1.Growth factor in diabetic neuropathy and nerve regeneration
Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 1981;0(03):-
Diabetic neuropathy is the most common peripheral neuropathy, and it is important to enhance both nerve regeneration and prevent nerve degeneration in its treatment. Disturbed nerve regeneration in diabetes has been ascribed,at least in part,to decreases of some neurotrophic factors or the decreases of their receptor expressions. This paper reviewed the effect of some major neurotrophic factors on diabetic neuropathy and their application in clinical treatment.

Neoadjuvant therapy has been gradually applied to the treatment of colorectal liver metastasis in recent years. Many clinic researches indicate neoadjuvent chemotherapy, neoadjuvent radiotherapy and neoadjuvent chemoradiotherapy can improve surgical reaction rate and radical rate of colorectal liver metastasis, and can shrink the primary tumor and metastasis, improve the resection rate and sphincter preservation rate, and reduce the recurrence rate of locally advanced lower rectal cancer. Neoadjuvent therapy has great clinical practical value in the multi-modality treatment for colorectal metastasis.

Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2012;47(3):399-404
To study the effect of Cu2+ and Zn2+ on amyloid-beta peptides (Abeta) aggregation, the morphology, size and cell toxicity of Abeta40 aggregates formed with the metal ions have been observed by the methods including ultraviolet spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The results showed that Cu2+ and Zn2+ can accelerate Abeta40 aggregation, and both changed the morphology and size of Abeta40 aggregates. Zn2+ induced Abeta40 to form fibrous Abeta40 aggregates, while the amorphous and fibrous aggregates were produced by the interaction between Cu2+ and Abeta40. In addition, H2O2 was produced when Abeta40 reduced Cu2+. The relationship between metal ions and Abeta40 aggregates was analyzed, and the function of metal ions in Alzheimer's disease (AD) was illustrated in the research.

Journal of International Oncology 2011;38(9):703-707
Colorectal cancer is the third high incidence of tumor in the world, and liver is one of the most common sites of distant metastasis.Liver metastasis accounts for 50%-75% in distant metastasis.Only about 10% -15% of patients are candidates for resection, and the recurrence is easy.Selective internal radiation therapy is a new type of radiotherapy. It is partial and liver-targeted.For unresectable colorectal liver metastasis, selective internal radiation therapy alone or in combination with other therapies can reduce cancer focus, prolong the survival, and maybe improve overall survival.

Objective To reproduce an animal model of psychological simulation training, and to investigate the influence of psychological training on the ability of counter physical stress. Methods Thirty-two Wister rats were assigned to four groups,8 for each, namely control group(group A),psychological training group(group B),stress group(group C)and psychological training prior to stress(group D).Rats in group A received neither psychological training nor stress, group B received psychological training without stress, group C received stimulation including stress of strong noise and strong light, but without psychological training, and group D,after psychologically training for 4 weeks, received the same stress stimulation as group C.Twenty-four hours after stress,open-field experiment was done on group C and D.At last, rats in all the 4 groups were anesthetized by ether and 5ml of blood was drawn from each rat in order to detect the content of beta-endorphin(?-EP),corticosterone and IL-1?.Results In the open-field experiments, the psychologically trained groups(B and D)showed remarkably lower scores than the un-trained groups(A and C).The levels of ?-EP and corticosterone were significantly elevated in rats after receiving stress stimulation, while that of IL-1? lowered dramatically. The level of ?-EP and corticosterone in psychological training group(group D)was remarkably lower, while that of IL-1? was higher, than the stress group(group C)during the stress. Conclusion Psychological training can lessen the inhibitory effects of harmful stress on endocrine and immunologic functions, and enhance the physical ability to confront stress.

Objective To investigate the effect of over-expressed Cyr61 on the expression of extracellular matrix of human renal tubular epithelial cells(HKC), and explore the role of Cyr61 in the pathogenesis and development of autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease(ADPKD). Methods Cyr61 gene cDNA was amplified by RT-PCR. A recombinant plasmid pcDNA3.1+ Cyr61 was constructed by cloning Cyr61 gene into pcDNA3.1. HKC cells were transfected with wild-type Cyr61 plasmid vector (pcDNA3.1+Cyr61). Then the fusion of Cyr61 gene and expression of its protein were detected by RT-PCR and Western blot. The mRNA expression of Cyr61, collagen Ⅰ, collagen Ⅳ, and laminin were determined in four groups (the untransfected cells, pcDNA3.1 transfected cells, pcDNA3.1+Cyr61 -transfected cells and cyst-lining epithelial cells) by fluorescence quantum PCR. Results The amount of Cyr61 protein in Cyr61-transfected cells and cyst-lining epithelial cells were much greater than the control. The mRNA expression of Cyr61, collagen Ⅰ, collagen Ⅳ and laminin in Cyr61-transfected cells were all amplified significantly, and the level of collagen Ⅳwas much higher than collagen I(P

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1983;0(05):-
Objective To compare the applicability between ARF special severity scoring systems and intensive care unit (ICU) general severity scoring systems on predicting the hospital mortality of critical acute renal failure (ARF) patients. Methods The data of 29 patients with critical ARF were retrospectively analyzed. Two ARF special severity scoring models, acute tubular necrosis individual severity index (ATN-ISI) and Stuivenberg hospital acute renal failure scores (SHARF), and 3 ICU general severity scoring models, Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation Ⅱ (APACHE Ⅱ), APACHE Ⅲ, Mortality Prediction Model Ⅱ (MPM Ⅱ), were used in the analysis. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were drawn up to assess the ability of these models in hospital mortality discrimination. Results All severity scores of the patients in survivor group (n=9) were lower than those of the patients in non-survivor group (n=20). There were statistical differentiations in the scores of ATN-ISI, APACHE Ⅱ, MPM Ⅱ-24h, MPM Ⅱ-72h between the survivor group and the non-survivor group (P

Objective:To investigate the effect of mycophenolate mofetil(MMF)on proliferation and apoptosis of cyst-lining epithelial cells in patients with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease(ADPKD),and to compare its effect with that of rapamycin(RAPA)in vitro. Methods: Primary cultured cyst-lining epithelial cells were treated with MMF and RAPA at different concentrations(0,0.005,0.05,0.5,5 ?g/ml)for 48 h or 72 h.The inhibitory effects of them on the cells were evaluated by MTT assay;the cell cycle distribution and apoptotic ratio were determined by flow cytometry. The morphological changes of cyst-lining epithelial cells were observed under transmission electron microscope. Results: Both MMF and RAPA significantly inhibited the proliferation of cyst-lining epithelial cells in a dose-and time-dependent manner. After 48 h treatment, the cells were blocked at S phase by MMF and at G0/G1 phase by RAPA.Both drugs induced cell apoptosis, with the maximal apoptotic rate being(5.53?0.27)% for MMF and(4.36?0.10)% for PAPA.Typical morphological changes of apoptotic cells were observed under electron microscope. Conclusion: MMF can effectively inhibit proliferation and induce apoptosis of cyst-lining epithelial cells, but its inhibitory effect is weaker than that of RAPA.
