Objective To investigate the efficacy of electrochemotherapy with pingyangmycin (bleomycin A5) for the treatment of human prostate cell line PC 3M in vitro. Methods The prostate cancer cells were treated by pingyangmycin alone, electric pulse alone and by electrochemotherapy, i.e. electric pulses were delivered after pingyangmycin was given. Cytotoxicity was examined by MTT assay and histological examination. Results The maximum nontoxic dose for pingyangmycin was 0.1 ?g/ml; The maximum voltage not showing cytotoxicity was 125 V/mm.The 50% inhibitory concentration was 100 times reduced in electrochemotherapy than pingyangmycin alone. Conclusions The cytotoxicity of pingyangmycin can be enhanced by electric impulses. Pingyangmycin may be a novel drug for electrochemotherapy.

Objective To analyse and understand the main reasons for cesarean section,in order to reduce the rate of cesarean section. Methods Clinical analysis was performed in 6781 patients who underwent cesarean section from January 2004 to December 2008. Results ①Cesarean section rate was increasing from 2004 to 2008, which was 32. 00% (840/2625) , 35. 00% (966/2760) , 39. 08% (1186/3035), 45. 98% (1669/3630) and 51. 88% (2120/4086) .respectively. Compared to 2004, the cesarean section rate in 2008 increased significantly (P <0.01). ②The proportion of the main cesarean section indications changed, the proportion of social factors ,fetal factors and maternal factors were increasing gradually. Cephatopelvic disproportion in 2008 decreased significantly compared to that in 2004(x2 = 194. 805 ,P <0. 01). There was significent difference in each indication from 2004 to 2008. Conclusions The cesarean section rate has increased due to medical reasons and social reasons. To ensure the safety of the mothers and children, vaginal delivery should be adopted as far as possible. The cesarean section without medical indication should be prohibited.

Objective To investigate the effects of ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA), dexamethasone (DEX), and S adenomethionine (SAMe) on the pregnant rats with intrahepatic cholestasis induced by ethinylestradiol (EE). Methods A total of 50 15 day pregnant Wistar rats were randomly divided into five groups: control group, EE group, UDCA group, DEX group, and SAMe group. In EE group, rats were subcutaneously injected with EE (2.5 mg?kg -1 ?d -1 ) for 5 d. In the control group, rats received subcutaneous injection of appropriate volume of propylene glycol (PG) for 5 d. In UDCA, SAMe, and DEX groups, rats were administered with the same dose of EE plus UDCA (100 mg?kg -1 ?d -1 ), SAMe (100 mg?kg -1 ?d -1 ), and DEX (1 mg?kg -1 ?d -1 ) for 5 d, respectively. The serum levels of aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alkaline phosphatases (ALP), glycocholic acid (GC), and total bilirubin were measured after cesarean. Morphologic changes of the liver of pregnant rats and the growth and development of the fetal rats were observed. Results The serum levels of ALT, ALP, GC in rats of UDCA group were decreased significantly as compared with those in DEX group ( P
