Germplasm Resources Information System for Chinese Medicines (GRIS-CM) is designed and realized for improving the management efficiency of the germplasm resources for Chinese materia medica. The system integrates and analyzes the germplasm resources data, realizes information management of the germplasm resources for Chinese materia medica, and provides better services for scientific research institutions, governments, enterprises and medicinal herb growers. It contains 3 databases and 13 function modules, including the basic information base, literature library and gene bank. GRIS-CM can help manage the related data of germplasm resources for Chinese materia medica, and is better for data integration, analysis and statistics to find the rules and patterns. GRIS-CM provides flexible data comparison and visualization functions, and has significant practical value and research value.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Shuangyi Qushi Tongluo Capsules (SQTC) for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis (KOA).Methods A multi-center,randomized,parallel-controlled trial was carried out in 240 cases of KOA patients.The patients were divided into trial group (N =120) and control group (N =120),which was given SQTC,Xianlinggubao capsules respectively for 8 weeks.Before treatment,and 2,4 and 8 weeks after treatment,we recorded the scores of clinical symptoms and traditional Chinese medical syndromes,Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Arthritis Index (WOMAC) scores and knee function scores.After treatment,the clinical efficacy and adverse reaction were observed.Results (1) After treatment for 8 weeks,the clinical efficacy of the trial group was superior to that of the control group (P ＜ 0.05).(2) The trial group had better effect on improving the visual analogue scale (VAS) scores of knee pain,VAS scores of limitation of motion and time for morning stiffness than the control group after treatment for 8 weeks(P ＜ 0.05 or P ＜ 0.01).(3) After treatment for 4 and 8 weeks,the trial group had better effect on improving scores of traditional Chinese medical syndromes,WOMAC scores and Japanese Orthopedic Association(JOA) scores than the control group (P ＜ 0.05 or P ＜ 0.01).(4) Before and after treatment,the results of blood,urine and stool routine examination,liver and kidney function,and electrocardiography showed no significant changes.Conclusion SQTC are effective and safe in treating KOA,and can start an effect shortly.

Objective To observe the bioactivity of recombinant human scFv antibody against NH-lipopolysaccharide binding protein in vitro and in vivo. Methods KM mice, weighing 20-25 g, were burnt on the back to the third degree covering 20% total body surface area. The mice in only burn group were intraperitoneally injected with 1 ?g/g LPS and those in scFv-treated group with 1 ?g/g LPS and 0.5 ?g/g scFv after burn. The mice without any treatment served as controls. All mice were sacrificed in 1, 3, 6, 12, 24 h after all treatment and the whole blood, the tissues of liver, lung and kidney were collected. The serum concentration of TNF-?, IL-6 in burnt mice with endotoxemia was detected by ELISA and the pathological changes of liver, lung and kidney tissues were observed by light microscope. The inhibition of scFv antibody of different concentrations against NH-lipopolysaccharide binding protein on FITC-LPS binding with U937 cells was assayed by FCM. Results The histopathological changes of liver, lung and kidney in mice of scFv-treated group revealed that less inflammatory cell infiltration, less degenerated cells, weaker congestion in tissue as compared with control and only burnt mice. OBJECTIVE:To offer the literature basis for clinical safe drug use by literature research about ADR induced by Yishen juanbi pill. METHODS:Using“Yishen juanbi pill”as searching word,related literatures about ADR induced by Yishen juanbi pill were collected from CNKI,and then the occurrence of ADR was summarized and analyzed. RESULTS:A total of 15 literatures were included,involving 58 patients. Primary disease were mainly rheumatoid arthritis (28 cases,48.28%);organs/systems involved in ADR were digestive system (77 cases, 76.24%). Main clinical manifestations were epigastric discomfort, pernicious vomiting,diarrhea,etc. No obvious ADR was found. ADR-inducing dose was mainly 8 g,tid(47 cases,92.16%);ADR-inducing drug combination were two-drug combination (33 cases,56.90%). Fifty-eighe cases of ADR were recovered after treatment,and main treatment was drug withdrawal or symptomatic treatment. CONCLUSIONS:Although Yishen juanbi pill may induce ADR,those ADR can disappear spontaneously after drug withdrawal or the symptoms are recovered after symptomatic treatment. Yishen juanbi pill is a relatively safe Chinese patent medicine of anti-inflammatory,but ADR monitoring should be strengthened during application.

