Neurobiology,one of the important subject in life science frontier,comprises extensive and comprehensive contents.It is significant and essential for each discipline of medicine to offer this course.During last several years of teaching and practice,some methods,skills and ideas have been utilized and summarized.Modem medical education,by offering this course,will accord with the development concept of the transition from biomedicine to bio-psycho-social medical model,and this course will provide the substantial foundation for cultivating qualified medical students.

Objective To observe the anesthesia and recovery results of sevoflrane and remifentanil combined anesthesia in open or laparoscopic surgeries. Methods 60 cases of ordinary surgeries from the department of gynecology and general surgeries were included in this study with 30 cases in each group. (1)recording total sevoflurane inhalation time, muscular relaxant amount, end tidal sevoflurane concentration;(2)recording BP,HR at 10 min after induction,operation staring and ending,ventilation recovery, opening eye and extubation period;also sevoflurane concentration 5 min after stopping medicine and ventilation recovery;recording time period between surgery ending and autonomous respiration recovery , eye opening and extubation. Results No any adverse events happen in each patient.the sevoflurane inhalation time in open surgery group was (157.20 ± 47.28) min, longer than that of laparoscopic surgeries group (73.50 ± 11.23)min(P<0.05), we had seen no statistical significance in all other index observed (P>0.05). Conclusion Sevoflurane combined remifentanil anesthesia can achieve stable intra-operative maintenance and rapid postoperative recovery quality , we suggest the widespread usage of it in clinic.

Objective To explore the morbidity,the diagnosis and the method of therapy of accidental prostatic carcinoma. Methods From Jan of 1984 to May of 2004, 19 cases of prostatic accidental carcinoma were confirmed on pathological examination after prostatectomy for BPH. Bilateral orchiectomy and Estrogen treatment were performed in 6 cases and Bilateral orchiectomy in 7 cases alone but no treatment in 6 cases. Results 5 of the patients wereA1 stage and 14 A2 stage. 12 of them were followed up for 3 to 120 months. 14 of them survived and one untreated died of metastasis to pubis and vertebra after one year. Conclusions Most patients of prostatic accidental carcinoma are A1 and have a better prognosis. Bilateral orchiectomy and Estrogen treatment might improve the patients’s survival rate.

Objective To evaluate the effects of repeated sevoflurane anesthesia on long-term cognitive function in lactating rats.Methods Twenty-four healthy Spragne-Dawley rats,aged 7 days,weighing 14-17 g,were randomly divided into 3 groups (n =8 each):control group (group C),2.6 ％ sevoflurane group (group S1),and 1.5％ sevoflurane group (group S2).At 7,14 and 21 days after birth,2.6％ and 1.5％ sevoflurane and carrier gas were inhaled for 1 h in groups S1,S2 and C,respectively.Visible plafform trial was carried out on 28 and 29 days after birth,and the swimming speed of the rats was recorded.Place navigation test was performed on 32-36 days after birth,and the escape latency was recorded.Spatial probe test was carried out on 36 days after birth,and the time spent in the platform quadrant,swimming distance and the number of times crossing the platform quadrant was recorded.Results Compared with group C,the escape latency was significantly prolonged in groups S1 and S2 (P ＜ 0.05).The escape latency was significantly longer in group S1 than in group S2 (P ＜0.05).There were no significant differences between the three groups in the swimming speed,time spent in the platform zone,swimming distance and the number of times crossing the platform quadrant (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion Repeated inhalation of sevoflurane during lactation can impair the long-term declarative memory,which is concentration-related,while it has no effects on the associative learning in rats.

Objective To explore the perioperative experiences of congenital heart disease in infants.Methods From Jan.2000 to Aug.2006,109 patients with congenital heart disease were operated in our department,their clinical data were retrospectively collected and analyzed.The patients′ age ranged from 31 days to 3 years old (13.6 months).The body weight ranged from 2.1 to 16 kg (8.6 kg).Ninety-three patients were operated under hypothermic anaesthesia with cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB).Sixteen patients underwent deep thermal and low flow CPB.Ultrafiltration was used in 62 patients.Results There were 8 deaths and the operative mortality was 7.3%,4 cases caused by low output syndromeclos(LOS),3 cases caused by pulmonary hypertension and 1 case caused by lung intection.The morbidity was in 25 cases(22.9%),the main complications were LOS in 6 patients and respiratory complications in 18 patients,hydropericardium in 1 case,respectively.Conclusion To improve the operative and CPB technique,and to improve the skills of the postoperative managements of LOS and respiratory complications are the main points in the success of the cardiac operation in infants.

