Mechanical loading provides an anabolic stimulus for bone. Low frequency vibration is a kind of mechanic stimulus, which can promote osteogenesis in certain frequency, mode and intensity. The osteogenesis promotion of low frequency vibration may be associated with the membrane ion channels, integrin-cytoskeleton complex triggering mitogen activated protein kinase (MAPK) signal and second messengers regulating RANK-RANKL-OPG axals.

Objective To analyze the correlation between quantitative evaluation of high-resolution CT (HRCT) and pulmonary function tests (PFT) in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and evaluate the characteristics of PFT in different CT phenotypes of COPD. Methods 65 patients with COPD underwent CT chest scan and PFT. The dimensions of subsubsegmental apical bronchi of right upper lobes were measured , which included the following parameters:airway wall thickness (T), total airway diameter (D), and pulmonary artery (PA), ratio of airway wall thickness and pulmonary artery (T/PA), thickness diameter ratio (TDR), percentage of wall area (WA%) and percentage of airway luminal area (Ai%). The percentage of total lung area occupied by low attenuation area (LAA%) was measured by lung density software. The relationship between the measurements and PFT parameters were analyzed. Patients were classified into three phenotypes based on the presence of emphysema or bronchial wall thickening evaluated by HRCT. Phenotype A: without or with little emphysema (LAA% < 25%), with or without bronchial wall thickening; Phenotype E: emphysema without bronchial wall thickening (LAA%≥25%, T/PA < 30%); Phenotype M: emphysema with bronchial wall thickening (LAA%≥25%, T/PA≥30%). The characteristics of different CT phenotypes were analyzed. Results LAA% had a good correlation with PFT parameters. PA, T/PA, WA% and Ai% also had correlation with PFT parameters. There was 53 patients of Phenotype A, 12 patients of Phenotype M. PA, T/PA, LAA%and PFT were different in two groups. Conclusions LAA%and airway quantitative measurements in HRCT have certain correlation with PFT parameters. Patients with different CT phenotypes differs in PFT parameters , which can provide reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment.

Chinese Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Brain Science 2023;32(9):822-827
Objective:To study the characteristics of mathematical cognitive function in children with sleep-disordered breathing(SDB) by event-related potential (ERP).Methods:From October 2020 to October 2022, totally 22 cases of SDB children and 22 cases of normal children aged 8-11 were selected. All subjects performed mathematic tasks including calculating and deciding. The EEG changes and behavioral data of children with SDB and normal children were recorded. The latency and amplitude of N1, P2, N2, P3 in leads Fz were measured and compared by Matlab. SPSS 23.0 software was used for statistical analysis, and t test or Mann Whitney U test were used for two independent sample data. Results:(1)Behavior test: the interaction effect between group and type, the group main effect, and the type main effect in accuracy between SDB group and normal group were not significant ( F=0.470, 3.590, 0.003, all P>0.05). The group main effect and interaction effect between group and type in reaction time between SDB group and normal group were not significant ( F=0.465, 1.991, both P>0.05), while the type main effect was significant ( F=18.010, P<0.05). (2)ERP test: the N2, P3 latencies for addition in children with SDB were longer than those in normal group(N2: (371.38±34.23)ms vs (348.12±26.34)ms; P3: (610.72±64.78)ms vs (529.05±30.25)ms)( t=2.526, 5.358, both P<0.05). There was no significant difference between SDB group and normal group in ERP latency and amplitude for subtraction(both P>0.05). The N2, P3 latencies for multiplication in children with SDB were longer than those in normal group(N2: (439.20±24.28)ms vs (351.14±25.26)ms; P3: (531.71±35.42)ms vs (415.23±19.01)ms)( t=11.792, 13.590, both P<0.05). The P3 amplitudes in children with SDB was higher than that in normal group(P3: (3.16±4.78)μV vs (0.38±3.27)μV)( t=2.248, P<0.05). The P3 latency for correct judgment in children with SDB was longer than that in normal group(P3: (420.38±34.79)ms vs (398.54±33.71)ms)( t=2.115, P<0.05). The P3 latency for wrong judgment in children with SDB was longer than that in normal group(P3: (475.25±51.11)ms vs (414.88±27.53)ms)( t=4.878, P<0.05). Conclusion:The latency of N2 and P3 in ERP of SDB children is prolonged, and P3 latency is more sensitive than N2, indicating that SDB children have impairment of mathematical cognitive function. The latency changes of N2 and P3 occurs earlier than the behavioral changes (reaction time and accuracy), which can be used as one of the electrophysiological indicators for early assessment of mathematical cognitive impairment in SDB children.