Objective To construct the recombinant adenovirus vector containing human survivin, and transfect it into dendritic cells. Methods Full length survivin cDNA was obtained from recombinant plasmid pCITE-survivin by PCR. The PCR product was double-digested with restriction endonucleases KpnⅠ and XholⅠ, and inserted orientationally into pAdTrack-CMV. The plasmid of pAdTrack-survivin was lined with PmeⅠ, and the fragment containing survivin was reclaimed and transfected into E. coli. BJ5183. After having been screened, the extracted plasmid of positive bacteria was transfected into HEK293 cells with liposome and was identified by the green fluorescence protein (GFP) expression and by PCR method. The virus was transfected into dentritic cells, and the expression of survivin was proved by the GFP expression and Western blot analysis. Results The recombined adenovirus-survivin was constructed successfully and the titer was about 1.65?10 8 pfu/ml. A band was observed by Western boltting and its relative molecular mass was about 16.5?10 3. Conclusion A recombinant adenovirus vector containing human survivin was constructed successfully, and the survivin protein was expressed by dendritic cells.

Objective To investigate the effects of alcohol extract of Kunmu decoction on proliferation and apoptosis of rheumatoid arthritis fibroblast-like synoviocytes (RA-FLS). Methods Synovial tissues were obtained from patients with active RA received joint replacement or arthroscopy. The surface antigen and the amount of apoptotic cells were determined by flow cytometry. The inhibitive effect was detected by MTT assay. Results The CD90+surface antigen of synoviocytes was (94.78 ± 0.98)%. The inhibitive effect on the proliferation in all treatment groups were in a time-and dose-dependent manner. The apoptosis rate was increased in a dose-dependent manner among all dosage alcohol extract groups. Conclusion Kunmu decoction might inhibit proliferation and induce apoptosis of RA-FLS.

Objective To evaluate the effect of hydrogen-rich saline on the regulatory T cells (Tregs ) in the peripheral blood during global cerebral ischemia-reperfusion (I/R ) in rats .Methods Seventy-seven male Sprague-Dawley rats ,aged 2-3 months ,weighing 260-300 g ,were randomly divided into 3 groups using a random number table:sham operation group (group S , n=11) ,group I/R (n=33) ,and hydrogen-rich saline group (group H , n=33 ) .Global cerebral I/R was produced by 4-vessel occlusion method .The bilateral carotid arteries were blocked for 15 min followed by reperfusion in I/R and H groups .In group H ,0.6 mmol/L hydrogen-rich saline 5 ml/kg was injected intraperitoneally at 0 and 6 h of reperfusion ,while the equal volume of normal saline was injected instead in the other two groups .Before ischemia (T0 ) in group S and at 6 ,24 and 72 h of reperfusion (T1-3 ) in I/R and H groups ,7 rats were chosen ,the blood samples from the peripheral vein were collected for determination of the number of Tregs . Then the animals were sacrificed and the spleen was removed for measurement of transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) content .The left 4 rats of each group were sacrificed at T0 and T1-3 and the brains were obtained for examination of the pyramidal cell morphology in the hippocampal CA 1 region and for determination of the number of pyramidal cells in brain tissues .Results Compared with group S , the number of pyramidal cells in the hippocampal CA1 region ,the number of Tregs in the peripheral blood and content of TGF-β1 in the spleen were significantly decreased at T1-3 in group I/R ( P<0.05) .Compared with group I/R ,the number of pyramidal cells in the hippocampal CA 1 region and the number of Tregs in the peripheral blood at T2-3 ,and the content of TGF-β1 in the spleen at T1-3 were significantly increased ( P<0.05) ,and the pathological changes of pyramidal cells were attenuated in group H .Conclusion The mechanism by which hydrogen-rich saline attenuates global cerebral I/R injury may be related to the increased number of Tregs in peripheral blood and promoted secretion of TGF-β1 in rats .

Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of dexmedetomidine on prevention of emergence agitation in adult patients during recovery period after abdomen surgery.Methods 1 20 ASA I -II patients scheduled for elective abdominal surgery under general anesthesia were randomly divided into three groups:dexmedetomidine group (group A),midazolam group (group B)and the saline control group (group C),40 cases in each group.40min before the end of surgery,dexmedetomidine 0.6μg/kg was continued intravenous infusion 1 0min in group A,midazo-lam 30μg/kg and 1 mL physiological saline were respectively intravenously injected in group B and group C.The post-operative recovery room (PACU)of restlessness,sedation,blood pressure,SpO2 and extubation time were observed. Results In of midazolam group,the time of anesthesia recovery[(1 8.2 ±1 .9)min],extubation[(32.1 ±3.9)min] and PACU staying[(48.7 ±3.1 )min]were significantly longer compared with the dexmedetomidine group[(1 3.1 ± 2.4)min,(26.5 ±2.2)min and (39.8 ±3.4)min,P =0.023,0.040 and 0.003]and the saline group[(1 2.6 ± 2.3)min,(24.8 ±2.9)min and (38.6 ±4.3)min,P =0.01 7,P =0.023 and P =0.001〗.The postoperative seda-tion scores of dexmedetomidine [(2.3 ±0.2 )points,P =0.025 ]and midazolam group [(2.4 ±0.1 )points,P =0.020]were significantly higher than the saline control group[(1 .1 ±0.5)points].The postoperative agitation score of dexmedetomidine (1 .3 ±0.5)points was lower than midazolam group [(2.5 ±0.5)points,P =0.01 1 ]and the saline control group[(2.4 ±0.6)points,P =0.020].HR and MAP of three groups at 2 min before extubation were observed,in the immediate extubation and at 5 min after extubation,the HR of dexmedetomidine group[(62.7 ± 4.1 )times/min,(67.3 ±3.4)times/min and (63.2 ±4.3)times/min]was significantly delayer than midazolam group [(72.3 ±3.4)times/min,(84.9 ±5.3)times/min and (82.1 ±3.1 )times/min],(P =0.002,P =0.001 and P =0.001 )and the saline control group [(73.6 ±2.9 )times/min,(85.3 ±4.7 )times/min and (83.3 ± 4.5)times/min],(P =0.001 ,P =0.023 and P =0.038)at the three time.In the immediate extubation,the MAP of patients in dexmedetomidine group[(87.3 ±4.2)mmHg)]was lower than midazolam group[(93.1 ±4.3)mmHg, P =0.001 ]and the saline control group[(95.6 ±5.8)mmHg,P =0.001 ].At 5 min after extubation,the MAP of patients in both of dexmedetomidine[(84.5 ±3.1 )mmHg)]and midazolam[(85.1 ±2.9)mmHg]group were lower than that in the saline control group[(92.3 ±4.6)mmHg,P =0.023 and P =0.038〗.Conclusion Dexmedetomi-dine could be one of the ideal drug to relieve emergence agitation in adult patients during recovery period after abdo-men surgery and the curative effect is better than midazolam.

Jingui Yaolue is a part ofTreatise on Cold-Attack and Miscellaneous Diseases. Because of the archaic words, students lost the interest on it. So it became the questions that how to make students interested in learning theJingui Yaolue and to make traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) classical guide clinical treatment. Thus, a try has been made to teach the TCM classic in the clinical practice apprentice setting rather than the classrooms. Here, some experiences about apprentice teaching in clinical practice of Jingui Yaolue were shared.

Objective To investigate the attitude toward and perception of the risk of nuclear power plant among the public residing in vicinity of nuclear power plant,as well as the related factors.Methods A face-to-face interview on perceived radiation risks was conducted among 1408 individuals in Liangyungang City, Jiangsu Province.where the Tianwan nuclear power plant was under construction.The four groups was defined according to the distance between the residence of the subjects and the Tianwan nuclear power plant:<4 km,4- 8 km,8-30 km and 30-50 km.A was used to collect information on education,working history,religion, perception of major industries hazards especially nuclear power plant,and major factors may influence their perceptions.Ordinal logistic regression model was used to analyze the data.Results About 91.18% of the interviewee heard about the nuclear power plant,35.36% of them had knowledge about Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident,71.05% of them believed that the nuclear power plant had no negative effects on environments, 37.03% of them believed that the nuclear energy was safe.74.27% of them believed that it was necessary for China to develop nuclear energy.63.29% of them supported the construction of the nuclear power plant in local area.Ordinal logistic regression analysis revealed that the higher education,higher family annual income,male, economic benefits from the nuclear power plant construction,and trust in local government having competency to handling emergencies were positive factors;otherwise,impression on nuclear power plant of bad influences on environment and health were negative factors.An inverted U-shaped with a right tailing relationship between negative attitudes toward nuclear power plant and distance to the plant was found.Conclusions Education, gender,family annual income and expectation of economic benefit returns were the major factors influencing the perception of and attitudes toward nuclear power plant.More works needed to be done to mitigate the negative attitude of the residents in vicinity of nuclear power plant and enhance the public acceptability .