Objective To investigate the association between the RoSCo scoring system and the postopera tive complications of laparoscopic partial nephrectomy.Methods The clinical data of 127 patients with laparoscopic partial nephrectomy in our hospital from 2010 to 2015 were retrospectively analyzed.By studying all patients' preoperative clinical data,we give all the patients the RoSCo score,then divided all the patients into the RoSCo low group (3-4),RoSCo moderate group (5-6),RoSCo high group (7-8).Respectively study the association between the RoSCo score and Clavein score,operative time,intraoperative blood loss,warm ischemia time and length of hospital stay after laparoscopic partial nephrectomy.Results The RoSCo score was associated with postoperative complications of laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (P ＜ 0.05) and was more accurate than the RENAL score alone.There were significant differences in bleeding,warm ischemia time,hospital stay and operation time between the low,middle and high groups of RoSCo (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion The RoSCo scoring system can be used to assess the complications of laparoscopic partial nephrectomy.

Objective: To study the quality and transdermal properties of matrine microemulsion-based hydrogel (MBH) to provide basis for the development of the preparation.Methods: The stability of MBH was observed at 4 ℃ for 3 months and the changes of particle appearance, viscosity, pH and matrine content were observed.The transdermal permeation of MBH was investigated by a dual chamber permeation and diffusion device with excised mouse skin as the barrier.Taking rabbits as the experimental subjects, the irritation of MBH to the normal skin and damaged skin was investigated.Results: The appearance, viscosity, pH and matrine content of MBH at 4 ℃ in 3 months did not change significantly.In vitro transdermal test showed that MBH had a good penetration rate on mouse skin, and no skin irritation occurred after single or multiple administrations.Conclusion: MBH has good stability and high rate of transdermal penetration without skin irritation, which is a promising drug delivery system of matrine with good application prospects.

With flexibly mounted ultra microelectrode, we have succesfully recorded the myocardial cell action potentials from the following 12 species experimental animals in situ: dog, sheep, pig, cat, rabbit, guinea pig, rat, mouse, chicken, pigeon, toad and frog.

BACKGROUND: Changing the local environment of spinal injury promotes the repair and regeneration of injured nerve and recovery of partial nervous function of spinal cord. Transplantation of olfactory ensheathing cells can improve the local internal environment of injured spinal cord.OBJECTIVE: To probe into the effect and safety of transplantation of olfactory ensheathing cells on functional repair of spinal cord and nerve in patients with obsolete spinal injury DESIGN: Self-control experiment.SETTING: Wards of the Department of Surgery, Taian Rongjun Hospital of Shandong Province.PARTICIPANTS: Totally 48 patients admitted for obsolete spinal injury in the Department of Surgery, Taian Rongjun Hospital, between June 2004 and July 2005 were recruited. There were 39 males and 9 females, aged 7 to 59 years with the mean of 36 years.METHODS: ①Cell culture: Olfactory bulb of aborted fetus was digested into single olfactory ensheathing cells, which were then cultured and puri fied for 1 to 2 weeks, and finally made into single cell suspension. ②Operation and cell transplantation: Under general anesthesia, the purified single cell suspension (about 0.05-0.20 mL) of olfactory ensheathing cells was injected into the corresponding spinal injury site through multiple points with home-made syringe of 0.45 mm in diameter. Stitches were taken out at postoperative 10 to 14 days. ③Evaluation of spinal function: Injury Scoring Standard made by American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) was used for scoring, comparison and statistical analysis at postoperative 1 day and 2 weeks to 2 months. ④Spinal function of 48 patients was observed or followed up through telephone at postoperative 3 weeks to 1 year.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Changes of postoperative sensory function of the patients. Changes of postoperative motor function of the patients. Changes of postoperative automatic nervous system of the patients.RESULTS: ①All the 48 patients had improvement in spinal function, and continued improved tendency was found in the observation and follow-up through telephone at postoperative 3 weeks to 1 year. ②Scoring by ASIA for sensory function was higher after operation than before operation (touch sensation: 56.9, 51.2, P ＜ 0.01; pain sensation: 55.2, 48.3, P ＜ 0.01). Sensory function was improved obviously at the lower shift of sensory level,generally more than 2 segments. ③Scoring by ASIA for motor function was higher after operation than before operation (44.8, 40.7, P ＜ 0.01), but the improvement was slow. ④Scoring by ASIA for automatic nervous system was higher after operation than before operation (18.0, 14.5, P ＜ 0.01); diaphoresis, increased enterokinesia and other automatic nervous system improved earliest.CONCLUSION: Transplantation of olfactory ensheathing cells promotes the spinal and neurofunctional recovery of patients with malignant spinal injury, and the therapeutic method is safe.
