Objective To investigate the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis in renal transplantation recipients.Method The clinical data of 8 renal transplantation recipients suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis infection were retrospectively analyzed.Result Fever, cough and expectoration were the most common symptoms, however, lacking typicality.Images of chest Xray and CT scan were various and couldn't verify TB infection from pneumonia.Seven of 8 cases were diagnosed through invasive methods, either bronchofibroscope or fiberthoracoscopy.Immunosuppressants were decreased in all cases.Three-drug regimens, including isoniazide, rifampicin and ethambutol or pyrazinarnide, were administrated as anti-tuberculosis chemotherapy. All the cases were cured, without episodes like acute rejection and liver function impairment. Conclusion Routine examinations are not sufficient to diagnose pulmonary tuberculosis in kidney transplantation recipients. While, invasive methods like bronchofibroscope and fiberthoracoscope are helpful. When diagnosed, patients should receive normative anti-tuberculosis treatment and immunosuppressive agents adjustment, which can benefit the prognosis of pulmonary tuberculosis in renal transplantation recipients.

OBJECTIVETo analyze the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings of radiation-induced liver injury following three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy.
METHODSA retrospective review of the MRI data was conducted in 20 patients treated between September 2000 and October 2005, who suffered liver injuries induced by 1 or 2 three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy sessions for liver neoplasm. The patients underwent MR scans with T2-weighted sequences and T1-weighted sequences in both plain and Gd-DTPA enhanced MRI. Four patients with suspected tumor relapse suggested by MRI were pathologically confirmed to have radiation-induced liver injury.
RESULTSAcute radiation-induced liver injury was represented by large patches of liver edema consistent with the irradiation volume, showing low signal intensity on T1-weighted images (T1WI) and high signal intensity on T2-weighted images (T2WI) without arterial phase enhancement after Gd-DTPA injection. Delayed radiation-induced liver injury was manifested by slightly low-intensity signal on plain T1WI and slightly high-intensity signal on T2WI without obvious arterial phase enhancement following Gd-DTPA injection but with marked enhancement during the portal-venous and delayed phases.
CONCLUSIONRadiation-induced liver injury presents characteristic MRI features, and plain and dynamic enhanced MRI can be of great value for its diagnosis.

Different processed products of Coptidis Rhizoma have its unique odor, which is an important assessment index for pro- cessed products identification of Coptidis Rhizoma. Objectify odor as an entry point in this study, an electronic nose technology was used, and a suitable method for Coptidis Rhizoma measurement was built firstly. Then different processed products of Coptidis Rhizoma were detected by the method built. Finally, different processed products were identified by combining with chemometrics based on the objective odor information obtained. Electronic nose detection indicated that a significant difference in odor between different processed products was performed. Coptidis Rhizoma processed or not can be distinguished based on statistical quality control (SQC) and soft independent modeling of class analogy (SIMCA). Principle component analysis (PCA) model showed that Coptidis Rhizoma and its various processed products discriminated obviously. In addition, in order to identify the processed products of Coptidis Rhizoma, a correct recognition rate of 100% was acquired by discriminant factor analysis (DFA) , and the initial identification rate and cross-validation recognition rate of linear discriminant analysis (LDA) is 100%, 94.4% respectively. In conclusion, differentiationin odor of different processed Coptidis Rhizoma was performed by the electronic nose technology used, and different products Coptidis Rhizoma were dis- criminated by combining with chemometrics. This research can be a reference for objective identification in odor of traditional Chinese medicine, and is good for the inheritance and development of traditional experience in odor identification.

OBJECTIVETo study the etiology, diagnosis and treatment of transverse testicular ectopia (TTE).
METHODSA case of TTE was treated with orchidopexy.
RESULTSSix months after the operation, both of the two testes were in proper positions with normal vascular supply.
CONCLUSIONTTE is a rare congenital abnormality of the male reproductive system with unknown etiology, and surgical correction remains the best option for treatment.

Chinese Journal of Biotechnology 2008;24(11):1975-1980
hUBEW, a newly identified class I ubiquitin conjugating enzyme, probably plays an important role in tumorigenesis and DNA repair processes. RNA interference (RNAi) is a process in cells to degrade specific homologous mRNA by forming duplex RNA and has been developed into a powerful tool to study gene functions. In this study, the H1-U6 dual promoter RNAi plasmid was constructed and the target sequence for hUbe2w could be transcribed from both strands and form a double stranded RNA with two 5'Uridine overhangs, which closely resembles endogenous functional siRNA. The hUbe2w cDNA was amplified from reverse transcription of the 293FT total RNA by RT-PCR, and then cloned into the pGL3-Control, pCMV-myc and pDsRed-express-C1 plasmids respectively, which were selected as report vectors to detect the RNAi effects. The plasmids were co-transfected into HEK293FT cells, and then the luciferase activity and hUBE2W protein expression were measured respectively. The Resulted reduction of mRNA and protein level demonstrate that the targets of 125 and 259 could significantly inhibit the hUbe2w expression.

A total of 126 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were randomized into two groups:one received glimepiride 1 mg twice daily and the other 2 mg once daily.Fasing blood glucose(BG),BG 2 h after meals(breakfast, lunch and dinner)and HbA_(IC)were tested,△and standard deviation of the 4 point BG were calculated. It was found that two kinds of administration of glimepiride were equally effective in decreasing BG and once daily aministration could ease better the fluctuation of BG.
