC, RV between two groups (P>0.05); SGRQ score: 12 weeks after the surgery, observation group respiratory symptoms, activity ability, disease im﹣pact, SGRQ total score were significantly lower than the control group (P< 0.05). Conclusion Video assisted tho﹣racic surgery helps to reduce surgical trauma, and alleviate inflammatory reaction, then improve the quality of life.
4.Effect of berberine combined with levofloxacin on myocardial enzymes, isozymes and serum inflammatory factors in children with diarrhea

Objective To analyse effect of berberine combined with levofloxacin on myocardial enzymes, isozymes and serum inflammatory factors in children with diarrhea.Methods 58 patients who were diagnosed with pediatric infectious diarrhea in our hospital were collected.All patients were randomly divided into experimental group and control group, 29 cases in each group.two groups of patients were given routine treatment, including infusion, maintaining water and electrolyte balance, supplemental calories etc.On the basis of routine treatment, control group was intravenous dripped with levofloxacin injection 200mL,one times per day,and experimental group was treated with berberine hydrochloride tables 0.2 g orally on the basis of control group.The treatment period was one week of two group.After one week of treatment, the serum levels of myocardial enzymes, isozymes, inflammatory factors and clinical curative effect were detected in all patients.Results Compared with control group post-treatment,the serum AST,ALT and LDH levels were lower than that of experimental group(P<0.05);the serum CK and CK-MB levels were lower than that of experimental group(P<0.05);the serum TNF-α,IL-6 and IL-10 levels were lower than that of experimental group(P<0.05);the total effective rate was higher in experimental group(P<0.05).Conclusion The berberine combined with levofloxacin can significantly reduce the serum myocardial enzymes, isozymes and serum inflammatory factors in children with diarrhea, improve clinical curative effect.
5.Angiogenic factors in osteonecrosis of the femoral head

BACKGROUND: A variety of angiogenic factors are involved in bone healing after osteonecrosis of the femoral head.
OBJECTIVE:To explore the role and mechanism of angiogenic factors in osteonecrosis of the femoral head.
METHODS: A computed-based online search of PubMed, Google and SpringerLink databases was performed using the key words of “angiogenic factors, osteonecrosis of the femoral head, vascular endothelial growth factor, angiopoietin-1, fibroblast growth factor-2, hypoxia inducible factor-1, calcitonin gene related peptide and hypoxia inducible factor-1α” for literatures published from December 1980 to May 2015.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Finaly, 68 articles were included. Bone angiogenesis which is dependent on special signaling factors in the microenvironment is closely linked with bone repair. A variety of cytokines, such as vascular endothelial growth factor, angiopoietin-1, fibroblast growth factor-2, platelet-derived growth factor, calcitonin gene-related peptide, and hypoxia inducible factor-1α, have been identifiedto control angiogenesis in different ways and be involved in the repair of necrotic femoral head.
6.Analysis of restricting factors of long-term care of stroke survivors in community

Objective To investigate the restricting factors of long-term care of stroke survivors in community.Methods The phenomenological methodology was adopted in the study.Sixteen stroke survivors were interviewed.Data were analyzed by Colaizzi's method.Results Three themes were found,including physical barriers,incorrect attitude towards disease,and defects of community health service.Conclusions On the basis of improving technology and ability,medical workers in community should consider of supporting the patients with information of disease and useful resources in a variety of ways,and improving the patients health literacy.
7.Characteristics of volunteer blood donors with regular apheresis platelets in Zhoushan City

Objective:
To investigate the characteristics of volunteer blood donors with regular apheresis platelets in Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province, so as to provide insights into recruitment of regular blood donors.
Methods:
Gender, age, occupation, educational level, and volume and times of blood donation were collected from volunteer blood donors with apheresis platelets in Zhoushan Central Blood Station during the period from 2019 to 2021 through the Zhejiang Provincial Blood Management Information System BIS version 3.0, and the willingness of blood donation, routes for acquiring blood donation knowledge and cause of blood donation were collected from volunteer blood donors with regular apheresis platelets using questionnaire surveys. The factors affecting regular apheresis platelets were identified among volunteer blood donors using a multivariable logistic regression model.
Results:
Totally 236 volunteer blood donors participated in regular apheresis platelets in Zhoushan City from 2019 to 2021, accounting for 51.08% of all volunteer blood donors with regular apheresis platelets, and there were 1 488 blood donations, accounting for 71.23% of all volunteer blood donations with apheresis platelets. A total of 2 086.00 U platelets were donated, accounting for 71.82% of all volumes of volunteer blood donations with apheresis platelets. The volunteer blood donors included 160 men (67.80%) and 76 women (32.20%) and had an age of 35 (17) years. There were 63 employees (26.69%) and 111 with a bachelor degree and above (47.03%). Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed a high proportion of regular blood donations among participants at ages of 31 to 60 years (OR:1.767-3.257, 95%CI: 1.010-6.250), university students (OR=2.598, 95%CI: 1.238-5.450) and civil servants (OR=2.733, 95%CI: 1.193-6.263). There were 228 participants with willingness to continue to participate in volunteer blood donation with regular apheresis platelets (96.61%), and 215 participants with a history of participating in volunteer blood donation surveys (91.10%). Internet was the predominant route for acquiring knowledge about apheresis platelet donation (41.10%), and “think that blood donation is a meaningful thing” was the predominant cause of participating in volunteer apheresis platelet donation (33.05%).
Conclusions
There is a high proportion of regular blood donation among civil servants and university students.
8.Analysis of the status of stroke survivors' adherence to functional exercise in the community and countermeasures

