Transcranial Doppler combined with flow imaging technique can conveniently,nonin- vasively and accurately detect the blood flow in large intracranial vessels. It has practical signifi- cance in the diagnosis and treatment of cerebrovascular diseases. This article reviews the appli- cation of transcranial color-coded sonography(TCCS)in cerebrovascular diseases.

Objective To study the mechanisms of Curcumin-induced apoptosis on human gastric cancer cell line SGC-7901.Methods SC,C-7901 cells were treated with various concentrations of Curcumin and the growth inhibition rates of it were accessed by MTT method.Apoptosis of gastric cancer cells were in- spected by flow cytometry. The expression of Fas and survivin in gastric cancer cells were evaluated by west- ern blot. Results Curcumin could effectively inhibit the growth of gastric cancer cells in dose-dependent and time-dependent manners, the sub-peak appeared and the apoptotic rate was increased. The expressions of Fas was higher in Western blot, meanwhile, the expressions of survivin was decreased. Conclusion Curcumin could significantly inhibit the growth and induce apoptosis of gastric cancer cells(SGC-7901),Curcumin could probably through up-regulating Fas and down-regulating surviving to induce apoptosis.

Objective To explore the efficacy and security of helical tomotherapy (radical radiotherapy) combined with targeted therapy for stage Ⅳ non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Methods The data of 19 patients with stage Ⅳ NSCLC were retrospectively analyzed. The efficacy and security were observed by SPSS 20.0 statistical software. Results Among 19 patients, there were 6 cases complete remission (CR), 8 cases partial remission (PR), 4 cases stable disease (SD), 2 cases progressive disease (PD).The response (CR+PR) rate was 73.7 % (14/19).The 1-and 2-year local control rates were 73.7 %, 47.4 %,respectively. The 1-year progression-free survival rate was 31.6 %.The median survival time was 13 months, and the 1-and 2-year overall survival rates were 52.6 %, 26.3 %, respectively. The median survival time of females, non-smokers or targeted therapy synchronous radiotherapy was longer than that of male, smokers or targeted therapy sequential radiotherapy, respectively (21 months vs 8 months, P =0.014;21 months vs 6 months, P =0.007;18 months vs 6 months, P =0.026).There were no significant differences of age, number of metastatical organs or targeted drug categories between two groups (P > 0.05).All patients could tolerate the adverse reactions without treatment-related death. Conclusion The effect of helical tomotherapy combined with targeted therapy for stage Ⅳ NSCLC is desirable.

Chinese Journal of Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Diseases 2005;23(1):35-37
OBJECTIVETo see the change of capillary of heart in Athlete's Heart, so that to discover the mechanism of pathologic change.
METHOD18 male SD rats were separated randomly into control group (without any exercise), aerobic exercise group (swimming for 75 min every day), and overload group (swimming for 180 min with 5% weight of its body every day). After 5 days per week, 12 weeks, exercise training stopped and heart of rats were observed under Transmission Electron Microscope.
RESULTSIn aerobic exercise group, the capillary cavities in heart expand, the walls of capillary become thick; the number of mitochondrion increases; endothelium cells become active in growth. However, after overload exercise, the walls of capillary cockle and protuberances appear. The mitochondrion swell and the cristae become disorder. Most of endosomes expand and their number increases. The karyons become abnormity in shape and uniformity in electronic density, besides the nuclear envelope cockle. The basilar membranes become thick and unclear.
CONCLUSIONAfter exercise training, both physical and pathologic changes in heart capillary are found. In suitable exercises group, the capillaries change physically; the pathologic changes are becoming visible after overload exercise however.

Chinese Journal of Applied Physiology 2003;19(1):35-38
AIMTo study the role of NO in the midbrain periaqueductal gray (PAG) in the development of stress-induced hypertension (SIH).
METHODSThe model of stress-induced hypertension (SIH) rat was established by electric-foot in company with noise, NADPH-d histochemistry technique was used to investigate the change of nitric oxide synthase (NOS) positive neurons. Selecting and using microinjection and radioimmunoassay, we studied the effects of blood pressure and the content of Ach in rostral ventrolateral medulla (RVLM) after microinjection of L-NNA into PAG.
RESULTS(1) The blood pressure increased, the cell number decreased and the grey degree value increased for the NOS positive neurons of PAG dorsolateral subdivision in SIH rats, and the content of Ach increased in RVLM. (2) Following microinjection of 100 mmol/L 0.1 microl L-NNA into PAG, the mean arterial pressure (MAP) and the content of Ach in RVLM increased in control rats, whereas the change of MAP was significantly smaller in SIH rats than control.
CONCLUSIONThe plastic change of NOS positive neurons of PAG in SIH rats may be involved in the development of SIH, which may be mediated by Ach in RVLM.

OBJECTIVETo explore the effect of Zengjing Capsule No. 1 (ZJC1) on morphology and motility of sperm in patients with oligospermia (OSM).
METHODSSeventy-two OSM patients were assigned to 2 groups by a randomizing digital table, the treated group and the control group, they were treated respectively by ZJC1 and Wuzi Yanzong Pill (WYP). The changes of density, motility and morphology of sperm in patients before and after 3-month treatment were examined using computerized WLJY-9000 colour semen analysis system with refined Papanicolaou's stain.
RESULTSThe density, motility and morphology of sperm were improved and sperm deformity rate was significantly decreased after treatment in both groups (P < 0.01), but the effects in the treated group were better than those in the control group (P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONZJC1 can enhance the density and motility of sperm and reduce the sperm deformity rate in patients with OSM.

Undifferentiated and differentiated 3T3-L1 adipocytes were treated with 100 ng/ml tumor necrosis factor-?(TNF-?),and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-?2 (PPAR-?2) mRNA expression and adiponectin secretion in cultured cells were measured. The results showed that TNF-?suppressed PPAR-?2 mRNA expression and adiponeetin secretion in 3T3-L1 adipocytes (P
