Objective To study the clinical result of the surgical treatment of upper cervical vertebra disease from high anterior cervical retropharyngeal approach.Methods Among 14 patients,there were 7 C_(2.3)disc hernia- rions combined with C_(2.3)dislocations,3 Hangman fractures,2 odontoid process fractures and 2 C_3 tumors.All patients underwent the high anterior cervical retropharyngeal approach.10 cases were given discectomy of C_(2.3)or focus clear- ance of C_3,iliac bone autograft or titanium cage filled and internal fixation with titanium plate.2 cases of odontoid process fractures were given anterior screw fixation.Results 14 cases got successful exposure.The decompression, reduction,lesion clearance and fusion with internal fixation were done in all patients.There were no important vascu- lar or nerve injuries.The surgical treatment could improve the spinal cord nerve function to a certain degree for the cases with compression of spinal cord.Conclusion Good exposure of upper cervical spine and effective surgical oper- ation could be achieved from high anterior cervical retropharyngeal approach,with minimal trauma and complication, and it was a favorable approach.

Objective:This study was designed to explore the effects and mechanisms of raltitrexed on the growth of the human gastric cancer cell line (MGC-803) transplanted in nude mice. Methods: Models of MGC-803 xenograft transplanted in nude mice were established. Body weight, mental state, food, and stool of the nude mice were closely monitored, and the inhibitory action in the tu-mors was evaluated after drug intervention. Distribution and apoptosis of the tumor cells were examined through flow cytometric assay. P53 mRNA and protein expression levels were determined through reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction and Western blot analysis. Changes among the three groups were compared. Results:Body weights and tumor volumes of the nude mice were lower in the raltitrexed and 5-fluorouracil (5-Fu) groups than those in the control group. Tumor inhibition ratios were 49.02%and 45.75%in the raltitrexed and 5-Fu groups, respectively. In the G0/G1 stage, the number of cells decreased in the raltitrexed and 5-Fu groups. Signifi-cant differences were found between the experimental and control groups (P<0.01). In the S stage, the number of cells increased in the raltitrexed and 5-Fu groups, with significant differences from the control group (P<0.01). P53 mRNA and protein expression levels in the raltitrexed and 5-Fu groups were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.01), but no significant differences were found between the raltitrexed and 5-Fu groups (P>0.05). Conclusion:Raltitrexed can inhibit the growth of MGC-803 xenograft trans-planted in nude mice and shows inhibitory effect similar to that of 5-Fu. Raltitrexed can induce the S-phase block of the cell cycle and cell apoptosis in the MGC-803 xenografts in the nude mice. This drug may exhibit an antitumor effect by upregulating the p53 mRNA and protein expression levels.

In this article, by taking cardiovascular diseases (CVD) as a cut-in point, roles of "minute collateral-microvascular" lesions in the occurrence and development of CVD were further explored. The interventional effect of collateral-unblocking medicines under the guidance of Vessels Collateral Theory was also in-depth explored, hoping to leading Chinese medical prevention and treatment of CVD.

Objective To quantitatively evaluate the left ventricular systolic synchrony in patients with chronic renal failure (CRF) by real-time three-dimensional echocardiography (RT-3DE). Methods Thirty patients with CRF and twenty-five normal subjects were enrolled in this study.The M-mode ejection fraction (M-EF), left ventricular end diastolic internal diameter (LVIDd), interventricular septum diameter (IVSd), left ventricular posterior wall diameter (LVPWd) were obtained on two-dimension. The global and regional volume-time curves were obtained on three -dimensional. The end diastolic volume (LVEDV),end systolic volume (LVESV) and ejection fraction (LVEF) of left ventricule, the time to minimal systolic volume (Tmsv) of 16,12,6-segmental standard deviation (Tmsv16, 12, 6-SD), maximal difference (Tmsv16, 12, 6-Dif) were derived from Qlab software . The above parameters as a percentage of the cardiac cycle with different heart rates between patients were also calculated from the Qlab software, which were Tmsv16, 12, 6-SD% and Tmsv16, 12, 6-Dif %, rspectively. Results The indices of HR, LVIDd, IVSd, LVPWd and LVESV were significantly higher while LVEF was significantly lower in the CRF group than those of the control group (P<0.05 or P<0.01); The indices of systolic asynchrony of Tmsv16,12-SD%, Tmsv16,12-Dif, Tmsv16 ,12 ,6-SD/R-R%,Tmsv16,12,6-Dif/R-R% were significantly larger in the CRF group than those of the control group(P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusions RT-3DE provides a simple, intuitional and noninvasive approach to assess the systolic synchrony of all the LV segments simultaneously and LVEF in patients with chronic renal failure.

Aim To study the effect of Baoxinbao film on endothelin(ET) and nitric oxide(NO) secretion in patients with stable angina pectoris(SAP).Methods 76 patients with SAP were randomly divided into two groups, with 40 cases in the baoxinbao group plastered with baoxinbao film and 36 cases in the isosorbide dinitrate group receiving isosorbide dinitrate. The levels of plasma ET and NO before and after treatment were observed. Through scale-up cultivation of Eriobotrya japonica suspension cells using WAVE bioreactor, the cell growth and ursolic acid (UA) accumulation were studied. The comparison test was carried out in the flask and the reactor with cell dry weight (DW) and UA content as evaluation indexes. The culture medium, DW and UA content were compared in 1 L and 5 L working volumes of bioreactor. The orthogonal test with main actors of inoculation amount, speed and angle of rotation was developed to find the optimal combination, in 1 L working volume of bioreactor. DW of the cell growth and the UA content in bioreactor were higher than those of the shaker by 105.5% and 27.65% respectively. In bioreactor, the dynamic changes of elements in the fluid culture, the dry weight of the cell growth and the UA content in 1 L and 5 L working volumes were similar. Inoculation of 80 g, rotational speed of 26 r · min(-1), and angle of 6 ° was the optimal combination, and the cell biomass of 19.01 g · L(-1) and the UA content of 27.750 mg · g(-1) were achieved after 100 h cultivation in 1 L working volume of bioreactor. WAVE Bioreactor is more suitable than flasks for the E. japonica cell suspension culture, and culture parameters can be achieved from 1 L to 5 L amplification.

Objective To construct an expression plasmid carrying the specific siRNA of survivin gene,and to evaluate its silencing effect on the expression of survivin gene and its inhibition effect on the growth of gastric cancer cells.Methods The specific siRNA of survivin gene was designed and synthesized,and an expression plasmid pAdGFP-siRNA was constructed.Gastric cancer cell line SGC-7901 was cuhured and transferred with pAdGFP-siRNA,then the silencing of survivin gene expression and the growth inhibition of cancer cell mediated by pAdGFP-siRNA were identified.Results The growth of gastric cancer cells was inhibited after transferring the pAdGFP-siRNA,with the inhibition rate of 68.2% compared to the control group.Immunohistochemistry showed that the specific siRNA markedly silenced the expression of survivin gene in cancer cells.Conclusions The overexpression of survivin gene in gastric cancer cells results in the high proliferation and the resistance to the chemo- and radio-therapy of the cancer cells.The specific siRNA can markedly silence the expression of survivin gene and inhibit the growth of cancer cells.
