Objective:To investigate the protection mechanism of rosavin in learning and memory ability in subacute aged rats in-duced by D-galactose. Methods:Totally 48 SD rats were randomly divided into the normal group, model group, positive drug group, and rosavin group respectively at the dose of 6, 12 and 24 mg·g-1 . Except the normal group, the other rats were with neck subcuta-neous injection of D-galactose 120 mg · kg-1 · d-1 . After 4-week drug administration, the learning and memory ability of rats was studied using Morris water maze. PO2 , SaO2 , the activity of superoxide dismutase ( SOD) , catalase( CAT) and glutathione peroxidase ( GSH-Px) and the content of O2 and malonaldehyde( MDA) of rats in vivo were determined at the end of the experiment. Results:The aged rats treated with rosavin(12 or 24 mg·kg-1·d-1) were with significant shortened latent period in Morris water maze(P<0. 01 or P<0. 05), and with reduced total swimming distance and error angle. Meanwhile, rosavin(6,12 or 24 mg·kg-1·d-1) could im-prove the concentration of O2 ,PO2 and SaO2 , the activity of SOD, CAT and GSH-Px in brain, while decrease the content of MDA with certain dose-effect relationship. Conclusion:Rosavin can inhibit D-galactose induced learning and memory decrease in rats, and the effect may be related with the increase of oxygen content, enzyme activity protection of SOD, CAT, MAO and GSH-Px and decrease of MDA generation.

Objective To explore the imaging features and its correlation with pathological findings of giant cell tumor of the ten-don sheath (GCTTS).Methods The clinical data, radiographic images and pathological characteristics of sixteen cases of GCTTS confirmed by pathology were retrospectively reviewed.Plain CT,pre and post-contrast MR were performed in all patients.HE stai-ning was used to investigate the histological characteristics of GCTTS,and immunohistochemistry was employed to detect the ex-pression of CD68.Results There were nine cases of local type GCTTS and seven cases of diffuse type GCTTS in our present study. Nine cases were located in the knee joint, four cases in the foot, and three cases in the hand.Compared with normal skeletal muscle signals, lesions showed isointensity or low intensity on T1 WI and inhomogeneous low intensity on T2 WI.Three cases caused adja-cent bone destruction, one case lead to adjacent bone absorption, and no abnormality was found in other twelve cases.Six cases were injected Gd-DTPA for enhanced scan,in which four cases showed significantly heterogeneous enhancement, one case mild heteroge-neous enhancement, and one case no heterogeneous enhancement.Pathology examination results revealed that GCTTS parenchyma cells were mainly formed by histocyte-like monocytes, and scattered multinuclear giant cells.GCTTS mesenchyme was rich in gelat-inous fiber and hemosiderin pigmentation. Conclusion MR has a significant advantage in detecting specific hemosiderin pigmentation and determining lesions area of GCTTS.Combination of MR with pathology results may improve the diagnosis accuracy.

Objective To study the effect of infrasound on the changes of expression of NMDAR1 in hipp- ocampal cells. Methods Eighty-eight male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomized into eleven groups:control group,90 dB/1 d,7 d,14 d,21 d and 28 d infrasound exposed groups;130 dB/1 d,7 d,14 d,21 d and 28 d infra- sound exposed groups. All the animals in the test groups were put in an infrasound field with 8 Hz,90 dB or 130 dB for 2 hours daily.Immunohistochemistry methods were used to detect the changes of intracellular expression of NMDARI in hippocampal cells. Methods The expression of NMDAR1 in hippocampus after the rats were exposed to infrasound of 8 Hz,90 dB SPL showed a procedure from reducing on the 1st day to rising on the 7th and peaked on the 14th day, then to descending on 21st day and returning to the standard level on the 28th day.Exposure to infra- sound of 8 Hz,130 dB SPL induced opposite effects on the expression of NMDAR1 compared with 90 dB SPL,which showed a process of increasing, descending, reaching to the lowest, then ascending and returning to the normal. The lowest expression of NMDAR1 occurred on the 14th day in every observed hippocampal area. Conclusion 8 Hz, 90 dB/130 dB infrasound induced certain reversible reaction in the expression of NMDAR1 of hippoeampal cells in rats, which may disturb their learning and memory function.

Purpose To investigate the effect of small interfering RNA on the increase of myocyte enhancer factor 2A(MEF2A) expression in PC12 cells exposed to hypoxia. Methods PC12 cells were cultured under normal conditions or were exposed to hypoxic conditions.Small interfering RNA targeted MEF2A gene (MEF2A-siRNA) was chemically synthesized. Eukaryocytic expression vector was built and transfected into PC12 cells with liposome. The expression of MEF2A mRNA was detected by real-time PCR. Western blot was used to detect the MEF2A protein. Results Compared with normal control(2~(-△△CT)=1.01±0.02), the mRNA level of MEF2A gene in PC12 cells with the treatment of MEF2A-siRNA was down-regulated significantly by 88%(2~(-△△CT)=0.12±0.03, P<0.01).The expression of MEF2A protein in hypoxia-treated PC12 cells was markedly higher than that of normal control(98.4±11.7 and 47.5±7.6,P<0.01).However, MEF2A-siRNA could significantly suppress the increase of MEF2A protein (P<0.01).Conclusion MEF2A gene silence induced by siRNA might inhibit the increase of MEF2A protein by hypoxia in PC12 cells.

Epmedii Folium is a commonly used traditional Chinese drug, and is beneficial for the "liver" and "kidney" s function in Chinese medicine. Recently, the origin of this drug is more complex. Most of the identification studies are emphasized on the species certified by the pharmacopoeia and other related species from the same genus of Epimedium, but few was emphasized on the counterfeit. In this paper, one counterfeit of Epmedii Folium, identified as the dried leaf of Quercus variabilis (Fam. Fagaceae), has been reported based on field investigation, comparing specimen of Epmedii Folium and Q. variabilis, using the macroscopic, microscopic and TmC methods. It is resulted that they could be identified clearly not only by the macroscopic features, such as the vein character and the tooth apex, but also by the microscopic features, such as the vascular bundles of the midrib, the non-glandular hair, the anticlinal wall of the epidermis cell and the calcium oxalate crystal. Furthermore their TLC chromatograms showed also difference. This study will give reference for the identification of Epmedii Folium and the related supervision and inspection work.

Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2016;37(4):524-526
Objective: To summarise the Clinical experience of esophageal replacement with colon after esophagectomy. Methods: Reviewed the clinical data of 20 patients who underwent esophageal replacement with colon between March 2011 to Mach 2014. 17 patients underwent 3 incisions esophagectomy, colon was extracted behind the sternum, resected the left-half manubrium sterni, left sternoclavicular joint and the first sternocostal joint for the cervical incision; 12 operations were assisted by the thoracoscopy. 3 patients underwent open two-field esophagectomy through right thoracoabdominal incision. Results: No perioperative death. 2 cases with anastomotic leakage of cervical, 2 cases with intestinal fistula, 2 cases with intestinal obstruction, 5 cases with hoarseness, 5 cases with pulmonary infections; the complication rate was 35% (n=7). No ischemic necrosis in the whole section of the interposed colon. Follow up for one or four years, 2 deaths, 2 distance metastasis. Conclusion: For the patients who need the reconstruction of the esophagus but the stomach is unavailable, the better option for the replacement is the colon. Assisted by the thoracoscopy could reduce the surgical trauma. Resecting the left-half manubrium sterni, left sternoclavicular joint and the first sternocostal joint for the cervical incision is helpful for the construction of the substernal pathway, reduction of the anastomotic leakage, and the healing of the fistula.
