In order to improve the control rate of risk factors of chronic disease, it is developed a status control method of risk factor and its mobile monitor. The monitor uses 32 bit RISC microprocessor of S3C2410X as a controller based on ARM920T core, and MC35i cellular engine GSM/GPRS supported by SIEMENS as the communication unit. The proving tests show that the physical activity, diet, smoking and alcohol of the controlled people can be controlled using the status control method, and the monitor plays a key role in the method. The conclusion is that status control method and mobile monitor can become an alternation method and technology for the risk factor control of chronic disease.

10 h. Results 15 patients had been misdiagnosed as epididymis orchitis or acute abdomen and undergone orchiectomy because of necrosis of the testicles, including 11 cases of intrascrotal torsion (testicular torsion in scrotum with an orchiectomy rate of 79%) and 4 cases of cryptorchidism with torsion.3 cases scrotal orchidopexy has been performed and during the follow up ( 6~36 months) the testicle in 2 of which appeared viable and normal while testicular atrophy has been observed in 1.In recent years 11 adolescents underwent exploration because of acute scrotal pain,7 cases being testicular torsion and 4 acute epididymitis. Conclusions It is emphasized that in younger patients suffering suddenly from pain in scrotum, especially occurring at night, the diagnosis of testicular torsion should be considered.Differentiating cryptorchidism with torsion from incarcerated hernia or acute abdomen, testicular torsion in scrotum from acute testitis and epididymitis should be serious considered. In order to save the testicle with early surgical exploration orchidopexy might be mandatory to aviod recurrence.

Objective:To demonstrate the feasibility of the osteosarcoma devitalization method by vacuum dehydration at room tem-perature. Methods:For the in vivo study, the VX2 tumor mass was treated by vacuum dehydration, rehydrated in ice water, and im-planted in the rabbit to determine the safety time to deactivate the tumor. For the in vitro study, the osteosarcoma mass was devital-ized by vacuum dehydration, and the dehydration rate and ATPase activity were determined. Histopathological changes in the tumor were also observed. The change in the biomechanical strength of rabbit bone and tendon after vacuum devitalization treatment was detected. Results:At room temperature, the safety time to deactivate the VX2 tumor was 60 min, and the dehydration rate was 93.8%at this time point. After vacuum dehydration, the tumor mass evidently shrunk, presenting a porous structure. The osteosarcoma cell became small, and cell structure damage was observed under light microscope. Disrupted cell membrane and organelles were seen un-der transmission electron microscope as well as broken down chromosomes. The activity of ATPase was evidently lower than in the control group. The strength of bone and tendon did not decrease significantly after vacuum dehydration. Conclusion:Treatment by vacuum dehydration at room temperature for 60 min does not result in differences of the bone and tendon strength. However, it can inactivate both soft tissue and bone tumor mass completely.

Object To explore the regularity of microwave extraction (ME) on Chinese medicines in different morphological structure and different polar compositions. Methods Anthraquinone in Radix et Rhizoma Rhei (RRR), Semen Cassiae (SC), cholorogenic acid in Flos Lonicerae, baicalin in Radix Scutellariae were determined as index compositions by HPLC. The extraction rate was measured by orthogonal design. Results ME selectivity to different anthraquinone in RRR is not significant, while at the same temperature, the extraction rates of emodin, chrysophanol, physcion in RRR are higher than those in SC. Conclusion The ME selectivity to the different morphological structure of Chinese medicines is obvious, but to the different polar compositions is not distinct.

AIM: To determine the relationship between antigen-induced airway inflammation characterized by pulmonary eosinophilia and bronchial hyperreactivity in rats, and to evaluate the effect of theophylline at different doses. METHODS: In ovalbumin (OA)-sensitized rats, bronchiole wall area, eosinophils around bronchi, and the responses to methacholine (MCh) aerosol were measured after 1% OA aerosol challenge with computer-assisted techniques. RESULTS: OA challenge caused both inflammation and airway hyperreactivity, and there was a significantly positive correlation between them. Oral theophylline (1-12.5 mg/kg, bid for 7 days) attenuated antigen-induced inflammation (swelling of bronchiole walls and pulmonary eosinophilia) and bronchial hyperreactivity. CONCLUSION: These findings confirm that bronchial hyperreactivity positively correlates to airway inflammation in the rat, and suggest that theophylline at relatively lower doses has anti-inflammatory effect in airway allergic reaction.

Chinese Traditional Patent Medicine 1992;0(08):-
Objective: To evaluate the characteristic and explore the mechanism of microwave extraction (MAE) in extracting Chinese medicines by comparing with conventional extractions on Radix et Rhizoma Rhei. Methods : The sum of anthraquinone was determined by spectrophotometry and aphrostase in paraffin section was observed by microphotography. Results : Among the four methods, the efficiency of MAE was significantly the highest, which was 3.5 times of supersonic extraction and 1.5 times of Sohlex extraction and 1.5 times of decocting by water, respectively. The time of MAE was the shortest. MAE could destroy the cell organization to pick up the speed of dissolving. Conclusion : MAE is efficient, saving energy and time in extracting Chinese medicines.
