Liposarcoma is the malignant tumor that can be originated from any adipose tissue. Spermatic cord liposarcoma are very rare. They are less than 4% of primary malignant tumor of spermatic cord. Radical orchiectomy appears to be adequate treatment. We report a case of liposarcoma of the left spermatic cord in 54 years old man which has presented as a slowly growing scrotal mass without metastatic evidence and radical orchiectomy were performed as a treatment. The iteratures were reviewed briefly.

2.A Clinical Significance of lntraarterial Digital Subtraction Angiography in Renal Diseases.
Korean Journal of Urology 1986;27(4):518-524
Intraarterial digital subtraction angiography(IADSA) was developed to subjugate the disadvantages of intravenous digital subtraction angiography(IVDSA). Recently, its utility has been increased in renal diseases. For investigation of clinical significance of IADSA in renal diseases, we analysed with 22 patients that renal IADSA had been performed in during the period from May, l984 to January, l986. The following results were obtained; l. Indications of the renal IADSA were renal bleeding, flank mass, hypertension and abnormality IVP or RGP only. 2. Diagnostic accuracy of the renal IADSA in renal diseases was 82.4%. 3. Renal toxicity and pain could be reduced due to decreased dose and dilution of contrast material. 4. Utilization of embolotherapy was increased because of better imaging of the renal vascularity and shortened examination-time of renal IADSA. 5. Renal IADSA can be substituted for conventional renal angiography and renal IVDSA in almost all renal diseases.

Korean Journal of Urology 1987;28(3):455-458
We report a case of retroperitoneal fibrosis of uncertain cause, in which surgical ureterolysis could be established. The initial symptoms of patient were right flank dull pain and low abdominal discomfortness. At the multiple biopsy during ureterolysis, no neoplastic cell could be seen. After one month of discharge, advanced stomach cancer was found during evaluation of dysphasia and indigestion which appeared after discharge. So, the patient was placed on the conservative treatment after ureterolysis due to advanced stomach cancer.

Korean Journal of Urology 1985;26(6):723-727
Primary carcinoma of the urethra is quite rare. The causes of the disease are poorly understood. It is the only urologic malignancy. known to be less common in males than females, despite of the greater length and complexity of the urethra in the male. We report a case of carcinoma of the urethra in 81 years old male patient.

The Korean Journal of Nutrition 2005;38(5):335-343
Rodent models have been used to study the anticarcinogenic properties of the soy isoflavones, particularly genistein, but there is little information regarding the pharmacokinetics of the absorption and excretion of genistein. In this study, rats were given a single oral dose of genistein (20 mg/kg body wt) or an equivalent dose as Myougjoonamul-kong and Myoungjoonamul soy sprouts. Concentrations of genistein were measured in plasma, urine and feces at intervals up to 48 hr after dosing. Maximum peak of plasma genistein concentration is 8 hr after dosing, and its concentration is 13.2, 7.4 mol/L in soy and soy sprout-treated rats, respectively. In pure genistein treated rats, maximum peak of plasma genistein concentration is 2 hr after dosing (5.7 mol/L). The percentage of dose recovered in urine over 48 hr was not different between groups (21.2% soy treated : 18.2% soy sprout treated : 16.1% pure genistein treated). There were no significant differences between groups in the recovery of genistein in feces (19.5%, 7.5% and 15.7% of doses, respectively). 6.9% and 6.07% of the daidzein from the soy and soy sprout treated was recovered in the feces.

Although exercise electrocardiography is commonly used to determine the likelihood of coronary artery disease, data of exercise electrocardiography are limited in Korea. Authors reviewed 409 patients with chest pain who underwent 12 lead treadmill exercise electrocardiography and coronary arteriography at Seoul National University Hospital from January, 1984 through September, 1990. All the patients underwent catheterization within three months after having a standard Bruce protocol treadmill exercise test. None of them had prior myocardial infarction, valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathy, and complete left bundle branch block. The study subjects consisted of 208 patients, including 42 patients of coronary artery spasm, with no or insignificant fixed coronary artery stenosis(less than 50% narrowing of luminal diameter), and 201 with significant fixed stenosis. The results were as follows; 1) The sensitivity of treadmill exercise electrocardiography was 73.6%, and the specificity was 88.2%. Positive exercise test in coronary artery spasm was 21.4%. 2) With increasing the extent of coronary artery disease, the proportion of the patients with one-vessel disease who showed positive ST segment change of stage I increase. Most of the patients with one-vessel disease who showed positive ST segment change on stage I had 90% or more stenosis. 3) With increasing the extent of coronary artery disease, the proportion of the patients with positive ST segment change in multiple lead groups increased. 4) ST segment change appeared most frequently in lead group V4-V6 and next in lead group II III a VF regardless of involved arteries. 5) ST segment elevation in lead group V1-V3 or in I/aVL was usually associated with 90% or more stenosis of left anterior descending artery in one-vessel disease, but similar proportion of the patients was noted in multivessel disease. This suggests that ST segment elevation in lead group V1-V3 or in I/aVL is probably associated with severe ischemia, not a specific predictor of left anterior descending coronary artery disease.

Korean Circulation Journal 1990;20(2):248-255
DCRV is a rare cause of right ventricular outflow obstruction by anomalous muscle bundle at the level of sinus portion. The symptoms due to DCRV itself were mild inspite of significant pressure gradient over 90mmHg between proximal and distal chamber, and became severe by associated complication of bacterial endocarditis or aortic regurgitation in ventricular septal defect. In 12 cases(40%), right ventricular hypertrophy configuration in electrocardiogram was characteristic. Although R wave in V1 was tall, S wave in V6 and R wave in aVR were indistinctive. Those were very useful findings for diagnosis of DCRV which was thought to be possible only invasively. With operation prior to overt right ventricular faliure, the prognosis was good with only minor complication.

Journal of the Korean Society of Biological Psychiatry 2012;19(1):53-57
OBJECTIVES: This study was designed to investigate the association between the dopamine D2 receptor (DRD2) genetic polymorphism [TaqIB (rs17294542) and TaqID (rs1800498)] and patients with schizophrenia. METHODS: TaqIB (rs17294542) and TaqID (rs1800498) polymorphism of the DRD2 gene were typed in 100 patients with schizophrenia and 109 normal controls. RESULTS: There were no statistical differences in genotype and allele distribution of TaqIB (rs17294542) and TaqID (rs1800498) genetic polymorphism between patients with schizophrenia and normal controls. CONCLUSIONS: These results suggest that the TaqIB (rs17294542) and TaqID (rs1800498) polymorphisms of the DRD2 gene may not be associated with schizophrenia in the Korean population.
