OBJECTIVETo analyze the change in drug resistance of Staphylococcus aureus (SAU) in the PLA general hospital from January 2008 to December 2012, and to provide solid evidence to support the rational use of antibiotics for clinical applications.

METHODSThe SAU strains isolated from clinical samples in the hospital were collected and subjected to the Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion test. The results were assessed based on the 2002 American National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards (NCCLS) guidelines.

RESULTSSAU strains were mainly isolated from sputum, urine, blood and wound excreta and distributed in penology, neurology wards, orthopedics and surgery ICU wards. Except for glycopeptide drugs, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) had a higher drug resistance rate than those of the other drugs and had significantly more resistance than methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) (P < 0.05). In the dynamic observation of drug resistance, we discovered a gradual increase in drug resistance to fourteen test drugs during the last five years.

CONCLUSIONDrug resistance rate of SAU stayed at a higher level over the last five years; moreover, the detection ratio of MRSA keeps rising year by year. It is crucial for physicians to use antibiotics rationally and monitor the change in drug resistance in a dynamic way.

Objective To observe the histopathologic and ultrastructural characteristics of cornea and adjacent conjunctiva in Mooren’s ulcer. Methods The samples of limbal and central cornea and adjacent bulbar conjunctiva taken from active Mooren’s ulcer after lamellar keratoplasty were cut into paraffin sections and ultrathin sections and observed by light and transmission electron microscopy. The samples taken from patients of a Terrien’s marginal degeneration and a bacterial corneal ulcer were used as controls. Results Chronic inflammation including lymphocytes and plasma cells infiltrating existed in bulbar conjunctiva and sclera of Mooren’s ulcer. Limbal corneal epithelium, Bowman’s membrane, anterior stroma and adjacent superficial sclera melted and the inferior stromal collagen disorganized. The epithelial basement membrane of ulcer progressive edge had been destroyed while the epithelium and stroma kept quiescent. Lymphocytes infiltrated in conjunctiva and corneal epithelium of Terrien’s marginal degeneration with normal epithelial basement membrane, while Bowman’s membrane was destroyed. The epithelial basement membrane of bacterial corneal ulcer was intact. Conclusion Bulbar conjunctiva may act as a local lymph node of Mooren’s ulcer. Epithelial basement membrane of Mooren’s ulcer may have some abnormality as it was invaded first during ulcer progressing and it’s valuable to have a further study.

Objective To explore the personality characteristics of abused children in order to reduce the incidence of child abuse.Methods Two hundred and ninty five middle school students were investigated with general questionnaire and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire of children. Eighty six students experiencing child abuse (CA) last year as study group and one hundred and ninety six non-abuse children as controls (NCA) were analyzed by means of Eysenck Personality Questionnaire of children.Results The score of neuroticism in CA group was significantly higher than that in the control group (55.62±10.60/52.65±10.98,t=-2.114 P=0.035). The score of lie in CA group was significantly lower than that in control group (42.21±9.87/46.04±9.20,t=3.184 P=0.002). On the impact of different sex, the psychoticism score of male was significantly higher than that in the control group(52.37±11.49/48.04±9.97,t=-2.227 P=0.028), and the lie score was significantly lower than that in control group(41.03±9.18/46.18±8.79,t=3.125 P=0.002).The scores of those in the female were not significant.Conclusions There is a close association between the unstable emotion and child abuse in children, so training emotional self-control and emotional expression of children might be a intervention strategy in the future. In addition, the frequency of lie in children is probably one of factors that determine whether children are abused or not.

OBJECTIVETo compare the clinical efficacy of postoperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy combined with systemic chemotherapy to systemic chemotherapy alone for serosa-involved colorectal cancer.

METHODSAccording to the criteria of serosa-involving in colorectal cancer, 332 cases were divided into 2 groups prospectively without randomization. Study group(n=166) was treated with intraperitoneal chemotherapy combined with systemic chemotherapy, and control group(n=166) with systemic chemotherapy alone. Incidence of local recurrence, peritoneal metastasis, hepatic metastasis, other distant metastasis and 3-year, 5-year overall survival(OS) rate of two groups were compared.

