Objective To investigate radiation-induced alternations of phospholipids in epithelial cells, and to provide experimental evidence for understanding the mechanism of radiation-induced intestinal injury. Methods The intestinal epithelial cells(IEC-6)in rats were divided into three groups:normal control group,8 Gy X-ray irradiation group and 12 Gy X-ray irradiation group.Phospholipids were extracted at 6 h or 24 h after radiation and then measured by high-performance liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry(HPLC-MS).Results At 6 h after radiation, the phospholipids in 8 Gy irradiation group didn't vary significantly, while those in 12 Gy irradiation group changed. The PG,PI and Lyso PC were significantly up-regulated(F=5.37,9.60,9.88,P<0.05).However,at 24 h after radiation, many PE and PG species in both irradiation groups declined(F=5.15-99.77,P<0.05)and SM species increased in 12 Gy irradiation group(F=4.35-7.92,P<0.05).Conclusions The ionizing radiation could disorder phospholipid metabolism in IEC-6 cells with a dose-dependent manner.

Objective To explore the preliminarily clinical value of strain rate parameters using velocity vector imaging (VVI) evaluating left ventricular regional endocardial systolic function in patients with coronary artery heart disease (CAD).Methods A total of eight six inner subjects who were suspected as CAD was enrolled in the study.Patients with the vascular stenosis rate ≥ 50% were defined as the CAD group, patients with the vascular stenosis rate < 50% were defined as the coronary atherosclerosis group, and patients with the completely normal angiographic results were included in the control group, according to the results of angiography. The left ventricular endocardial systolic strain rate parameters of VVI were obtained in standard long axis views (apical two, three, and four-chamber view) and short axis views (at the level of the mitral valve, papillary muscles, and apex). The strain rate parameters were global longitudinal endocardial systolic strain rate in the apical two, three, and four-chamber views (A2-GLSRs,A3-GLSRs,and A4-GLSRs),global radial endocardial systolic strain rate in short axis view of the mitral valve level, papillary muscles, and apex (MV-GRSRs,PM-GRSRs,and AP-GRSRs),and global circumferential endocardial systolic strain rate in short axis view of the mitral valve level, papillary muscles, and apex (MV-GCSRs,PM-GCSRs,and AP-GCSRs).The parametric differences were compared among three groups. Results All the subjects included in the present study had normal left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and there was no significant difference in LVEF across three groups.Compared to other groups, the control group had significantly higher E/A ratio. The LV endocardial systolic strain rate parameters were all significantly reduced in the CAD group compared to the control group and the coronary atherosclerosis group (all P < 0.05).Compared to the control group[(-1.37 ± 0.25)/s],the coronary atherosclerosis group [(-1.12 ± 0.42)/s] had significantly lower MV-GCSRs (P <0.01).Conclusions VVI is useful for quantitative assessment of the left ventricular systolic function in CAD.MV-GCSRs might have the potential to predict early left ventricle (LV) systolic dysfunction in subjects with coronary artery stenosis < 50%.

The glutamate transporter EAAT 2 ( rodent nomencla-ture GLT-1:glutamate transporter 1), which is a predominantly astroglial glutamate transporter in the hippocampus and the pre-frontal cortex , is responsible for the majority of extracellular glu-tamate uptake .The glutamate transporter EAAT 2 can decrease the high levels of glutamate in the synaptic cleft , avoiding gluta-matergic excitotoxicity to damage the glial cells and neurons . Currently, the transporter EAAT2 has become a research hotspot of depression .This article aims to summarize roles of glutamate transporter EAAT2 in the occurrence and treatment of depres-sion.

It has gradually become a consensus in the industry that the traditional Chinese medicine gypsum should be decocted first, but the understanding of decocting method is not completely unified in the works of doctors since ancient times, and there are occasional disputes about whether it is necessary to decocting first. In this study, the phase determination, physical and chemical characterization, qualitative and quantitative analysis of inorganic and organic components of the decoctions of herbal pairs and the whole prescription Maxingshigan decoction with gypsum as the center, and the pre-decoctions and co-decoctions of them were carried out to explore the scientific connotation of the pre-decoctions of gypsum. Results show that decoction phases were different between the co-decoctions and pre-decoctions of licorice-gypsum (Gancao-Shigao, GC-SG), ephedra-gypsum (Mahuang-Shigao, MH-SG) and almond-gypsum (Xingren-Shigao, XR-SG). The results of the micromorphology, particle size and zeta potential of herbal pairs and prescription (Quanfang, QF) showed that the supramolecular particles in pre-decoctions were smaller, more uniform and more stable than the co-decoctions. The results of organic components analysis showed that different cooking methods did not change the organic composition and content. ICP-OES results showed that the content of inorganic components in pre-decoctions was higher than in co-decoctions for the same boiling time of gypsum. The IR results showed that the pre-decoctions had stronger chemical functional group effect than the co-decoctions. To sum up, compared with the co-decoction, the pre-decoction of gypsum has different phase state and chemical composition interaction, and the difference of inorganic composition is an important material basis affecting the change of phase state compared with the co-decoction. It indicates that the material basis of traditional Chinese medicine decoction is indeed different whether gypsum is decocted first or not, which can provide a basis for the clinical application of decocted gypsum.
