Objective To profile genotypes of Trichophyton rubrum isolates from different body sites in patients with onychomycosis. Methods DNA was extracted from 30 T. nibium isolates from 10 patients with onychomycosis, and subjected to PCR with tandemly repetitive subelement 1 (TRS1 )-specific primer to analyze the number of repetitive elements in the non-transcribed spacer (NTS) region of ribosomal DNA gene, and to random primer amplification with the random primer OPAA11. The genotype variety was evaluated for T. rubrum isolates from different body sites of patients with onychomycosis. Results All the strains were classified into 5 genotypes based on the copy number of TRS1, and into 11 genotypes by RAPD analysis. The genotypes of T. rubrum seemed unrelated to sites of infection. Genotype diversity was observed among T. rubrum strains from different body sites of the same host in 7 out of the 10 cases as shown by amplification of TRS1 region, in 8 out of the 10 cases as demonstrated by RAPD analysis. Conclusion A single host with onychomycosis could harbor multiple genotypes of T. rubrum at different body sites, suggesting external sources of infection rather than infection from a different site in the same individual.

Objective To investigate the clinical and endoscopical features of patients suffered from Henoch-Schonlein purpura (HSP). Methods Retrospective analysis of the clinical manifestation in 197 purpura patients, of which 81 cases were HSP, and described the endoscopic features of 19 cases who underwent gastroscopy and/or colonoscopy. The specimens from 15 cases were evaluated histopathologically. Results Eighty-one patients were diagnosed as HSP, 51 (63. 0% ) of them had a history of upper respiratory tract infection 1 -3 weeks before, taking antibiotics or animal protein prior to the onset of the illness. In 21 patients, abdominal symptoms presented firstly, which occurred 1 -40 days prior to the appearance of skin rashes. Seventy- four (91. 4% ) patients experienced abdominal pain, 37(45. 7% ) patients had digestive tract bleeding. Endoscopic features included diffused congestive edema of gastrointestinal mucosa, widespread hemorrhagic spots, erythema, erosion and ulceration. Lesions were relatively severer in small intestine than those in large intestine. Histological manifestations showed massive neutrophilic infiltration in mucosa and submucosa, fibrotic necrosis of small vessels, focal bleeding, erosion and ulceration. There was prominent accordance in the extents of endoscopic and pathologic manifestation with the severity of gastrointestinal symptoms. Conclusions Forty one percent of purpura patients presented as HSP, of them 26% had the abdominal symptoms firstly. Small bowel lesions were severer than those of stomach or colon. The typical features of the illness and endoscopic findings are very helpful to the early diagnosis of HSP.

Objective To study the anti-neuroglioma effect of methyl-mercuric chloride(MMC) by observing the morphological changes of apoptotic neuroglioma cells induced with MMC in rats with brain neuroglioma.Methods The rat models of neuroglioma were established,and divided into two groups.The rats in experimental group were lavaged with MMC 1 week after injected with C6 glioma cells,10 mg?kg-1every day,the rats in control group were treated with sodium chloride at the same dose.24 d after inoculation all rats were sacrificed except natural death,the brain tissues were obtained,and the pathohistological changes were observed under light microscope and transmission electron microscope.Results The macropathological result showed that the tumor volume in experimental group was smaller than that in control group.Under light microscope,in experimental group the growth density of C6 ghioma cells was lower than that in control group,and the apoptotic cells with smaller volume and karyopyknosis were found.The result of transmission electron microscope showed that in experimental group,the glioma cells had some changes such as karyopyknosis,chromoplasm margination,nuclear fragmentation and vacuolar degeneration and so on.Conclusion MMC has inhibitory effect on the proliferation of C6 glioma in rats in vivo,its mechanism may be related to inducing the apoptosis of neuroglioma cells.

