Objective To provide reference of the general physiological index, blood physiology and biochemistry for middle and old-aged cynomolgus monkey.Methods 119 cynomolgus monkey aged from 11~16 (80 were males and 39 were females) were involved in the study.We detected the general physiological index( body weight, the crown-rump length and waist circumference ) , hematology and blood biochemistry parameters respectively and compared these parameters between males and females.Results Between males and females, there were significant differences in Body weight, the crown-rump length and Waist circumference of the general physiological index(P <0.01),NEUT#、LYMPH#、EO#、BASO#、NEUT%、LYMPH%、EO%、BASO%、MCV、MCH、RDW-CV、PCT、MONO%、HGB、HCT、MCHC、RDW-SD、MPV of hematology(P <0.01 or P <0.05)and TBIL、ALB、GLO、A/G、ALP、GLU、UREA、CREA、TCH、TG、CK、ALT、GGT of blood biochemistry ( P <0.01 or P <0.05 ) .There were no significant differences in other parameters ( P >0.05).Conclusion It provides reference of general physiological index, blood physiology and biochemistry parameters of cynomolgus monkey and basis for their application in biomedical domain.

Mai is the important concept in TCM and this term has been found in the early classic work of TCM. With the development and perfection of TCM theory, the original meaning of mai is "blood vessels entirely distrusted in the body". In five dynasties, the meaning of it was supplemented as "distribution of qi and blood in five zang and six fu organs to the four extremities", in which, not only blood but also qi has been included. With the constant understanding on mai, qi and blood, the unique concept of meridian and collateral is gradually generated. In terms of the modern study on the original meaning of mai and the academic evolution of meridian and collateral, it is discovered that qi is predominated and distributed in meridian and collateral as compared with blood. It is very significant to study the original meaning and academic evolution of mai, as well as the origin of the concept of meridian and collateral and to provide the reference support for the terminology standardization and basic study.

Objective To investigate the regularity of intrapulnonary lobar and segmental lymph nodes metastasis in patients with cT1N0M0 stage lung adenocarcinoma.To provide a basis for more accurate determination of N stage and indication for pulmonary segmental resection.Methods A prospective study was performed from March 2014 to December 2015.103 cases of cT1 N0M0 stage lung adenocarcinoma received lobectomy and mediastinal lymph node dissection in the thoracic surgery department of China-Japan Friendship Hospital.Intrapulmonary lobar and segmental lymph nodes were dissected and sorted carefully then sent to the pathological department with the corresponding lung specimen and other lymph nodes.Statistical analysis was carried out considering size of the lesion,imaging features,serum CEA levels,pathological subtypes and so on.Results In total 103 cases,pN0 was confirmed in 82 cases,pN1 in 15 cases,pN1 + N2 in 5 cases,and skipping-pN2 in 1 case.14 cases(93.3％) in pN1 group were detected with station 12-14 lymph node metastasis,while only 5 cases (33.3％) were detected with station 12-14 LSNs metastasis.4 cases(66.7％) in pN2 group were detected with station 12-14 lymph node metastasis,while only 1 case(16.7％) with station 13 and station 7 lymph node metastasis.If LSNs were not detected,the false negative rate of N staging could be as high as 6.1％ (5/82),The rate of missed diagnosis of lymph node metastasis might be 30％ (6/20) to N1 stations alone.41.2％ (7/17)cases with metastasis to the adjacent LSNs had been proved with metastasis to the isolated LSNs.The metastasis rate of the isolated LSNs was significantly lower(P =0.049) in pure GGNs compared with those part-solid/solid nodules.Invasive adenocarcinoma had higher metastasis rate of isolated LSNs,compared with preinvasive lesions or minimally invasive adenocarcinomas,with no statistical difference between groups (P =0.055).No significant difference in isolated LSNs metastasis rate was found between groups with different serum CEA levels(P =0.251) or tumor size(P =0.197).Conclusion Dissection of intrapulmonary lobar and segmental lymph nodes might facilitate a more accurate N stage,reduce the false negative rate of lymph node metastasis,and provide basis for more accurate assessment of prognosis and postoperative adjuvant treatment.The sampling area of lymph nodes during segmental resection should include the adjacent LSNs of the target segment.The isolated LSNs metastasis rate of cT1N0M0 stage lung adenocarcinoma with pureGGN as imaging feature is relative low,which might be suitable for segmentectomy when meeting other criteria.

OBJECTIVETo compare the effects between resuscitation acupuncture and pregabalin for thalamic pain and their impacts on plasma P substance (SP) and β-endorphin (β-EP).

METHODSSixty-four patients were randomly assigned into an acupuncture group and a western medication group, 32 cases in each one. Based on conventional western methods, pregabalin capsule was used orally in the western medication group, 75 mg a time,twice a day; resuscitation acupuncture was applied in the acupuncture group. The main acupoints were Shuigou (GV 26), Neiguan (PC 6), Sanyinjiao (SP 6). Patients with upper limb pain were attached affected Jiquan (HT 1), Chize (LU 5), and Hegu (LI 4); lower limb pain, affected Weizhong (BL 40), Zusanli (ST 36); hea-dache, bilateral Fengchi (GB 20), Wangu (GB 12), and Yifeng (TE 17), twice a day. Treatment was given 6 d a week for 8 weeks in the two groups. The changes of simplified McGill pain questionnaire (SF-MPQ), plasma SP and β-EP were observed before and after 4-week, 8-week treatment, as well as at follow-up, namely, 3 months after treatment. Also, clinical effects were evaluated.

