Osteosarcoma probably arises from a primitive, undifferentiated mesenchyme, It is highly malignant bone tumor characterized by the invariable formation of neoplastic osteoid and tumor tissue with poor prognosis. Osteosarcoma may involve any bone, but usually arises in the metaphyseal portion of long bones, most frequently at the distal ent of the femur, the proximal end of the tibia, and the proximal end of the humerus. The authors have experienced one case (52 year old male) of osteosarcoma originating from the right patella.

Eczema herpeticum occurred in a patient with pemphigus foliaceus and esophageal cancer. The patient's initial skin lesions composed of large flaccid bullaes showed subcorneal bullae with typical acantholytic cells. Subsequent grouped small vesicles appeared widely on the erythematous base were diagnosed herpes simplex virus infection by Tzanck smear and histopathological findings. The patient died one week after the development of the widespread herpes virus infection.

One case of Behcet's disease with multiple aneurysms in both common carotid arteries and abdominal aorta is presented with brief review of the literatures. A 26-year-old woman had slowly enlarging pulsatile masses in both sides of neck and recurrent ulcerations in oral cavity and genitalia. One day prior to admission, aphasia, right facial nerve palsy and right hemiplegia suddently developed. Brain CT showed acute infarction in left basal ganglia. Both Carotid Angiography and abdominal Aortography demonstrated mulitple aneurysms in both common carotid arteries and abdominal aorta with organizion thrombi and thromboembolism of internal carotid artery.

Osteochondroma is the most common benign tumor of bone, of which the typical form is a cartilagecapped bony projection, far often found at the metaphysis of the long tubular bones, and may arise from any bone performed in cartilage. To our knowledge, however, osteochondroma of lumbar spine has been reported 11 cases, but We experienced a case of osteochondroma located in the position normally occupied by right side lamina of 5th lumbar vertebra. The mass was excised and disclosed typical microscopic findings of osteochondroma.

The authors performed a retrospective matched-pair study for 54 uncemented total hip arthroplasties which were performed in management of avascular necrosis of femoral head from July, 1989 to May, 1991 to investigate what kind of stem is better between Anatomic stem as a proximal filling stem and Harris-Galante stem as a distal filling stem. The results were as followings: 1. Clinical results of Anatomic group were slightly better than those of Harris-Galante group in terms of incidence of thigh pain, groin or buttock pain and final functional score of hip. 2. Incidence of radiolucency around femoral stem in Harris-Galante group was higher than that in Anatomic group, especially in zone I, V of anteroposterior view and in zone IV of lateral view, which were statistically significant(p < 0.05). 3. The incidence of vertical subsidence of femoral stem in Harris-Galante group was significantly higher than that in Anatomic group(p < 0.05) and the average distance of subsidence was 3.2mm. 4. The incidence of endosteal osteolysis and bone resorption in Harris-Galante group was higher than that in Anatomic group. 5. In overall view, clinical and radiographic results of Anatomic group were better than those of Harris-Galante group.
