Objective To investigate the effect of traditional Chinese medicine combined with five steps of neck manipulation in treating cervical vertigo.Methods From 2010 October to 2012 October,90 patients with cervical vertigo in our department inpatient and outpatient, according to the order of admission or the visiting sequence, were randomly divided into a control group and a observation group, 45 cases in each group. The control group was given traditional Chinese medicine decoction with cervical traction; the observation group was given the TCM recipe combined with five steps of neck manipulation”. The vertigo symptoms, functional evaluation and clinical efficacy were observed in both groups.Results After the treatment, the clinical symptoms and functional assessment scale scores of the observation group was significantly lower than that in control group(t=6.942,P<0.05), improve index in the observation group was better than that in control group(t=6.831,P<0.05). The cure rate and the effective rate of the observation group(88.89%)was also better than that in control group(66.67%),χ2=6.738,P<0.05. Conclusion Traditional Chinese medicine combined with five steps of neck manipulation can actually improve symptoms and function effect in treating cervical vertigo, worthy of further study.

Objective:This study was aimed to explore the apoptotic effect the K562 cells treated by resveratrol and/or arabinosylcytosin.Methods:Fas/FasL expressian was detected by immunohistochemical method and survivin expression was detected by RT-PCR in K562 cells,48 hours after treatment by resveratrol and arabinosylcytosin respectively.Results: Fas/FasL expression in K562 cells,treated by resveratrol and arabinosylcytosin respectively,was significantly increased compared with the control group(P0.05),contrary to FasL expression(P0.05).Conclusions:In conclusion the resveratrol and/or arabinosylcytosin could upregulate Fas/FasL expression and activate the apoptosis pathway of Fas/FasL to induce the apoptosis of K562 cells.It could downregulate the expression of survivin to promote apoptosis.The two drugs had synergistic effect.

Objective:A method for the quantitative determination of adenosine phosphates of mouse myocardium by HPLC is described.Methods:A ODS C 18 column and a mobile phase of methol-50mmol?L -1 phosphate (1∶99)buffer solution (pH 6.07),with UV detector at 254nm were used.Results:The average recovery rates of ATP,ADP and AMP were 101.7%?9.3%,94.8%?10.6% and 98.3%?5.7% respectively;the RSDs of within-day were 3.5%,6.8% and 4.8%,and the RSDs of between-days were 6.4%,8.6% and 8.2%,respectively.Conclusion:The method is simple,rapid and senstive and can be used to analyse the adenosine phosphates in myocardium.The myocardial contents of ATP,ADP as well as AMP decline notably in mice with viral myocarditis.

Objective:To investigate the clinical value of bone marrow smears for the diagnosis of disseminated histoplasmosis(PDH).Methods:The clinical manifestation,laboratory test,diagnoses and treatment of 7 cases were analyzed.Results:The clinical manifestations varied.7 cases were diagnosed on the basis of careful examination of bone marrow smears,and treated with amphotericin B,fluconazole or itraconazole respectively.All of the 3 drugs were effective.Conclusion:The cellular examination of bone marrow smears is simple,and it has important clinical value for the diagnosis of PDH.

AIM:To investigate the relationship of autophagy and reactive oxygen species ( ROS) in multiple myeloma cell line RPMI-8226 stimulated with doxorubicin.METHODS:The RPMI-8226 cells were stimulated with doxo-rubicin at different doses, and untreated cells were used as control.The protein expression of beclin 1 and LC3 was detec-ted by Western blot.ROS production was analyzed by DCFH-DA fluorescence staining.After treated with or without 3-methyladenine (3-MA), the ROS production and apoptosis in RPMI-8226 cells were determined by DCFH-DA and flow cy-tometry, respectively.After treated with or without antioxidants tempol and N-acetyl-L-cysteine ( NAC) , the expression of beclin 1 and LC3 in RPMI-8226 cells was determined by Western blot.RESULTS:The protein levels of beclin 1 and LC3Ⅱ/LC3Ⅰwere increased in the RPMI-8226 cells stimulated with doxorubicin compared with untreated group.The ROS production was increased in the RPMI-8226 cells stimulated with 2 mg/L doxorubicin compared with untreated group.After treated with 3-MA, the ROS production and apoptosis in the RPMI-8226 cells stimulated with doxorubicin were increased compared with doxorubicin group.After treated with antioxidant NAC or tempol, the expression of beclin 1 and LC3 II/I in the RPMI-8226 cells stimulated with doxorubicin was decreased compared with doxorubicin group.CONCLUSION:The autophagy and ROS levels are increased in RPMI-8226 cells stimulated with doxorubicin.Inhibition of autophagy increases the ROS production and apoptosis of RPMI-8226 cells stimulated with doxorubicin.Inhibition of ROS production reduces doxorubicin-induced autophagy in multiple myeloma cells.

