AIM: To establish a RP HPLC method to determine the content of alliin in Allium sativum Linn. METHODS: Chromatographic separation was performed on ODS column with a mobile phase composed of methanol water (3∶7 by volume). The eluate was monitored at 214nm wavelength. RESULTS: The average recovery of sample for alliin was 98.7%, The RSD of within day was 1.1%. The RSD of between day was 1.9%. CONCLUSION: The method is simple, rapid with good suitability.

Objective To investigate the effect of emergency case video segmentally introduction combining with simulation in cultivation of undergraduate nursing students′skills of trauma management. Methods A group of 55 undergraduate nursing students, recruited in the control group from September 2013 to April 2014, were instructed by traditional teaching method, the trauma management skill was delivered by lecture, video and group based practice. Another 50 undergraduate nursing students, recruited in the observation group from September 2014 to April 2015, were located in the simulation group, while the key point of trauma management was segmentally introduced by emergency case video, the skill of trauma management was delivered by lecture and video, a multiple injury case scenario was used for group practice. The score of the practice test and the evaluation of the teaching were compared among the two groups. Results The students in observation group demonstrated more skilled trauma management compared with that in the control group (90.42±8.50 vs. 84.68±8.77, t=3.56, P<0.05). The students in observation group presented significantly higher satisfaction with the teaching, improving study interesting 93.33%(56/60), promoting the theory knowledge deepen 91.67%(55/60), improving the ability of thinking and observation 95.00% (57/60/) , improving the ability of analyzing and solving problems 100.00% (60/60), enhancing the ability of independent learning 96.67%(58/60), while in the control group, they were 76.36%(42/55), 69.09%(38/55), 65.45%(36/55), 69.09%(38/55) and 80.00%(44/55), the differences between the two groups were significant (χ2 =2.30-4.40, P < 0.05). Conclusions Application of emergency case video segmentally introduction combining with simulation provided more opportunity to the undergraduate nursing students to apply relevant knowledge in analyzing and dealing with trauma cases, which contributes to the improvement of undergraduate nursing students′ skills of trauma management.

Objective To observe the effectiveness of comprehensive rehabilitation on the recovery of motor function of patients with severe cerebral injury in recovery phase. Methods 72 cases with severe cerebral injury in recovery phase were randomly divided into rehabilitation group (n=38) and control group (n=34). Patients in control group were treated with routine method, and those in rehabilitation group with comprehensive rehabilitation treatment in addition. Results Motor function, activities of daily living (ADL) and complication of patients were evaluated at the first day and two months later after be in hospital. The effect of comprehensive rehabilitation treatment were better than that of control group(P<0.05,P<0.01). Conclusion Comprehensive rehabilitation is important to the patients with severe cerebral injury of recovering, not only in recovery of motor function but also in reducing the complication.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate therapeutic effects of Rigidfix cross pins combined with Intrafix pins for the reconstruction of anterior or posterior cruciate ligament under arthroscopy.
METHODSFrom January 2009 to June 2010,34 patients with anterior or posterior cruciate ligament injuries were divided into two groups : group A and group B. There were 24 patients in group A, including 19 males and 5 females, with an average age of (31.83±9.57) years old. The patients in group A were treated with anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction under arthroscopy; Rigidfix cross pins and Intrafix pins were used to fix femoral and tibial side respectively. Among the 10 patients in group B, 8 patients were male and 2 patients were female, with an average age of (27.20+7.59) years old. The patients in group B were treated with posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction under arthroscope; Intrafix pins and Rigidifix cross pins were used to fix femoral and tibial side sepectively. The drawer test and Lachaman test were used to evaluate postoperative knee stability. All the patients were followed up at least 18 months. Lysholm and Tegner knee scores were used to evaluate the clinical therapeutic effects.
RESULTSAll the 34 patients were followed up, and the duration ranged from 18 to 26 months, with an average of (20.79±2.39) months. All the patients obtained good pain relief and knee stability. In group A,Lysholm scores significantly increased from 43.04±7.57 preoperatively to 85.41±4.68, 92.50±3.05, and 93.45±2.57 at 6,12, and 18 months postoperatively; Tegner scores significantly increased from 2.62±0.92 preoperatively to 7.45±1.14, 8.58±0.77, and 8.95±0.55 at 6, 12, and 18 months postoperatively. In group B,Lysholm scores significantly increased from 46.20±8.27 preoperatively to 86.40±5.14,90.40±2.67,and 92.00±3.85 at 6,12,and 18 months postoperatively ;Tegner scores significantly increased from 2.00±0.66 preoperatively to 7.10±0.99, 8.60±0.84, and 8.80±0.42 at 6,12, and 18 months postoperatively. There were no differences in Lysholm and Tegner scores between group A and B at different times during follow-up. Lysholm scores of all patients significantly increased from 43.97±7.79 preoperatively to 85.70±4.76,91.88±3.06,and 93.02±3.01 at 6,12,and 18 months postoperatively. Tegner scores of all patients significantly increased from 2.44±0.89 preoperatively to 7.35±1.09, 8.58±0.78, and 8.91±0.51 at 6,12,and 18 months postoperatively. During the follow-up period, there were no serious immunological rejection and complications.
CONCLUSIONReconstruction of anterior or posterior cruciate ligament under arthroscopy with Rigidfix cross pins and Intrafix pins fixation is feasible therapy for anterior or posterior cruciate ligament injuries, and the fixation is rigid. The therapy restores knee stability and provides a satisfactory short-term results.

National Journal of Andrology 2008;14(8):743-748
With the approaching of the aged society, the number of patients with BPH and those with prostate cancer is increasing, particularly the latter. As the gold standard for the treatment of the two diseases, prostate surgery falls into various types, each with its own characteristics in postoperative recovery of sexual function. In the past few years, the traditional laparotomy procedure has been gradually replaced by the laparoscopic technique. Doctors and patients are not merely satisfied with the improvement of micturition function any longer; they are beginning to pay more attention to the pre- and post-operative sexual function. This paper gives an overview of the influence of various types of prostatectomy on male sexual function.
