Mercurial sphygmomanometer is widely applied to NIBP as the basic medical equipment in hospitals, but it is dangerous. With the world-wide limit of mercurial sphygmomanometers, it is inevitable that the mercurial sphygmomanometers would be eliminated. At the same time, according to the requirement of the medical staff and for the technical side of medical engineering, we should set up a claim for the mercurial sphygmomanometers' substitute products.

Through-lifetime dynamic management, a new management model of medical equipment, is introduced in this paper. Relating to the situation of our hospital, we make a preliminary conference about theory and practice of the model from the aspects of the basement of software and hardware, primary way of practicing, and actual results.

The stability of melittin in different solvents (water, deoxygenated water, physiological saline, PBS, 50% ethanol, ethanol, glycerol)was studied and the results showed that the stability of melittin is not influenced by light, temperature and pH in 50% ethanol, which melittin can be completed dissolved when compared with ethanol and glycerol, in such, 50% ethanol was chosen as solvent storage when measured content of melittin. Then the effect of different concentrations of PBS, the pH of PBS and rat skin ho- mogenates were tested, and the results showed that melittin was degraded rapidly at low concentration solution and low ionic strength. Increasing pH of PBS and rat skin homogenate can accelerate the degradation of melittin. These researches provide an experimental ba- sis for further study of melittin.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the relationship between infection of Chlamydia Trachomatis(Ct) and apoptosis of spermatogenic cells.

METHODSApoptotic spermatogenic cells were examined by Wright-Giemsa staining and the terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated deoxyuridine triphosphate(dUTP)-biotin nick-end labeling(TUNEL) technique.

RESULTSApoptosis rate of Ct infective group was significantly higher than that of normal group(P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONSCt infection may cause the apoptosis of spermatogenic cells, which affords an objective evidence for illustrating the mechanism of Ct-infection-induced male infertility.

OBJECTIVETo introduce a method of functional reconstruction for total lower lip defects.

METHODSSix patients with lower lip cancer were treated by surgery from November 2007 to February 2009. The full thickness defects with a size from eighty percent to total lower lip were reconstructed with two triangular mental neurovascular island flaps of chin. The musculocutaneous and mucous flaps with neurovascular pedicles were advanced in a V-Y manner to close the defect and reconstruct the orbicularis oris muscle.

RESULTSAll flaps survived and no recurrence and complication were observed and showed excellent cosmetic and functional results over 6 months of follow-up. The reconstructed lower lips provided a wide-enough mouth opening, and the sensation of oral mucosa and the muscle function of oral sphincter were preserved.

CONCLUSIONSThe technique of mental neurovascular V-Y advancement island flap can get satisfactory results in both functional and the aesthetic perspects.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the accuracy of Hadeco ES-1000spm hand-held doppler during the anterolateral thigh (ALT) flap harvest.

METHODSTwenty-five patients (26 sides) with ALT flaps for head and neck reconstruction between May 2005 and May 2010 received preoperative Doppler examination for the location of the cutaneous perforators of ALT flaps. The Doppler signals and body mass index (BMI) were recorded preoperatively according to ABC system. The locations of Doppler signals and of the actual cutaneous perforators at surgery were plotted and compared. The diameter of perforators was measured.

RESULTSOne to three cutaneous perforators of the ALT flap were consistently found at specific locations. They were named perforators A, B, C from proximal to distal. Perforators A, B and C were present in 15 (58%), 24 (92%) and 20 (77%) cases and the diameter (> 0.5 mm) of A, B and C were 11/15, 22 (92%) and 8 (40%) respectively. The Doppler signal was within 0.5 cm of the actual perforator location in 85% flaps. The accuracy of Doppler decreased with increase of BMI.

CONCLUSIONSPreoperative assessment by hand-held Doppler is useful in predicting the perforator vessels' locations and diameter although it's accuracy is limited.

Objective To explore the efficacy and complications of small insicion surgical treatment and the routine microscopic surgical treatment for children with tight filum terminale type of tethered cord syndrome.Methods According to the clinical manifestations and imaging findings,a total of 43 children with tethered cord syndrome were classified into two groups.Namely the control group (30 cases) who underwent the routine microscopic surgery and the observation group (13 cases) who underwent the small insicion surgical treatment.The difference including prognosis,complications,hospital stays,size of the wound between the two groups were analyzed.Results The 43 children were followed up for 3 to 24 months with an average of 9 months.The results indicated that the postoperative effective rate of the control group was 93.3％,while it was 100％ in the observation group.The difference between the two groups was not statistically significant(P ＞ 0.05).The rate of complications of the control group was 6.67％ whlie it was 0.00％ in the observation group,and the difference of the two groups was statistically significant(P ＜ 0.05).The difference of hospital stays and the size of the wound between the two groups were statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion The small insicion surgical treatment could guarantee the surgical effect for children with tight filum terminale type of tethered cord syndrome,and it can reduce the surgical trauma,post operation hospitalization duration,incidence of complications and intraoperative scar tissues.

