Composite materials are widely used in various areas including medicine. They are constructed with two or above kinds of materials by using physical or chemical methods in macroscopic scale and possess new properties.Based on the characters of composite materials, several theoretical methods for studying the mechanical properties of composite materials are introduced in detail as well as their wide application in medicine.

Chinese Journal of Medical Ultrasound (Electronic Edition) 2008;5(2):295-302
Objetcive To analyze the contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS)features in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC) of different size and to discuss the diagnostic value of CEUS in CCRCCs. Methods The contrast-enhanced and conventional US features of 80 CCRCCs confirmed pathologically were retrospectively analyzed. Samples were divided into three groups by diameters: small CCRCCs (≤30 mm), medium CCRCCs(>30 mm) and large CCRCCs(>50 mm). The tumoral vascularity, lesion homogeneity and presence of an anechoic rim were observed on conventional US. The enhancement of echogenicity, homogeneity and pseudocapsule were evaluated on CEUS. Results Among the 80 renal masses, 32 were small CCRCCs, 28 were medium CCRCCs while the large CCRCCs were 20. On conventional US, 18.8%(6/32) of small CCRCCs, 71.4%(20/28) of medium CCRCCs and 95%(19/20) of large CCRCCs demonstrated as heterogeneous and the differences were highly statistically significant, whereas there were no differences in the tumoral vascularity and the presence of pseudocapsule sign among the three groups. On CEUS, 28.1%(9/32) of small CCRCCs, 85.7%(24/28) of medium CCRCCs and 100%(20/20) of large CCRCCs showed a homogeneous enhancement. The incidence of pseudocapsule sign in medium tumors was higher than small and large groups(71.4%,50% and 25%,respectively). There were statistically significant differences among the three groups in the enhanced homogeneity and the presence of pseudocapsule sign. However, all the three groups revealed mainly isoechoic and hyperechoic and there were no differences among them. Compared with conventional US, CEUS depicted significantly the increased tumoral vascularity (51.3% vs. 87.5%) and pseudocapsule sign(22.5% vs. 51.3%). Eight lesions demonstrated heterogeneous contrast enhancement on CEUS while homogeneous on conventional US, but there were no differences in lesion homogeneity between conventional US and CEUS findings. Conclusions Different sizes of CCRCC showed distinct CEUS features in the enhanced homogeneity and the presence of pseudocapsule sign. CEUS is more effective on improving the sonographic characteristics of tumoral visualization and may provide important information of US findings for the diagnosis of renal cell carcinoma.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the positive rate of ?-lactamase,oprD2,aminoglycosides modifying enzyme and qacE△1 gene among clinical isolated strains of multi-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa in our hospital.METHODS P.aeruginosa was determined by VITEK,and MIC was determined by agar dilution method.TEM,IMP,VIM,oprD2,aac(3)-Ⅱ,aac(6′)-Ⅰ,aac(6″)-Ⅱ,ant(3″)-Ⅰ,ant(2″)Ⅰ and qacE△1 in strains were detected by polymerase chain reaction(PCR).RESULTS The positive rate of TEM,aac(3)Ⅱ,aac(6′)-Ⅱ,ant(3″)-Ⅰ and ant(2″)-Ⅰ in multi-resistant P.aeruginosa were 51.4%,48.6%,40.0%,54.3%,45.7% and 60.0%,respectively.No IMP and VIM genes were detected.CONCLUSIONS Positive rate of ?-lactamase, aminoglycosides modifying enzyme is high in 35 tested strains, and that should be paid more attention.

China Biotechnology 2006;0(04):-
Proteins extracted from two varieties of Chinese roses leaves were separated by two- dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (2-DE) with immobilized pH gradient (IPG). Many difference proteins were isolated with molecular weights ranging 10-30 kDa and pI5-6. Three proteins of high levels observed in a gel were excised and identified using peptide mass fingerprinting and MS-MS. A summary of the identified proteins and their putative functions are presented. They are identified as eIF-5A、LEA protein and Hsp17. 5. Functions of these proteins in plant tolerance to high temperature were discussed.

Objective To observe the effect of using Ambroxol hydrochloride(AM)to wash respiratory way to treat neonatal respiratory distress syndrome(NRDS) in ventilator,to explore dynamic changes of respiratory mechanics after using AM to wash respiratory way. Methods Thirty premature infants were chosen according with diagnosis criterion, which were randomly divided into 2 groups: NS group(n=15);AM group(n=15).Both NS and AM groups were treated with Babylog 8 000 ventilator, and routine treating and nursing,NS group was given for washing respiratory way in NS group, whereas AM was done in AM group.Pulmonary compliance(C),time constant(Tc),respiratory resis-tance(R),C20/C and minute volume(MV)were observed in both groups.Blood gas was routinely checked after 1 h ventilation treatment, and X ray was shot after 24 h.Results Pulmonary C significantly increased in weaning than that of beginning ventilation(P0.05),MV significantly increased in group AM than NS,respectively[(0.56?0.12) L/min and(0.35?0.11) L/min(P0.05).But ventilator-treating-time was markedly shorter in group AM than NS,respectively(60.52?6.23) h and(98.21?5.82) h(P

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) reference standards plays an important role in the quality control of Chinese herbal pieces. This paper overviewed the development of TCM reference standards. By analyzing the 2010 edition of Chinese pharmacopoeia, the application of TCM reference standards in the quality control of Chinese herbal pieces was summarized, and the problems exiting in the system were put forward. In the process of improving the quality control level of Chinese herbal pieces, various kinds of advanced methods and technology should be used to research the characteristic reference standards of Chinese herbal pieces, more and more reasonable reference standards should be introduced in the quality control system of Chinese herbal pieces. This article discussed the solutions in the aspect of TCM reference standards, and future development of quality control on Chinese herbal pieces is prospected.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2003;28(8):756-793
OBJECTIVETo Study the protective effect of curcumin on three models of experimental liver injury in mice.
METHODThe experimental models of live injury were induced by carbon tetrachloride (CCl4), D-galactosamine (D-Gal N), and Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) Plus lipolysaccharides (LPS), respectively, in mice. The serum ALT, AST, NO and liver MDA were measured to evaluate the protective effect of curcumin on experimental injury in mice.
RESULTCurcumin (50 mg.kg-1, 100 mg.kg-1, 150 mg.kg-1), like biophenyldicarboxylate, were shown to significantly inhibit the increase of serum ALT, AST, NO and liver molondialdehyde (MDA) content induced by CCl4, D-Gal N, BCG + LPS.
CONCLUSIONCurcumin showed protective effect against liver injury induced by CCl4, D-Gal N, BCG plus LPS.
