Objective To evaluate the feasibility, safety and efficacy of laparoscopic appendectomy for acute appendicitis with previous abdominal surgery. Methods The clinical data of 253 patients with acute appendicitis undergoing laparoscopic surgery was retrospectively studied from Feb.2009 to Jun.2012,including 177 patients without previous abdominal surgery (no previous abdominal surgery group,NPAS group),76 patients with previous abdominal surgery (previous abdominal surgery group,PAS group).Parameters studied were conversion rates, operation time, blood loss, complications rate, length of hospital stay and the intestine function recovery time between two groups. Results The conversion rates were no significant difference between NPAS group and PAS group. The operation time of NPAS group and PAS group was (40.5 ± 12.3) minutes and (62.6 ± 14.2) minutes (P <0.05).The blood loss, intestine function recovery time, complications rate, and length of hospital stay were no significant minutes between NPAS group and PAS group after operation (P > 0.05).Conclusions Previous abdominal surgery prolongs the operation time of laparoscopic appendectomy, but history of abdominal surgery has no significant effect on laparoscopic surgical outcome, which may indicate that laparoscopic surgery for acute appendicitis with previous abdominal surgery is safe and effective and still has the adventages of less trauma, faster recovery.

Objective To observe the effectiveness of injecting mouse nerve growth factor ( mNGF) on the recovery of hand motor function among patients with cubital tunnel syndrome. Methods A total of 138 patients with moderate to severe cubital tunnel syndrome were randomly divided into groups designated as A, B and C, each of 46. Twenty micrograms of mNGF was injected daily 1 mm from the ulnar nerve at the cubital tunnel for the patients of group A and the injection site was moved 1 mm distally everyday along the nerve , but injected intramuscularly for those in group B. Those in group C received 500 μg of mecobalamin injected intramuscularly 3 times a week. The whole intervention consisted of two 4-week phases, with an interval of 2 months. Before and after the intervention, the function of internal hand muscles, hand function recovery rates and any electrophysiological changes in the ulnar nerve were measured and compared between the two groups. Results All of the patients showed significant improve-ment in hand muscle function and neuroelectrophysiology. The incidence of had muscle atrophy, Tinel′s sign, posi-tiveness in the paper clamping test and claw hand all significantly improved compared with before the treatment in all three groups. The average Disability of Arm Shoulder and Hand score in group A after the treatment was significantly higher than the group B and group C averages. The average ulnar nerve conduction velocity, incubation period and amplitude of group A after the treatment were all significantly better than before the treatment and better than the other groups′averages. After the treatment, the average hand function recovery in group A reached 91%, significantly high-er than in groups B ( 76%) and C ( 59%) . Conclusion Injecting mNGF next to the ulnar nerve is superior to in-jecting it intramuscularly in promoting the recovery of the ulnar nerve and hand function for patients with moderate to severe cubital tunnel syndrome.

Research teams work together to solve the technical bottleneck in the Panax notoginseng industry. These research directions mainly focus on breeding of new variety, alleviating the continuous cropping obstacles, building standard system and so on.We used methods such as biotechnology, information technology and so on,to realize digitization, network and intellectualization in the process of selection of producing areas, field management, harvest storage, solved key issues of the precise selection of producing areas, variety breeding, soil improvement, fertilization management, and realized the precision and optimization of ginseng cultivation. We built the composite technology system of pollution-free notoginseng. This technology system mainly contained the breeding of new cultivar, the composite technology of soil improvement, the cultivation system of pollution-free notoginseng and quality traceability system.A new disease-resistant cultivar of notoginseng was bred, which offered feasibility for the notoginseng continuous cropping. We first presented composite improvement technology of notoginseng continuous cropping soil. This improvement technology has been used in the field. This technology system of soil restoration and improvement guaranteed notoginseng continuous cropping.A first standard system of pollution-free notoginseng was issued. It established standard of high-quality notoginseng materials. Finally, quality traceability system of notoginseng was finished, which safeguarded the controllable quality. This composite technology system offers references for the cultivation of other Chinese herbal medicines.

Objective To investigate the distribution patterns of mosquitoes and mosquito-borne viruses in Dehong prefecture,Yunnan province,China. Methods Mosquito samples were collected using the mosquito traps from five counties of Dehong prefecture on July,2007 and 2010. Mosquitoes were cell cultured for viral isolation, and positive isolates were identified using RT-PCR and sequence analysis. Results A total of 43 634 mosquitoes comprised of 29 species representing six genera were collected. Culex tritaeriorhynchus and Anopheles sinensis comprised 78.69% and 14.77% of the total. Six strains of viruses were isolated from the mosquito pools. RT-PCR and phylogenetic analysis revealed three strains from Cx. tritaeriorhynchus, identified as genotypeⅠJapanese encephalitis virus(JEV). One strain was identified from Cx. tritaeriorhynchus,as Getah virus (GETV). Two strains isolated from Cx. tritaeriorhynchus and Anopheles vagus were identified as Culex pipiens pallens Densovirus(CppDNV). Conclusion Cx. tritaeriorhynchus had been the major species of mosquitoes and mainly transmitting vector of mosquito-borne viruses in Dehong prefecture. GenotypeⅠJEV,GETV and CppDNV were the vectors causing transmission of mosquitoe-borne diseases in this area. Data from phylogenetic analysis showed that these newly discovered isolates seemed to have had close relationship with those viruses previously circulating in Yunnan and other provinces of China.

ObjectiveTo investigate a cluster epidemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections in a school in Longchuan County, Yunnan Province, and further guide the prevention and control of COVID-19 in the border area. MethodsAccording to the Protocol on Prevention and Control of Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia (8th Edition), an epidemiological investigation was performed on all COVID-19 cases to collect the information on demographics, onset, diagnosis and treatment, prognosis, and epidemiological history. Close contacts were also tracked to determine the transmission chains. ResultsIn this cluster epidemic, a total of 37 COVID-19 cases were identified, including 32 females and 5 males aged from 13 to 25 years, who were 35 students and 2 teachers. The student cases were found in four classes of two grades. Furthermore, gene sequencing showed that all cases had been infected with delta variants, belonging to the same transmission chain that was not related to the previous epidemics in Dehong Prefecture. In additionally, a total of 2 127 close contacts were found. After 21 days of centralized quarantine for medical observation, all close contacts tested negative for SARS-CoV-2. In the COVID-19 cases, only one case remained positive for SARS-CoV-2, while the other 36 cases were successfully treated and became negative. ConclusionThis school cluster is caused by the border villagers who contacted the water polluted with SARS-CoV-2. It warrants more strict management of students from border villages and their belongings to prevent similar epidemics in school settings.