RESULTSThe total effective rate of the acupuncture group was 50.0% (16/32) after 4-week treatment, which was similar to 46.9% (15/32) in the western medication group (>0.05). While after 8-week treatment and at follow-up, the total effective rates of the acupuncture group were 90.6% (29/32) and 84.4% (27/32), which were better than 65.6% (21/32) and 40.6% (13/32) of the western medication group correspondingly (both<0.05). After 4-week, 8-week treatment and at follow-up, the pain scores of the acupuncture group were lower than that before treatment (all<0.05). After 4-week and 8-week treatment, the pain scores of the western medication group were lower than that before treatment (both<0.05). After 8-week treatment and at follow-up, the pain scores of the acupuncture group were superior to thoseof the western medication group (both<0.05). After 4-week and 8-week treatment,the contents of plasma SP reduced compared with those before treatment in the two groups (all<0.05), and plasma β-EP increased (all<0.05). After 8-week treatment, SP content of the acupuncture group was apparently lower than that of the western medication group (<0.05), and β-EP increased more obviously (<0.05).

CONCLUSIONSResuscitation acupuncture can effectively relieve the symptoms of thalamic pain with stable and long-term effect, and it is better than pregabalin. Meanwhile, the acupuncture can increase β-EP and reduce SP.

Methods: Thirty patients diagnosed with AL-CA from January 2012 to December 2016 at Beijing Chaoyang Hospital were included in this study to retrospectively evaluate the clinical data. The cut-off value of dFLC (involved sFLC minus uninvolved sFLC) was determined according to the receiver operator characteristic curve (ROC) and grouped, the prognoses of both groups were evaluated. Results: The onset age of all AL-CA patients was 57 years old. It occurred more commonly in men (21 cases, 70%) and the light chains of immunoglobulin composed mainly of type λ (22 cases, 73.3%) . Renal involvements occurred in 17 cases (56.7%) . The median value of difference between involved and uninvolved serum immunoglobulin free light chain levels (dFLC) was 162.9 (57.9-401.6) mg/L. More subjects in the high dFLC group had higher BNP (P=0.005) , and shorter median survival than those in the low dFLC group (15 months vs 47 months, P<0.001) . Similar results of median survival were observed when the patients were redivided by a new cut-off value of 180 mg/L for dFLC (high dFLC group: 22 months, low dFLC group: 40 months, P=0.001) , or a κ/λ ratio in which patients with κ type sFLC-ratio<3.79 and λ type sFLC-ratio≥0.06 were grouped into the low sFLC-ratio (37 months) , and the reverse the high sFLC-ratio ones (25 months, P=0.021) . In multivariate analysis, dFLC and New York Heart Association (NYHA) classification of cardiac function were two risk factors associated with all-cause mortality in patients, of them the hazard ratio for higher dFLC was 12.13 (95%CI 2.98-49.30, P<0.001) . Conclusion Measurement of the sFLC level could implicate the prognosis of AL-CA.

BACKGROUND: The Previous study has indicated that the incidence of venous thromboembolism (VTE) after lung cancer surgery is not uncommon. The aim of this study is to analyze the risk factors of postoperative VTE in lung cancer patients and provide a clinical basis for further prevention and treatment of VTE. METHODS: This study was a single-center study. From July 2016 to December 2017, all patients with lung cancer who underwent surgery in our department were enrolled into this study. Except routine preoperative examinations, lower extremity Doppler ultrasound was performed in all patients before and after surgery to determine whether there was any newly developed deep venous thrombosis (DVT). Patients did not receive any prophylactic anticoagulant therapy before and after surgery. Patients were then divided into VTE group and control group according to whether VTE occurred after operation. Baseline data, surgical related data (surgery type, surgical procedure, etc.) and tumor pathological data (pathological type, vascular infiltration, pathological staging, etc.) were compared between the two groups. RESULTS: According to the inclusion criteria, a total of 339 patients undergoing lung cancer surgery were analyzed. There were 166 males and 173 females with an age range of 23-86 years. A total of 39 patients developed VTE after surgery, the incidence rate of postoperative VTE was 11.5%. Comparing the age, gender, body mass index (BMI), American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), smoking status, underlying diseases, etc, there were no significant differences in other indicators except for significant differences in age; comparison between preoperative blood routine, blood biochemistry, coagulation, tumor markers, lung function, lower extremity venous ultrasound, preoperative carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) levels, preoperative D-dimer levels, there were significant differences in lung function and lower extremity intermuscular vein expansion ratio. There were no significant differences in other indexes between the two groups. The duration of surgery, surgical procedure, bleeding volume, pathological type, pathological stage, vascular invasion, were compared between the two groups. There were statistical differences in surgical methods (thoracic vs thoracoscopic) and bleeding volume. There were no significant differences in other indicators. Univariate analysis showed that age, preoperative CEA level, preoperative D-dimer level, poor pulmonary function, lower extremity intermuscular vein dilation ratio, thoracotomy rate, length of surgery, and amount of bleeding were significantly risk factors (P<0.05). There were no significant correlations between pathological stage and pathological type and VTE. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1), surgical approach, and lower extremity intermuscular vein dilatation were independent risk factors for postoperative VTE in patients with lung cancer (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS The results of this study suggest that FEV1, surgical procedures, and lower extremity intermuscular vein dilation are independent risk factors for postoperative VTE in patients with lung cancer.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a common male condition, which is closely related with cardiovascular diseases. With the increasing incidence of cardiovascular events, arteriogenic ED (AED) is becoming more prevalent in recent years. Despite the variety of therapies for ED, no effective treatment has been found for this arteriogenic type. Based on the experience in the successful treatment of cardiovascular diseases by endovascular therapy, some scholars are carrying out clinical researches on this therapy for AED, which has shed some new light on its management. This review outlines recent advances in the studies of endovascular therapy for AED.
