Protein Z (PZ) is a vitamin K-dependent protein. As a cofactor for the protein Z-dependent protease inhibitor (ZPI), it inhibits coagulation factor X under the existence of phospholipid and calcium ion, and increases the ZPI activity by nearly 1000-fold, thus it plays a role in the process of thrombosis. ZPI inhibits coagulation factor Ⅺ a alone. ZPI activity is also consumed in the process of inhabiting factor Ⅹa and Ⅺa. This article reviews the biological characteristics of PZ and ZPI and their association with stroke.

Objective: To explore the effect of selenium-protein polysaccharide extracted from Qinba (selenium-mushroom)(秦巴硒菇) on apoptosis of K562 cells.Methods: Tumor-bearing mice model was established,and selenium-protein polysaccharide extracted from Qinba selenium-mushroom contained-herb serum was prepared by the method of serum pharmacology.K562 cells were conventionally cultured.Growth inhibition rate of tumor cells was detected by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium(MTT) method.Morphological changes of apoptotic cell were observed under a fluorescent microscope.Cell apoptosis was observed by DNA electrophoresis.Caspase3 relative gene was measured by colorimetry.Results: Selenium-protein(polysaccharide) extracted from Qinba selenium-mushroom could significantly inhibit the growth of K562 cells,there was a remarkably positive correlation between drug concentration,time and inhibitory rate.Apoptotic phenomenon was certained via morphological examination and DNA electrophoresis.Compared with control group,caspase3 gene was markedly upregulated.Conclusion: Selenium-protein(polysaccharide) extracted from Qinba selenium-mushroom could induce apoptosis of K562 cells.The mechanism may be related to upregulation of caspase3.

OBJECTIVE: To summary the application of new types of nanoparticles carriers emerged in recent years in drug or gene delivery. METHODS: By sorting, analyzing and summarizing domestic and foreign literatures, the characteristics, in vivo and in vitro properties and the applications in pharmacy of novel nanoparticles carriers such as nano cochleates, virus-like particles, hydrogel nanoparticles, gold nanoshells, carbon nanomaterials, quantum dots and dendrimers were reviewed and elaborated. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Nanoparticles possess special physical and chemical properties which could improve the stability and bioavailability of drugs and have a targeting and sustained release effect.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of psoriasis treated with avermectin A and astragalus and detect the changes of TNF-a in serum. Preliminarily study the anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory mechanism of avermectin A and astragalus in the treatment of psoriasis. Methods 20 patients were randomly recruited into a control group (9 cases) and a treatment group (11 cases). Another 20 healthy people were recruited for comparison. The control group was administrated with avermectin A orally, 0.2±0.6 mg/kg·d, with the symptoms turning better, reduced the dosage till the recovery, the treatment group was injected with astragalus injection on the therapeutic basis of the control group. Detect and compare the levels of TNF-α in the serum of the patients with psoriasis before and after the treatment in both groups, then make a contrast to the healthy people. Results 20 patients got clinical cure. The level of TNF-α in the serum of healthy persons is 11.7± 6.7 ng/L, and the level of TNF-α in the serum of psoriasis patients before treatment is (45.4±12.4) ng/L and (46.4±16.9) ng/L in the treatment group and the control group respectively. Compared with healthy control group, the difference is significant. After treatment, is the TNF-αlevels dropped to (13.8± 5.4) ng/L and (20.9±6.3) ng/L in the treatment group and the control group respectively, showing no significant difference compared with healthy control group. The difference between the two group is also significant. Conclusion The efficacy of treating psoriasis with avermectin A and astragalus is better than using avermectin A exclusively. The mechanism may lie in its inhibiting the formation of TNF-α and so thus exerting the anti-inflammatory and immune regulatory functions.

The human tissue kallikrein(KLK)gene family consists of 15 highly conservative serine pro-teases,which is the largest uninterrupted cluster of protease genes in the human genome. Several members of the family are expected to be markers for tumor diagnosis and prognosis. Studies find that the expressions of KLK2-11 and KLK13-15 are abnormal,and the majority of KLKs have potential diagnostic and prognostic values.

