Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2009;(18):846-848
Objective:To investigate the clinical characters and treatments of maxillofacial fractures. Method: A review of 101 maxillofacial fractures was presented with respect to age, sex, cause of fractures, pattern of fractures, treatments and therapeutic effect. Result:The majority of fractures were found in 20-to-50-years-old males. Most fractures happened in summer and the leading causes were traffic accidents. Mandible was the most part of fractures and associated combined injures were found in 31 cases. Rigid internal fixation was the primary treatment. Conclusion:Maxillofacial factures mainly occurred in young adult males and traffic accidents were the main causes. Rigid internal fixation after exact replacement was the primary common treatment.

Objective To evaluate the clinical application of bilobed flap in repairing soft tissue defect of nose. Methods A consecutive series of 15 patients in which this reconstruction was performed was reviewed retrospectively, and the results studied 6 months later were evaluated. Results In all patients the results were satisfactory, with excellent cosmesis and function. There were no complications such as infection, necrosis and organ deformation. The satisfaction rate was14/15. Conclusions Bilobed flap has the characters of excellent cosmesis and function, making it an excellent choice of reconstruction of nasal defect.

Objective To explore the application effects of peer assisted learning method on the skill training on clinical nursing for new arrival nurses, so as to provide evidence for clinical skill training. Methods Cluster sampling method was adopted and randomly grouped it as the experimental group (n=185) and the control group (n=186) involved 376 new recruited nurses in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University in 2015. The nurses in experimental group used peer assisted learning method and conventional nursing, and the only conventional nursing was adopted in the control group. The effects in two groups were compared. Results A total of 185 nurses acquired (93.58±4.69) average score in skill examination of experimental group while it was (88.73±4.39) in the control group, and there were statistical significance between two groups (t=10.144,P<0.01). Nurses in experimental group believed they developed greater skills in mastering the theoretical and operation knowledge, as well as the critical thinking ability, communication ability, cooperation ability and so on, and so does the teachers and head nurses in the ward(P<0.05). Conclusions The peer assisted learning method is a good way for nursing skills training and improving the nurse's overall service quality and clinical nursing quality.
