1.Arthroscopic one-stage reconstruction of anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments with LARS artificial ligaments
Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2017;19(8):727-729
Objective To evaluate the efficacy of arthroscopic one-stage reconstruction of anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments with LARS artificial ligaments. Methods From October 2009 to December 2011, 8 patients with combined injury to anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments received arthroscopic one-stage reconstruction with LARS artificial ligaments. They were 7 men and one woman, aged from 26 to 52 years ( average, 35. 3 years ) . The time from injury to operation ranged from 17 to 21 days, averaging 19 days. Pre-operative and intraoperative inspections showed complete tear of both anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments. Inter national Knee Documentation Committee ( IKDC ) scoring was used at 6 months postoperation to grade the knee movement of the patients; Lysholm scoring was used at final follow-ups to evaluate the knee function. Results The operating time for this series ranged from 85 to 102 minutes ( average, 93 minutes ) . All the patients were followed up for 6 to 24 months ( average, 12 months ) . Wound infection at upper tibia occurred in one patient, which responded to debridement and screwing 4 weeks after operation. All the patients got rid of instability of the knee joint, and gained normal knee extension and fine functional recovery. At final follow-ups, the range of motion of the knee ranged from 100° to 125° ( average, 108. 4°) . Follow-ups revealed no breakage or loosening of the ligaments. By the IKDC scoring, of the 8 patients who had been graded all as D before opera-tion, one was improved into A and 7 into B. The Lysholm scores at final follow-ups averaged 86. 1+4. 8, sig-nificantly higher than the postoperative value ( 18. 7+3. 1 ) ( P < 0. 05 ) . Conclusion Arthroscopic one-stage reconstruction of anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments with LARS artificial ligaments can restore the stability of knee joint and obtain satisfactory short-term results.
2.Preservatives in eyedrops: the advantages, the disadvantages and the countermeasure of use
Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2013;32(11):1003-1005
Preservative is added to multidose eyedrops to ensure that the eyedrops do not become heavily contaminated during patient use,if the active component in the eyedrops do not have a potent antimicrobial effect. There is a large body of evidence from experimental and clinical studies showing that the long-term use of eyedrops with preservative may induce ocular surface damage. It is a system engineering to control the microbial contamination of eyedrops and to relieve ocular surface damage of preservatives. It is the responsibility of drug regulatory departments, the duty of the medicine workers, and the innovativeness studys of the scientific researcher. Then, the best benefit is acquired by the extensive patient with eye disorders.

4.Analysis on levels of serum adiponectin and homocysteine in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes complicating retinopathy
Chongqing Medicine 2016;45(33):4669-4671,4674
Objective To explore the levels of serum adiponectin(APN)and homocysteine(Hcy)in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes metlitus(T2DM)complicating retinopathy and the relation between these two indicators. Methods Sixt-eight cases of complicating retinopathy(T2DM+DR group)were screened from the elderly inpatients with T2DM in our hospital from January 2012 to December 2014.Their general data were investigated. The routine biochemical indicators were tested. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)was employed to measure the serum total APN,high molecular weight APN and Hcy levels.Mean while the correlation among total APN,high molecular weight APN and Hcy was evaluated by adopting the Pearson correlation analysis.Contemporaneous 65 cases of elderly T2DM and 70 elderly people undergoing the healthy physical examination were chosen as the T2DM group and NC group respectively. Results The WHR,FBP,TC,TG,LDL-C,HbA1c,FINS and HOMA-IR in the T2DM+DR group and T2DM group were higher than those in the NC group, while the HDL-C level was lower than that in the NC group(P<0.05);the duration and BMI of the T2DM-4-DR group were higher than those of the T2DM group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the levels of total APN and high molecular weight APN in the T2DM+DR group and T2DM group were lower than those in the NC group, while the Hcy level was higher than that in the NC group(P<0.05);moreover the levels of total APN and high molecular weight APN in the T2DM+DR group were lower than those in the T2DM group, and Hey level was higher than that in the T2DM group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the levels of total APN(r=-0.654)and high molecular weight APN(r=-0.562)were negatively correlated with the Hey level in the T2DM+DR group(P< 0.05).Conclusion The serum APN level is decreased and Hcy level is increased in elderly patients with T2DM complicating retinopathy, which may be associated with the progression of retinopathy in T2DM.
6.Structural Classification and Functional Characterization ofShort-Chain Scorpion Toxic Peptides
Progress in Biochemistry and Biophysics 2001;28(1):44-48
Recent research has revealed that scorpion venom contains short-chain peptides with the specificity on K+or C1-channels, in addition to the knowledge of many kinds of long-chain peptides with the specificity on Na+ channels. According to the similarity of molecular structure and/or function, they have been classified into several groups. These short-chain scorpion peptides are playing more and more important role in studying the structure and function of K+ or C1- channels. The advance of structure and function of short-chain scorpion peptides in recent years was briefly introduced.
7.Epigenetic regulation and gastric cancer
Journal of International Oncology 2012;39(4):292-295
The initiation and development of gastric cancer is due to the effects from both external and internal factors.Recent researches show that external environment factors regulate and control the key genes expression during the process of cell's growth and development through epigenetic modification such as DNA methylation or demethylation, histone modification and small RNA,thus playing an important role in gastric cancer's occurrence and development.
8.Influence of thymus transplantation on T cell subsets of peripheral blood in patients with allergic rhinitis
Chinese Journal of Organ Transplantation 1998;19(3):177-179
Cultured human embryonal thymus graft was performed on 80 patients with allergic rhinitis to observe the immune function of the patients and the treatment efficiency. The thymus from the fetus of intermediate abortion was cultured for 7 to 10 days. The T cell subsets and serum antigen special IgE(sas IgE) level of the patients were determined before and after the thymus transplantation. The gross treatment efficiency is up to 92.4% among the trial patients after graft for 3 years and CD8 positive cells were increased with a significantly statistical difference (P<0.01), and sas IgE level was much lower than before thymus transplantation (P<0.01). It was concluded that the thymus transplantation might regulate the immune function of the patients with allergic rhinitis, including increases in the number and the function of Ts cells, and a decrease of IgE level.