Objective To evaluate the efficiency and preliminary results of transcatheter closure of perimembrane ventricular septal defects (PMVSD) using Amplartzer occluder device in children.Methods There were 5 children using transthoracic echocardiography(TTE) to confirm the PMVSD before the intervention. The diameters of the PMVSD were measured by angiography; Each of the children were treated with Amplartzer occluder device for transcatheter closure of PMVSD under TTE and fluoroscopy. The TTE and elec-trocardiograph(ECG)、chest X-ray were performed 24 hours,1 and 3、6 months after the procedure to evaluate the therapeutic effect. Results The mean diameter of the PMVSDs measured by angiography was 5.0?2.4 mm(Ranging from 2.5 to 8.3 mm). The mean diameter of the occluder selected was 7.4?3.2 mm(Ranging from 4 to 10 mm). The success rate was 100%, and no complication occurred during the procedure. No residual shunts were found by angiography immediately after the procedure in all cases. There were no malpositions of occluder and no residual shunts in the 5 cases by TTE after the procedure 24 hours , 1 and 3、 6 months. There were no cardiac arrhythmia found by ECG. It showed that both pulmonary vascularity were improved.Conclusions Transcatheter closure of perimembrane ventricular septal defects using Amplartzer occluder device is an efficient therapy for children with PMVSD. The operation is simple with a high success rate of placement and a good occlusion effect. Further studies of long term results are required.

Objective To understand the incidence and trend of malaria in Xuzhou City so as to provide the evidence for formulating the malaria control measures. Methods The information of network reported malaria cases and epidemiological da-ta were collected and analyzed statistically in Xuzhou City from 2010-2013. Results A total of 109 malaria cases were reported by the special report systems and the network report system in Xuzhou City from 2010 to 2013 in which there were 44 cases 40.37% of vivax malaria 62 cases 56.88% of falciparum malaria 2 cases 1.83% of quartan malaria 1 case 0.92% of ovale malaria. The latter three were all imported from other countries. Totally 93 cases 85.32% were confirmed by laboratory and other 16 cases 14.68% were diagnosed clinically. There was the incidence throughout the year and there were no obvious seasonal characteristics. The positive rate of blood test in the floating population was significantly higher than that of the local res-idents χ2 868.23 P＜0.01 . Conclusion The malaria endemic situation is in the steady decline period in Xuzhou City. The local infections decrease significantly but the imported falciparum malaria cases increase year by year. Therefore the manage-ment for floating population and fever patients should be strengthened.

Objective To evaluate the clinical value of serum high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C)in the evaluation of synthetic function of the patients with liver diseases.Methods Abbott Aeroset automatic biochemical analyzer was used to detect serum HDL-C level in control group (30 cases) and liver disease group(87 cases).T test was used to analyze the differences of serum HDL-C level in liver disease group and control group,different liver disease groups and control group,and different liver disease groups.Results HDL-C level was (1.28 ±0.20)mmol/L in the control group,(0.77 ± 0.15)mmol/L in the liver disease group,and (0.81 ± 0.13)mmol/L in the hepatitis group,(0.68 ± 0.14)mmol/L in the liver cirrhosis group,(0.54 ± 0.05)mmol/L in the liver cancer group.The HDL-C level in liver disease group and hepatitis group,liver cirrhosis group,liver cancer group was significantly lower than that in the control group(t =15.5569,14.2463,45.4393,25.6344,all P ＜ 0.01).The HDL-C level in liver cirrhosis group and liver cancer group was significantly lower than that in hepatitis group (t =3.6583,16.9057,all P ＜ 0.01).The HDL-C level in liver cancer group was significantly lower than that in liver cirrhosis group(t =4.4103,P ＜ 0.01).Conclusion Serum HDL-C level can be used to evaluate synthetic function of the liver,the lower of serum HDL-C level,the more serious liver synthesis function is impaired.
