1.Pondering the research on syndrome of traditional Chinese medicine
Journal of Integrative Medicine 2004;2(2):86-9
Syndrome research is a challenging field in the research on traditional Chinese medicine and there is no breakthrough at all in this field as yet, although some progresses from various aspects have been achieved in recent years. The definition of syndrome based on the conceptions of traditional Chinese medicine is basically clear, but the qualitative macro-criteria for syndrome are not standardized and the research methods for quantification of such criteria are not unified. These hindered the processing of the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine to a great extent; therefore new research methods for syndrome using techniques of modern sciences should be further investigated. During the research of syndrome, it is suggested that: (1) the research should be turned to complex syndrome from the fundamental simple syndrome gradually, on the basis of certain diseases in western medicine; (2) animal experiment would be of no significance before quite a successful research performed in human body; (3) the results of the research of syndrome should be in agreement with the life science as well as the entire natural science.
2.Problems in cancer treatment and major research of integrative medicine
Journal of Integrative Medicine 2003;1(3):168-70
There exist some problems in the present cancer treatment, such as: (1) prevalence of excessive treatment; (2) lack of long-term research plan; (3) lack of reasonable comprehensive treatment; (4) lack of operative individualized treatment; (5) the superiority of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) was undervalued and underused. Integrative medicine should play an important role in the prevention and treatment of cancer. Further research should be carried out in the following aspects: (1) enrich and improve the theoretical knowledge of TCM on cancer; (2) enhance the research on rationalization and standardization of cancer treatment program of integrative medicine; (3) enhance the research on criterion of therapeutical effect of integrative medicine in treating cancer; (4) enhance the research on prevention and treatment of postoperative recurrence and metastasis of cancer by integrative medicine.
3.Cancerous toxin is the key pathogenic factor of malignant tumor
Journal of Integrative Medicine 2008;6(2):111-4
The definition of cancerous toxin and the relationships between cancerous toxin and other factors including the etiopathogenesis, pathogenesis and treatment of malignant tumor were discussed in this paper. The author suggests that the cancerous toxin is engendered by the disequilibrium of human body, which is the foundation of tumorigenesis. Cancerous toxin is the main pathogenic factor or one of the main pathogenic factors during the development of malignant tumor, hence it is also the key point for understanding and treating malignant tumor.
4.The regulation of Guzhen Fang on the neuroendocrine and immunol systems of rats injected by cyclophoshamidum
Chinese Journal of Immunology 1985;0(06):-
The changes of monoamine neurotransmitters in hypothalamus, luteinizine hormone(LH),estrediol(E_2),testosterone(Ts)in serum,?-endorphin(?-EP)in plasma and the immunity oflymphocytes in spleen of rats injected by cyclophoshamidum(Cy)were observed. In the sametime we shudied the effects of Guzhen Fang(GZF)on the pathological changes caused by Cy.the results were as following:1.After the rats were injected by Cy,the contents of monoamineneurotransmitters in hypothalamus disordered,?-EP in plasma increaed greatly, the function ofhypothalamus-hypophsis-gonadal(HHG)axis and immunity of lymphocytes in spleen decreasedevidencely.2.GZF could correct above-mentioned disorders.3.Si Junzi Tang could also increasethe function of immunity as well as GZF.but the range of regulation of it on the neuroendocrinesystem is narrower than that of GZF.
5.Review of arsenic trioxide effect on solid cancer
Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2003;24(4):440-443
Clinical trials have demonstrated that arsenic trioxide(As2O3) was effective in the treatment of acute promyelocytic leukemia(APL), based on this facts, studies have been carried out to study its role in the treatment of solid cancer at home and abroad. Primary in vitro study showed that As2O3 could treat the cancer of digestive system such as hepatoma, esophageal carcinoma, gastric cancer, and the cancer of urinary and reproductive system such as cervical cancer, ovarian cancer, bladder transitional carcinoma,as well as lung cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, etc. The mechanism of As2O3 actions may be the induction of apoptosis, the inhibition of growth and the promotion of differentiation of solid cancers. This article reviews on As2O3 in treatment of solid cancer.
6.Chinese herbal medicine for side effects of transarterial chemoembolization in liver cancer patients: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Journal of Integrative Medicine 2012;10(12):1341-62
Primary liver cancer is one of the most commonly seen tumors in clinical practice. Due to the stealthiness and fast progress of liver cancer, only 20% of the patients may have chance to receive operation for radical therapy. Patients seldom get benefit from systematic chemotherapy and as a result, local chemotherapy methods such as transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) have become the mainstay in the treatment of liver cancer. Compared with systematic chemotherapy, TACE produces fewer side effects and most of such side effects are caused by postembolization syndrome manifested as nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, fever, loss of appetite, etc.
7.Possibility and necessity of constructing new nanoformula systems of traditional Chinese medicine.
Journal of Integrative Medicine 2010;8(2):101-5
The past decade has witnessed the remarkable progress on nanotechnology and nanoherb. With the globally rapid development of nanotechnology, we are considering to construct new nanoformula systems of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) by using porous materials, multilayered core-shell particles or nanoparticles containing various multifunctional parts. With the compatibility of sovereign, minister, assistant and courier in a formula, new nanoformula systems of TCM will have various advantages, such as containing multiple active species, controlled release, targeting function, and labeling and tracing capabilities. Using the latest breakthroughs of nanotechnology for the modern research of TCM will greatly help enhance the ability to investigate the principles of TCM, and to design, screen and utilize new nanoformula systems of TCM.
8.Thoughts about undergraduate education of traditional Chinese medicine
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2006;0(10):-
Nowadays undergraduate education of TCM is still the principal method to train professionals, which played a significant role in the theoretical study and clinical practice of TCM.However, there were still some problems in the TCM students'education, such as lack of TCM characteristics in course system, scarcity of culture basis, decline in the thinking and clinical practice abilities, etc.Combined with the experience in undergraduate education of TCM,the author advanced a few proposals to solve these questions.
9.Necessity and Feasibility of Establishing 8-year Education Program of TCM
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2002;0(01):-
In 5-year undergraduate education of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),obvious contradiction between learning time and learning contents results in some problems such as lack of humanity knowledge, less study of TCM theories, weak clinic skills and so on.The establishment of new 8-year education program of TCM has significant meaning in improving TCM education quality, fostering excellent TCM talents and promoting development of TCM.It is completely feasible to run 8-year education of TCM as an experiment through cooperation with comprehensive university in running a school and using 8-year fostering experience of clinical specialty of Western Medicine for reference.
10.Clinical and Experimental Studies on the Anti—toxic and Side—effect of Sisheng Decoction in Radiotherapy
Changquan LING ; Lianqi CHEN ;
Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 1992;0(12):-
Cases of nasopharyngeal carcinoma receiving radiotherapy were treated by Sisheng Decoction which yielded marked antagonistic actions against the decrease of WBC and platelets.Thus,97.4% of the cases were able to successfully receive the whole course of radiotherapy.Animal experiment showed that the ac-tions of the Decoction was realized by regulating thecontents of ?—endorphine in the blood.
