Objective: To analyze the effects of treatment of squamous cell carcinoma of tongue with N 0. Methods: 145 cases of squamous cell carcinoma of tongue with N 0 were retrospectively reviewed.22 cases underwent resection of primary tumor without elective neck dissection (END) (control group).123 cases underwent resection of primary tumor with END (END group).Follow-up was carried out for more than 3 years or till the death of patients. Results:Lymph node metastases was indentified in 33 patients in END group after operation and in 4 in control gruop during follow-up.The total occult lymph node metastases was found in 25.52% of the patients.4 (18.18%) died from neck or lung metastasis in control group and 7 (5.69%) in END group (P

Purpose:To study the therapeutic mechanism through inducing apoptosis of tumour by protamine inhibiting angiogenesis . Methods:The vascular density and apoptotic index(AI)in the tumour were investigated by immunohistological and Tunel(terminal deoxynucletidy1 transferase-mediated dU TP nick end-labelling) methods in animal tumour model with experimental treatment. Results:The vascular density of tumour was much lower in controls. Apoptosis appeard in the treated group and AI is (7.67?1.70)%. Conclusions:Protamine could reduce the vascular density of tumour very much and induce the apoptosis of tumour cells. The therapeutic effects were achieved by inhibiting angiogenesis and inducing apoptosis of tumour.

Objective To investigate the self-management behaviors in patients with liver cirrhosis and analyze its influencing factors. Methods Totally 103 liver cirrhosis patients were recruited by convenience sampling method. They were investigated by using Self- management Questionnaire for Chinese patients with liver cirrhosis. Results The total score of self-management behaviors was 63.69 ± 13.60. All subscales scoring from high to low in turn were medication, diet management, condition monitoring and daily management. Conclusions The self-management level in patients with liver cirrhosis of decompensation period need to be improved, nursing staff should pay attention to effect evaluation during the hospital health education, to ensure that patients can master disease self-management knowledge, to improve the self-management behavior of patients with liver cirrhosis.

Objective To systematically assess the efficacy and safety of non-indwelling urinary catheter during perioperative period of cesarean section. Methods The databases including Medline(PubMed),EMbase,Cochrane Library,CNKI and WanFang Data were retrieved by computer. The randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on the efficacy and safety of non-indwelling urinary catheter during perioperative period of cesarean section were comprehensively collected. Two reviewers independently screened literatures, extracted the data and assessed the quality. The Meta-analysis was conducted by using RevMan 5.3 software. Results A total of 5 RCTs involving 1 090 patients were included. The meta-analysis results showed that compared with the indwelling urinary catheter group, although the non-indwelling urinary catheter group increased the incidence rate of urinary retention[RR=11.67,95%CI(2.22,61.24),P<0.01],but significantly decreased the incidence rate of urinary tract infection(UTI) [RR=0.10,95%CI(0.04,0.26),P< 0.01] and incidence rate of initial urination discomfort [RR=0.17,95%CI (0.04,0.74),P=0.02],significantly shortened the initial time of off-bed activities [SMD=-3.68 ,95%CI(-5.25,-2.12),P<0.01]and hospitalization time [SMD=-1.03,95%CI(-1.67,-0.38),P<0.01].There were no significant differences in the operation time[SMD=-0.13,95%CI(-0.32,0.07),P=0.20] and incidence rate of postpartum hemorrhage (PPH)[RR=1.50,95%CI (0.43,5.26),P=0.53],The incidence rates of bladder injury in the two groups were similar. Conclusion According to the evidence of current clinical researches, selecting non-indwelling urinary catheter in elective cesarean section is effective and safe, prompting that indwelling urinary catheter during the perioperative period of cesarean section is selective rather than routine indwelling.

Our earlier research has shown that mono-substituted N-phenyl-2, 2-dichloroacetamide exhibited much higher anti-cancer activity than the lead compound sodium dichloroacetate (DCA). In this paper, a variety of multi-substituted N-phenyl-2, 2-dichloroacetamides were synthesized and biologically evaluated. The results showed that 3, 5-disubstituted N-phenyl-2, 2-dichloroacetamide analogues had satisfactory potency. Among them, N-(3, 5-diiodophenyl)-2, 2-dichloroacetamide had an IC50 of 2.84 micromol x L(-1) against non-small cell lung cancer cell line A549 and could induce cancer cell apoptosis.

Objective We reported the rehabilitative nursing points of patients with pectoralis minor muscle transplantation for recovery of thumb oppositional function. Methods We selected 10 patients who underwent pectoralis minor muscle transplantation for recovery of thumb oppositional function and gave them perfect preoperative examination and psychological nursing. We also implemented rigorous monitoring postoperation and auxiliary electric stimulation and functional exercises. The emphasis was put on the exercise of thumb oppositional function. Results The thumb oppositional function of all the ten patients recovered. The myodynamia reached level 4 and the shape of thenar was satisfying after 6 to 12 months of follow-up visit. Conclusions Sufficient preoperative psychological nursing and effective postoperative rehabilitative treatment had pivotal significance for the success of operation and the recovery of thumb oppositional function.

West China Journal of Stomatology 2003;21(2):112-139
OBJECTIVEThe purpose of this study was to investigate the cisplatin release in peripheral blood and tumor tissue after cisplatin-loaded albumin microspheres (CDDP-AMS) were infused through lingual artery for treating carcinoma of tongue.
METHODSAnticancer agent cisplatin was encapsulated with biodegradable and non-antigenic albumin. The cisplatin-loaded albumin microspheres, which were 56.3 microns in diameter, were used for treating 7 patients with squamous carcinoma of tongue by infusing through lingual artery. The cisplatin in peripheral venous blood and carcinoma tissue were measured for analyzing the drug release in vivo.
RESULTSConcentration of the drug in peripheral venous blood increased to the highest level in 90 minutes after CDDP-AMS was infused through lingual arterial and still could be detected until 10th day. The cisplatin concentration in tumor tissue kept considerably stable and could be detected until 17 days.
CONCLUSIONCDDP-AMS had the effect of controlled release in vive. Effective and steady local drug concentration played the role of killing tumor cells, the low concentration in peripheral blood reduced the side effects of cisplatin to minimum as well. It is concluded that CDDP-AMS is a useful and recommendable method for treating the carcinoma of tongue.

Objective:
To establish a method to detect the concentrations of ethylenediamine in the air of workplace by Ion chromatography.
Methods:
Ethylenediamine in the air of workplace adsorpted by Silicone tube, then ultrasonic desorped by Sulfuric acid solution (0.1 mol/L) , the desorption solution qualitative and quantitative determination by Ion chromatography.
Results:
For ethylenediamine, the calibration curves were liner in the range of 0.1-100.0 μg/ml, the method detection limit is 0.1 μg/ml, the minimum detectable concentration is 0.13 mg/m3 (in terms of sampling 7.5 L) . The desorption efficiency is more than 90% on spiked levels of 2.0, 4.0 and 8.0 μg/ml, the average desorption efficiency of the method was 96.1%, the precision was 1.8%-2.1%. The recovery rate of the added standard is 98.5%-104.2%.
Conclusion
The method simplifies the preprocessing steps and improves the sensitivity. All the indexes are in conformity with the requirements of the method formulation guide. It is suitable for the determination of ethylenediamine in the air of the workplace.