Objective:To analyze the current research status of ideological and political education content in domestic nursing courses and facilitate nursing education reform. Methods:Using purposeful sampling, 25 exemplary cases of ideological and political education in nursing courses from Xinhua Net were selected. NVivo 12 software was employed for content analysis, summarizing the ideological and political elements, carriers of these elements, and types of integration methods in nursing courses. Results:Nursing educators have thoroughly explored ideological and political elements, with the most attention given to professional ethics, though less focus was placed on personality development. A variety of carriers for ideological and political elements were utilized, with practical experience being the most common, but there was a lack of integration with policy and regulations. Various integration methods were applied, with interactive methods being the most frequently used, while practical approaches were less common. Conclusions:Future nursing education should emphasize fostering students' sense of national identity and focus more on personality development. It is important to promote a more balanced use of carriers for ideological and political elements, paying particular attention to policy-related content. The use of information technology in teaching should also be explored to flexibly apply various teaching methods, achieving the subtle integration of ideological and political education within nursing curricula.

Objective To evaluate efficacy and safety of acarbose compared with metformin as add-on therapy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus inadequately controlled with insulin. Methods This was a randomized, open-labeled, and parallel group study. Ninety-one type 2 diabetic patients ( HbA1C7.5%-11.0%) who were suboptimally controlled despite receiving twice daily injection of insulin (30-60 U/d for at least 8 weeks) were enrolled. They were randomly assigned 1 ∶ 1 ∶ 1 to continuation of insulin, insulin with acarbose (Ins+Aca), and insulin with metformin (Ins+Met) groups to insulin treatment. The levels of HbA1C, oral glucose tolerance test, blood lipids etc were measured at baseline and 12 weeks, and adverse events were recorded. Results The mean HbA1C levelsdecreasedfrom(7.9±0.4)%atbaselineto(7.0±0.3)%atweek12(P<0.01)intheIns+Acagroupand(7.8 ±0.2)%to(7.0±0.3)%in the Ins+Met group(P<0.01), while no significant change in HbA1Cin the insulin alone group. Adding acarbose to insulin resulted in similar reductions in HbA1Crelative to metformin (P=0.431). The achievement rate of HbA1Cbelow 7.0%at week 12 was the same(both 70%) between the Ins+Aca group and the Ins+Met group. Insulin combined with acarbose in improving blood glucose fluctuation effect was more significant than that incombinationwithmetformin(P<0.01),withstandarddeviation(SD)ofbloodglucose[(1.1±0.5vs2.7±0.6) mmol/L, P<0.01], postprandial blood glucose fluctuations [(0.5 ± 0.7 vs 2.8 ± 0.4) mmol/L, P<0.01], the maximumbloodglucosefluctuations[(2.8±0.7vs4.6±0.6)mmol/L,P<0.01].Theweightlossoccurredinboththe Ins+AcaandtheIns+Metgroups[-(0.5±0.8vs1.0±0.4)kg].Therewasnosignificantchangesinbloodpressure and lipid profile. Hypoglycemic episodes were comparable in all groups. No serious adverse event was noted in any group. Conclusions Adding acarbose or metformin to insulin therapy could achieve improvements in glycemic control with similar reductions in HbA1Clevels and weight, when comparing with insulin treatment alone. Add-on acarbose to insulin therapy may exist more effectively on glucose fluctuation than that of add-on metformin, which may have important clinical implications in those patients with postprandial hyperglycemia, large blood glucose fluctuation, and intolerance to metformin.