Objective To analyse the adherence of community-dwelling stroke survivors to functional exercise regimens and explore the influencing factors.Then to establish measures to improve the situation.Methods A total of 208 stroke survivors from 10 communities were randomly recruited.Four questionnaires-a general information questionnaire,an exercise adherence questionnaire,a self-efficacy perceptions scale and a perceived social support scale-were administered.Results The mean adherence score was 34.71 ± 8.45 and the mean adherence rate was 61.98%.The compliance to physical exercise,seeking advice positively and exercise effectiveness monitoring scores ranged from highest to lowest in order.Self-efficacy perceptions and perceived social support were both positively correlated with the adherence rate.Multiple linear regression showed that the influencing factors included self efficacy perceptions,social support perceptions,self-care ability and age.Conclusions The community stroke survivors' exercise adherence was moderate in general,but it could be improved by increasing their self-efficacy and social support perceptions and their self-care ability.
9.Pharmaceutical Care for One Case of Rheumatoid Arthritis Complicated with Severe Pneumonia

Objective:To explore the role of clinical pharmacists in the drug treatment of one patient with rheumatoid arthritis and severe pneumonia. Methods: The drug treatment of one patient with rheumatoid arthritis and severe pneumonia involved in clinical pharmacists was retrospectively analyzed. Clinical pharmacists provided rational suggestions for the adjustment of anti-infection treat-ment,selection of medication, evaluation of therapeutic effect and monitoring of adverse drug reactions. Results: Clinical pharmacists participated in the whole medication treatment process, and their suggestions on anti-infection drugs choices, dose adjustment and ad-verse reactions treatment were accepted by doctors. Conclusion:Taking use of self professional competence, clinical pharmacists play a positive role in the optimization and adjustment of drug treatment regimen, which provides security for the medication safety and clini-cal rational drug use.
10.Effects of rt-PA intravenous thrombolysis on blood-brain barrier permeability, the expressions and the activities of MMP-2 and MMP-9 after cerebral ischemia in rats

Objective To investigate the effects of recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (rt-PA)intravenous thrombolysis on blood-brain barrier (BBB) permeability,the expressions and the activities of MMP-2 and MMP-9 after cerebral ischemia in rats.Methods A total of 40 adult male Sprague-Dawley rats were allocated into 3 groups:Sham operation group (n =10),middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) group (n =18),and rt-PA thrombolysis group (n =18).A MCAO model was established by using autologous thromboembolism.The sham operation group did not inject any thromboembolus,the MCAO group only made MCAO,and the rt-PA thrombolysis group received intravenous thrombolysis with rt-PA at 3 hours after MCAO.Brain infarct volume was determined by 2,3,5-triphenyl tetrazolium chloride staining BBB permeability was measured by Evans blue dye leakage.The activities and the expressions of MMP-2 and MMP-9 in brain tissue were detected by Gelatin zymography and Western blot,respectively.Results Compared to the MCAO group,the neurological function was improved significantly in the rt-PA thrombolysis group,and the infarct volume was also reduced significantly (t =7.365,P =0.005).However,the hemorrhage score (t =-3.286,P =0.017) and BBB permeability (t =-3.947,P =0.029) were increased significantly.The activities and the expressions of MMP-2 and MMP-9 in the sham operation group were lower.The activities and the expressions of MMP-2 (t =-45.121,P =0.000; t =-11.624,P=0.000) and MMP-9 (t=-71.849,P=0.000; t=-8.992,P=0.000) in the MCAO group were increased and upregulated significantly.Compared to the MCAO group,the activities and the expressions of MMP-2 (t =-28.792,P =0.000; t =-3.809,P =0.013) and MMP-9 (t =-53.506,P =0.000; t =-2.640,P =0.046) in the rt-PA thrombolysis group were increased and upregulated significantly.Conclusions After rt-PA intravenous thrombolytic therapy,the BBB permeability was increased.The activities and the expressions of MMP-2 and MMP-9 were increased and upregulated.MMP-2 and MMP-9 might participate in the increased BBB permeability,and thus inducing hemorrhagic transformation after rt-PA intravenous thrombolytic therapy in rats with cerebral ischemia.
