1.Investigation of the caring ability of operating room nurses
Chinese Journal of Modern Nursing 2011;17(23):2810-2812
Objective To investigate the status quo of caring ability of theatre nurses, with the purpose of providing basis for forming an effective way to cultivate their caring ability. Methods 221 theatre nurses from three three-tier hospitals in Changchun city were investigated with caring ability inventory in this study. Results The score of cognitive in 211 operating room nurses was (72.85 ± 10.23), patience (56.69 ± 7.25), courage (56.58 ± 10.34),lower than foreign norm(80.22 ±7.56), (63.11 ±4.19), (68.25 ± 11.57) (t =-10.72,-13.18,-16.78;P <0.01) ; There were significant differences between nurses with different initial degrees and different working years in knowing and patience (P<0.05). Conclusions Operating room nurses' caring ability was lower; therefore, on the basis of characteristics of operating room, nursing managers should make relevant plan, enhance the interview before the operation and follow-up after the operation, and cultivate and strengthen their caring ability.

Objective To evaluate the population pharmacokinetics (PPK) of combined gestodene (GSD)/ethinylestradiol (EE) oral tablet and transdermal contraceptive patch in Chinese healthy volunteers, and provide theoretic supports for personalized medication. Methods An open-label,two-period comparative study was conducted in 12 healthy women volunteers.A single dose of combined GSD/EE oral tablet and transdermal contraceptive patch were administered.Blood samples at different time points after dose were collected, and concentrations were analyzed.A reliable, highly sensitive and accurate high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry assay method was developed in this study to determine the plasma concentrations of GSD and EE.The population pharmacokinetic parameters were estimated by nonlinear mixed effect model (NONMEM).Results A two -compartment model with first-order absorption and first-order elimination process was built as the structural model for GSD and EE of the tablet, respectively.Meanwhile,a one-compartment model with zero-order input and first-order elimination best described the GSD plasma concentrations after a single dose administration of the patch, and a one -compartment model with first-order absorption and first-order elimination for EE of the patch adequately described the data. When covariates were tested, none were found to adequately explain the changes of GSD and EE pharmacokinetic parameters in the PPK model for each route. Conclusion The established PPK models are capable of depicting pharmacokinetics of combined GSD/EE oral tablet and transdermal contraceptive patch in Chinese healthy volunteers. The final models are stable, and further research is warranted to study the effect of the potential covariates on GSD and EE pharmacokinetic parameters to improve the predictive performance.

The pediatric population is different from adults in their physi-ological function and tissues structure, and therefore they should not be assumed simply as the small adults. The drug development for pediatric population is helpful to improve the health of children in the whole coun-try.However, the clinical investigation of medicinal products for adults can not apply for children and there has not available guidance for chil-dren for a while.Accordingly, Chinese Food and Drug Administration ( CFDA) issues the guidance for clinical investigation of medicinal prod-ucts in the pediatric population, which ensure the clinical trials are more scientific and ethic. This paper means to interpret the guidance and therefore to help the development of clinical trials in pediatric population.

The pediatric population is different from adults in their dis-ease types and medication use in clinics. The drug clinic trial in pediatric population provides reliable clinic data for new drug development and medication use, and is helpful to promote the health of children.Howev-er, considering the specificity of children, it is changeable to conduct the drug clinic trials, especially for the study protocol design.Accordingly, CFDA issues the guidance for clinical investigation of medicinal products in the pediatric population, which ensure the clinical trials are more sci-entific and ethic. This paper means to interpret the guidance and there-fore to help the development of clinical trials in pediatric population.

Background:
Emerging evidences have indicated that the composition of gut microbiota was significantly influenced by central nervous system diseases. The digestion and metabolism disturbances of patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) might be strongly associated with ALS; however, this has rarely been evaluated in these populations. This study was to evaluate bacterial and archaeal composition of gut flora and the corresponding metabolism performance of these micro-organisms in fecal samples of patients with ALS.
Methods:
A comparative study was performed on the intestinal microbiota from eight patients with ALS and eight healthy individuals at Huadong Hospital during November 2017 to April 2018; meanwhile, the metabolite concentrations of human endotoxin, short-chain fatty acids (SCFA), NO2-N/NO3-N, and γ-aminobutyric acid were also evaluated by spectrophotometry methods. The correlations between intestinal microbiota and metabolite concentration were compared between the two groups using one-way analysis of variance; the relative abundance of beneficial and harmful micro-organisms in fecal samples was also analyzed.
Results:
In general, the richness and evenness of bacterial and archaeal communities of healthy individuals were healthier than that of patients with ALS. The phylum Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio, genus
