Objective To investigate the variations of glomerular function in rabbits with partial unilateral ureteral obstruction (PUUO). Methods Thirty healty adult Japanese White Rabbits were randomly divided into the control group (6 rabbits) and the obstruction group (24 rabbits). The right PUUO model was established according to Cheng′s method. According to the PUUO duration, they were eaqually divided into four subgroups:the 7 day PUUO group, the 14 d PUUO group, the 28 d PUUO group and the 56 d PUUO group. The dynamic renal imaging was performed on all rabbits, and the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) was also calculated. The correlation between the renal function and PUUO duration was analyzed , and functional variations in the healthy kidneys were observed. Results (1)To the control group, no significant difference in the renal function was found between the left and the right kidneys (t = -0.145, P = 0.894). However, to the PUUO group, the right renal GFRs were significantly lower than the left renal GFRs (P < 0.05). (2) To the right renal GFR, significant difference was observed between the 7 day PUUO group and the control group (t = 5.066, P = 0.001),but not among the 7 day PUUO group, the 14 day PUUO group, the 28 day and the 56 day PUUO group (P > 0.05), (3)No significant differences were found in the left renal GFRs among the five groups. Conclusions The function of PUUO kidneys is characterized by an obvious decrease in the early stage, followed with a steady state. The basic function of the opposite healthy kidney does not present the compensation phenomenon.

Objective: The content of hesperidin in Jinshuiliujun Decoction (JSLJD) was determined by RP HPLC. Methods: The chromatographic column was Hyperisl BDS C 8(10?). The mobile phase was acetonitrile water containing 8% acetic acid (17∶83). The flow rate was 1.0 mL/min. The column temperature was 40 ?C and the detection wavelength was 284nm. The external standard and peak area method were used to determine hesperidin content. Results: There was a very good linear relationship between hesperidin and peak area when the sample injection was from 0.02 to 2.00?g. The average recovery of adding sample was 100.5% and RSD was 1.85%. Conclusions: This method is simple and believable. It can be effectively used for the quality control of JSLJD.

BACKGROUNDTo analysis and evaluate the efficacy of I-131 labeled chimeric TNT antibody ( ¹³¹I-chTNT MAb) targeting therapy in advanced lung cancer, and then choose the best way of administration.
METHODSForty-three patients with advanced lung cancer were treated by 3 different protocols using ¹³¹I-chTNT MAb. Their diagnosis was confirmed by histology and there were 30 cases in stage IIIB and 13 cases in stage IV, 32 cases were newly diagnosed and 11 cases were retreated. All patients were divided into three groups and treated with different methods: (1)iv infusion (n=22); (2) intratumoral injection (n=16); and (3) combination iv (25% of total dosage) and intratumoral (75%) infusion (n=5). All patients received radiolabeled MAb at a total dosage of 2.96×10⁷ Bq/kg on days 1 and 14.
RESULTSThere were 2 complete response (4.7%), and 11 partial response (25.6%), the total response rate was 30.2% (13/43) in all patients. For those patients receiving iv injection alone, the response rate was 9.1%. For those patients receiving intratumoral injection alone, the response rate was 56.3%. There was significant difference between them (P < 0.01 ). The main toxicity was reversible bone marrow suppression, 2 cases (4.7%) with grade III leukopenia and 3 cases (7.0%) grade III thrombocytopenia.
CONCLUSIONS¹³¹I-chTNT has significant therapeutic effects on advanced lung cancer and the intratumoral injection is the best way of administration.

From 2006 to 2008, the susceptibility of different species of animal hosts to Campyebacter jejubni infection was observed in various areas of Jiangsu province, in which the API Campy System was used to perform the biochemical identification and the multiple PCR assay was employed to analyse the C.jejuni isolates from 3010 specimens of fouls. Cattle, pigs and monkeys, and in addition, the susceptibility of isolates to various antibiotics was also determined. In these specimens investigated 402 samples were found to be positive in the detection of C.jejuni with a positive detection rate of 13.36%. The positive detection rates in chicken, water fouls, milk cows, pigs, monkey, red crowned crane and wapiti were 15.83% (258/1630), 10.4% (52/100), 8.24% (42/510), 15.63% (25/160), 15% (15/100), 12.5% (15/80) and 0% (0/30) respectively. Meanwhile, the antibiotics to which the isolates from different hosts showed high rate of sensitivity to 27 antibiotics of 10 varieties included: chloromycetin (100%), Almocylin (99.7%), amicarcin (92.59%), cefprozil (91.67%), alchimycin (90.74%); while the antibiotics to which these isolates showed high rate of resistance were compound neoromin (99.7%), cefoperazone (99.07%), trimethoprim (97.22%), cepronatin (91.67%), cepromondo (99,07%) respectively. It is evident that the susceptibility of different hosts to C.jejuni infection and the status of drug-resistance of the isolates appear to be quite different and more complicated in Jiangsu province.