RESULTS3-year and 5-year OS rates of stage II(B in study group were similar to those in control group(chi(2)=0.612,P=0.434). The above rates of stage III( in study group were higher than those in control group(chi(2)=3.989,P=0.046). Either the study group or the control group, the 3-year and 5-year OS rates of patients undergone laparoscopic surgery or open surgery were similar(P=0.839, P=0.172). Incidences of local recurrence, peritoneal metastasis and hepatic metastasis in study group were 1.9%,3.8% and 3.8% respectively, lower than those in control group(8.2%,9.5% and 10.1%,P<0.05). Distant metastasis rate in study group was similar to that in control group. In study group, intraperitoneal chemotherapy regimen with Oxaliplatin had lower rates of peritoneal metastasis and hepatic metastasis as compared to that with Cisplatin(0.9% vs 8.8%,P=0.019), while the incidences of local recurrence and other distant metastasis were similar.

CONCLUSIONSPostoperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy combined with systemic chemotherapy improves 3-year and 5-year overall survival rates in patients with stage III( serosa-involved colorectal cancer, and decreases local recurrence, peritoneal metastasis and liver metastasis rate, especially when intraperitoneal chemotherapy regimen contains Oxaliplatin. Comparing with open surgery, laparoscopic surgery dose not improve 3-year and 5-year overall survival rates in patients receiving combined chemotherapy or systemic chemotherapy alone.

? AlM: To estimate the clinical significance of the microculture of humor and vitreous and vancomycin intraocular injection in treatment of suppurative endophthalmitis associated with intraocular foreign bodies.
?METHODS: Totally 65 patients with penetrating eye trauma and retained intraocular foreign bodies in emergency operation and intraocular injection from January 2012 to September 2014 were regarded as the study group, another 62 patients with penetrating eye trauma and retained intraocular foreign bodies in emergency operation without intraocular injection before August 2011 were regarded as the control group. Aqueous humor and vitreous humor were taken from each patient of the study group and the control group for bacteria and fungus cultivation. The study group was treated with 1mg vancomycin intraocular injection after operation, while the control group was not.
?RESULTS: The incidence of endophthalmitis in the control group was 16% ( 10 cases ) , while in the study group was 3% ( 2 cases ) , with significant difference between two groups (x2 =6. 32, P<0. 05). The aqueous humor germiculture in both groups was in low positive rates, the study group was 3% (2 cases) and the control group was 2% (1 case), with no difference between two groups (P>0. 05). The positive rate of vitreous humor germiculture in study group was 14% (9 cases), and the incidence of endophthalmitis was 3%. The positive rate of vitreous humor germiculture in control group was 11% (7 cases) and the incidence of endophthalmitis was 16%, with significant differences between two groups (P<0. 05).?CONCLUSlON: lntraocular foreign bodies treated with emergency operation and vancomycin intraocular injections can decrease the incidence of suppurative endophthalmitis and have a good vision prognosis for the second stage of operation.

Objective:To investigate the expression and prognostic significance of CD19 in patients with Acute myelogenous leukemia with AML1-ETO positive. Methods: Clinical data of 66 patients AML with AML1-ETO positive who were newly diagnosed from Jan 2010 to Dec 2015 were collected. To retrospectively analyze the relationship between clinical characteristics and expression of CD19,so dose the prognosis. Results:The positive rate of CD19 expressing in AML with AML1-ETO positive was 50. 0%. There were no statistically significant differences in terms of age,gender,hemoglobin,platelet,percentage of bone marrow blasts,accompanied with chromosome ,gene mutations between patients with and without CD19 expression(P>0. 05). The white blood cell count(WBC) of the CD19 negative group was higher than CD19 positive group,while showed significant difference(P=0. 027). Although the relapse-free survival (RFS) of patients with CD19 expression was higher than those without,no significant difference was calculated (P=0. 105). Patients with CD19 expression had superior overall survival ( OS ) compared to those without CD19 expression ( P = 0. 030 ) . Multivariable analysis for OS identified CD19 positivity as an independent predictor associated with better prognosis. Conclusion: The expression of CD19 in AML with AML1-ETO positive may be an indicator associated with better prognosis.

Nitrobenzene is one of the toxic compounds. Much work had focused on biodegradation of it sofar. Two main pathways for nitrobenzene biodegradation, oxidative and partial reductive pathways, were reviewed in this article. The mechanism of these pathways including involved enzymes and genes was introduce in details. Comparative analysis of the pathways would provide basis for the development and application of biodegradation technology for nitrobenzene and other organic pollutants.