AIM: To investigate the influence of matrine on cyclin E and cyclin A in U937 cell strain. METHODS: The inhibitory effect of matrine on proliferation in U937 cell strain was observed by MTT.The distribution of cell cycle was measured by flow cytometry.Immunocytochemical method and Western blot were used to detect the protein expression of cyclin E and cyclin A. RESULTS: After being treated with matrine,the proliferation of U937 cell strain was inhibited significantly,the inhibiting effect conformed to time and dose-dependence,cells were arrested in S-phase.The expression of cyclin E and cyclin A was down-regulated significantly in a dose-dependence manner. CONCLUSION: Matrine could reduce the expression of cyclin E and cyclin A and inhibit the proliferation in U937 cell strain.

OBJECTIVE: To summarize the techniques, methods and applications of proteomics in leukemia. DATA SOURCES: A computer-based online search of Medline database between January 2001 and March 2006 was undertaken to identify relevant articles published in English by using the keywords of "proteomics, leukemia". Meanwhile, Chinese articles published from January 2001 to March 2006 were searched in Weipu database, with the keywords of "proteomics, leukemia". STUDY SELECTION: The data were checked firstly, and the articles with repetitive contents were deleted, and then the full-texts of the rest articles in recent 5 years were obtained. Inclusive criteria:①original works about proteomics;②original works about leukemia;③original works about the relation between proteomics and leukemia. Exclusive criteria: repetitive studies and Meta analysis. DATA EXTRACTION: Totally 107 articles about the proteomics and leukemia were collected, and the repetitive or similar studies were excluded, finally 30 articles were involved, including 11 about the proteomics and 19 about the advancement of proteomics and leukemia. DATA SYNTHESIS: Proteomics is a novel science that is aimed to study proteome by various techniques and to analyze the cornpositions, expressions and modifications of protein entirely. The decussation of proteomics, genomics and bioinformatics has formed the mode of the systemic bioresearch. Leukemia, the common malignant tumor in the hematological system, is prone to be multi-drug resistant after chemotherapy, whose mechanism is not clear. Blood proteome consists of all the protein expressed in the hematological system, and investigates the mechanism of proliferation, differentiation and abnormal transformation of leukemic cells, as well as the early diagnosis and treatment of leukemia. Additionally, it illuminates the correlation of protein's expression with the occurrence and development of leukemia, so as to provide the scientific evidences for searching new drugs and diagnosing prognosis. Proteomics will help a lot in elucidating the pathogenesis of leukemia, the prognostic judgment, the choice of chemotherapy drugs, and the individualized treatment. CONCLUSION: Proteomics can provide rationale for the individualized treatment and the prognostic judgment of leukemia.

Plant extracts are kinds of important anticancer drugs.Anticancer drugs research has focused on several important plant extracts such as resveratrol,ricin,epigallocatechin-3-gallate,oridonin,juglone,quercetin,matrine,nordihydroguaiaretic acid.In vitro and in vivo studies have shown that their antitumor mechanisms including induction of apoptosis,cytotoxicity,induced redifferentiation,antiangiogesis,antiinvasion and anti-metastasis.Plant extracts have multi-link and multi-target.Part of them have been used in preclinical studies.In-depth study of the anti-tumor mechanisms of plant extracts on cancer treatment is important,and the full mechanism needs further study.

Objective To investigate proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) gene expression in retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) cells and inhibition of antisense oligonucleotides(AS OND) encoding PCNA mRNA to gene expression and proliferation of RPE cells, so as to search for new genetic therapy way for pro1iferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR). Methods (1) Rabbit RPE cells cultured in vitro were detected for PCNA expression by streptoavidin biotin enzyme complex (SABC) immunohistochemistry at several times. (2) The liposome mediated synthetic antisense oligodeoxynucleotides (AS ODN) and sense oligodeoxynucleotides (S ODN) encoding PCNA were delivered to the RPE cells at different concentrations, then PCNA expresstion were detected by immunohistochemistry. (3) Exposed to different concentrations of AS ODN and S ODN, growth activity and suppressive rate of RPE cells were measured by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) methods. Results (1) PCNA were expressed in RPE cells, culmination in 48 hours of culture. (2) PCNA expression were markedly suppressed in the RPE cells treated with 0.28 and 1.12 ?mol/L PCNA AS ODN . (3) 0.28 ?mol/L and 1.12 ?mol/L PCNA AS ODN significantly inhibited proliferative activity of RPE cells in a dose dependent manner, the arrest rates of cellular growth reached 53% and 81% respectively. Conclusion AS ODN complementary to PCNA mRNA at some concentration can sequence specifically suppress PCNA expression in RPE cells and cellular proliferative activity, and show potential application to further experimental study for PVR genetic medication.