Objective To evaluate the risk factors for prognosis in liver cirrhotic patients with acute esophageal variceal bleeding (EVB). Methods Retrospective analysis was carried out in patients with liver cirrhosis,who were admitted to the hospital for EVB between January 2000 and December 2006 . All patients were follow-up to August 31st, 2009. The death of the patients was identified as the end of the study. The vital signs and results of laboratory tests were recorded when patients were admitted to the hospital. Child-Pugh score/grade, model for end stage liver disease (MELD) score and Rockall score were calculated. Results Ninty-five cases (66 males and 29 females) were enrolled in the study. Among them, 60 cases died and 35 cases survived for (42. 61±33.21) months (ranged from 2 days to 114 months). Univariate Cox regression analysis showed that age, male, Child-Pugh score/grade, MELD score, Rockall score, white blood cell counts and active hepatitis B were risk factors for death in liver cirrhotic patients with EVB (P＜0.05), while high level of hemoglobin and high hematocrit, endoscopic variceal sclerosis therapy or surgical treatment were protective factors (P＜0.05). Multivariate Cox regression analysis revealed that Child-Pugh grade (RR= 4. 997,95%CI:2. 787～8. 960, P＜0.01),Rockall score (RR= 1. 284,95%CI:1. 062～1. 553,P=0. 010), high counts of white blood cells (RR= 1. 072,95%CI: 1. 001 ～ 1. 148, P= 0. 046) were risk factors for prognosis of liver cirrhotic patients with EVB. Conclusion It is demonstrated that Child-Pugh grade,Rockall score and high counts of white blood cells are risk factors for prognosis of liver cirrhotic patients with EVB.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the allergen distribution of subjects suffered from the allergic rhinitis in Changji district. METHOD: Skin prick test was employed on all the 1 564 sufferers by 17 sorts of allergic stock solution, with the physiological saline to be the negative control and the histamine to be the positive control. RESULT: The positive rate of allergen citanest was 85.17%. Furthermore, Chenopodium and Lupulus, as the main allergen substances, were found out to be the highest positive rate among 1332 subjects who were detected to be positive, with pollen of trees following. Whereas, the positive rate of allergic rhinitis caused by dust mite, fungus and canine epidermis was relatively low. CONCLUSION The main allergens of the allergic rhinitis in Changji district are Chenopodium and Lupulus, similar as the dust mite. The allergen prick test, which is characterized as accuracy, sensitiveness and fastness, is an essential way to seek and screen those allergens. Thus, it can provide scientific instruction to the prevention of the allergic rhinitis in Changji district.

Objective: To study the associations between variants of mTORC1 of PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway and colorectal cancer. Methods: In this hospital-based case-control study, at the First Affiliated Hospital, Xinjiang Medical University from 2000 to 2013, 665 primary colorectal cancer cases and 695 cancer-free controls were genotyped at 10 potentially functional single nucleotide polymorphism (SNPs) loci of mTORC1 (mTOR: rs1034528, rs2295080; Raptor: rs1062935, rs3751934; mLST8: rs3160, rs26865; DEPTOR: rs2271900, rs4871827; AKT1S1: rs2290774, rs2353005) to assess their associations with risk of colorectal cancer by Logistic regression analysis. Results: In single-locus analysis, found a significantly decreased risk of colorectal cancer associated with mLST8 rs26865 by recessive genetic model, especially in populations of ≤68 years of age (OR=0.64; 95%CI=0.43-0.96, P=0.031), female (OR=0.61; 95%CI=0.38-0.99, P=0.046), non-smoking (OR=0.55; 95%CI=0.35-0.87, P=0.010). mTOR rs1034528 CC genotypes were associated with higher risk of colorectal cancer in >68-year-old populations (OR=3.34; 95%CI=1.12-9.91, P=0.030). Raptor rs3751934 CA/AA genotypes were associated with lower colorectal cancer risk in population of body mass index(BMI)>25 kg/m² (OR=0.68; 95%CI=0.47-0.98, P=0.038); and AKT1S1 rs2290774 CC genotypes were associated with lower colorectal cancer risk in non-smoking population (OR=0.67; 95%CI=0.45-0.99, P=0.048). Furthermore, found that populations carrying more than two low-risk genotypes were associated with lower colorectal cancer risk, compared with that of populations carrying less than two low-risk genotypes (OR=0.74, 95%CI=0.58-0.95, P=0.017), especially in population of ≤68 years of age, male and BMI>25 kg/m^2, and non-smoking. Conclusions SNPs of mTORC1-related genes individually or jointly contribute to colorectal cancer susceptibility in Chinese. Further studies of larger cohorts are needed to validate the findings.