OBJECTIVETo analyze the correlation of Chinese medicine syndrome evolvement and cardiovascular: events in patients with stable coronary heart disease (CHD).

METHODSThis prospective cohort study investigated and: collected the clinical information of patients with stable CHD and observed the syndrome type at the baseline and 6-month at follow-up, as well as the cardiovascular events during the 6-month and 12-month follow-up. The patients were divided into the event group and the non-event group. The interaction and the impact of syndrome evolvement on cardiovascular events were examined through multifactor dimensionality reduction (MDR) analysis and the results were verified by Chi-square test.

RESULTSTotally 1,333 of 1,503 stable CHD patients enrolled met the inclusion criteria: of MDR analysis. Among them, 959 (71.9%) cases were males and 374 (28.1%) cases were females. Thirty seven cases had cardiovascular events during 6 to 12 months after the study began. The results of the MDR analysis and verification using Chi-square test showed that the development of cardiovascular events was positively correlated with interaction between blood stasis and toxic syndrome at the baseline, blood stasis at the baseline and qi deficiency at the 6-month follow-up, toxic syndrome at the baseline and qi deficiency at the 6-month follow-up, toxic syndrome at the base line and blood stasis at the 6-month follow-up, qi deficiency and blood stasis at the 6-month follow-up (P<0.05 for all).

CONCLUSIONSBlood stasis, toxic syndrome and qi deficiency are important factors of stable CHD. There: are positive correlation between cardiovascular events and syndrome evolution from blood stasis to qi deficiency, from toxic syndrome to qi deficiency and from toxic syndrome to blood stasis, indicating the pathogenesis of toxin consuming qi, toxin leading to blood-stasis in stable CHD patients prone to recurrent cardiovascular events.

OBJECTIVE: To examine the prognostic value of serum levels of asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) in patients with stable coronary heart disease (CHD) thus explore a potential biomarker of "toxin syndrome" in CHD. METHODS: In this prospective nested case-control study, 36 of 1,503 Chinese patients with stable CHD experienced at least 1 recurrent cardiovascular event (RCE) during 1-year follow-up. Serum levels of ADMA at the start of follow-up were compared between these 36 cases and 36 controls which matched to cases in terms of gender, age, history of hypertension, and myocardial infarction. RESULTS: Based on the crude model, subjects in the 2 highest ADMA quartiles showed significantly higher risk of developing RCE than those in the lowest ADMA quartile [odds ratio (OR) 4.09, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.01 to 16.58; OR 6.76, 95% CI 1.57 to 29.07]. This association was also observed in the case-mix model (OR 5.51, 95% CI 1.23 to 24.61; OR 7.83, 95% CI 1.68 to 36.41) and multivariable model (OR 6.64, 95% CI 1.40 to 31.49: OR 13.14, 95% CI 2.28 to 75.71) after adjusting for confounders. The multivariable model which combined ADMA and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) showed better predictive power with areas under the receiver operator characteristic curves (0.779) than the model of either ADMA (0.694) or hsCRP (0.636). CONCLUSION Serum ADMA level may be a potential biomarker of "toxin syndrome" in CHD which shows favorable prognostic value in predicting 1-year RCE in patients with stable CHD. The PRR11 gene (Proline Rich 11) has been implicated in lung cancer; however, relationship between PRR11 and immune infiltration is not clearly understood. In this study, we used The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) data to analyze the lung adenocarcinoma patients; PRR11 gene expression, clinicopathological findings, enrichment, and immune infiltration were also studied. PRR11 immune response expression assays in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) were performed using TIMER, and statistical analysis and visualization were conducted using R software. All data were verified using Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis (GEPIA), and the Human Protein Atlas (HPA). We found that PRR11 was an important prognostic factor in patients with LUAD. PRR11 expression was correlated with tumor stage and progression. Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA) showed that PRR11 was enriched in the cell cycle regulatory pathways. Immune infiltration analysis revealed that the number of T helper 2 (Th2) cells increased when PRR11 was overexpressed. These results confirm the role of PRR11 as a prognostic marker of lung adenocarcinoma by controlling the cell cycle and influencing the immune system to facilitate lung cancer progression.