METHODThe compounds were isolated by column chromatography on macroporous resin and silica gel and elucidated by physical and chemical evidences and spectroscopic analysis.

RESULTTwo compounds were obtained and identifiedas methyl-protodioscin and methyl-protodeltonin.

CONCLUSIONMethyl-protodioscin and methyl-protodeltonin were isolated from this plant for the first time.

Objective To investigate the clinical significance of D-dimer in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Methods The study group comprised 261 SLE patients who were admitted in ward from 2005 to 2008 in Peking University People's Hospital Collect the clinical data to investigate the clinical significance of D-dimer. Results ( 1 ) The D-dimer levels of 56 patients were increased due to coexist reduced renal function, infections, disseminated intravascular coagulation ( DIC), liver disorders, pregnancy and injury. With the exception of above patients, 142 ( 69. 3 ) patients were increased in total 205 patients. (2)The level of D-dimer was positively correlated with SLE disease activity index( SLEDAI ) score ( r =0. 598,P =0. 000), and was associated with anti-dsDNA antibody, ESR, C-reactive protein(CRP) and complement C3 and C4. (3)D-dimer level was associated with important organ involvement. (4)All patients with thrombosis had increased D-dimer, but patients without thrombosis had normal or increased D-dimer levels. Conclusion The level of D-dimer elevates in patients with active disease or important organ involvement , it can not identify thrombosis. All patients with thrombosis had increased D-dimer levels.

Objective To evaluate the correlations between the cerebral hemodynamic changes of severe acute encephalopathy with the clinical features from emergency periods to stable periods and the value of transcranial Doppler ultrasonography( TCD)in cerebral function assess. Methods Thirty patients with acute brain diseases by assisted mechanical ventilator from Jun 2014 to May 2015 in PICU were included and followed up to Nov 2015,then grouped by Glasgow Coma Scale( GCS),MRI,prognosis( mental sequelae after half a year). Each subject was examined through the temporal bone window by TCD at emergency peri-ods and stable periods. The systolic cerebral blood flow velocity( sCBFV),and pulsatility index( PI)of bilat-eral middle cerebral artery( MCA),anterior cerebral artery,posterior cerebral artery were analyzed. Multivari-ant analysis of variance,repeated measures analysis of variance was conducted to compare sCBFV and PI of MCA among groups in different clinical periods. The variants included sex,disease diagnosis,prognosis, MRI,GCS,and the first abnormal TCD. The variation within groups was tested via a Hotelling T2 test. All sCBFV and PI of each artery and the D-value of sCBFV between the different periods were compared accord-ing to the prognosis groups. Results (1)Five patients could be lateralized,and their lateralization of MRI focus was consistent with the abnormal sides of sCBFV in the stable periods.(2)The D-value of sCBFV in left MCA between the different periods in the poor prognosis group was significantly higher than that in the good prognosis group[(71. 93 ± 58. 21)cm/s vs.(33. 20 ± 30. 23)cm/s,t = -2. 287,P =0. 033].(3) Multivariant analysis of variance showed that GCS classification and disease diagnosis were significantly cor-related with the cerebral hemodynamic changes respectively(P =0. 042,0. 005,respectively).(4)sCBFV and PI of left MCA reduced significantly in the stable periods than those in the emergency periods( P =0. 002,0. 003,respectivly). Conclusion The cerebral hemodynamic changes by TCD from emergency peri-ods to stable periods are consistent with the clinical status,dynamic evaluation by TCD may facilitate the evaluation of brain dysfunction in the severe acute encephalopathy.

Conclusion The morbidity of erosive reflux esophagitis rate is increasing parallel with the increase of age and severity of the lesion, and prevalence is more in males than females. The morbidity rate in males was higher than that in females. The incidence of e-rosive reflux esophagitis is not affected by H. pylori infection.
