riie snbjects werc 269 patients with uncomplicated gonococcal urethritis, who visited the Veiereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Fieoul from August to Decernber 1984. ()ni hundred and four of 108 patients treated with 1.anamycin, 2 gm, IM plus anipi illin,3.5 gm, p0 plus probenecid, 1 gm, PO regirrien recovered with 65(62. 5 post-gonococcal urethritis(PGlJ) and 4(3.7%) failed, One hundred and seven of III patients treated with kanamycin, 2 gm, IM plus talarnpicillin, 2 gm, PO plus probenecid, 1 gm, po regimen recovered with 71 (66. 4% ) post-goriococcal urethritis and 4(3. 6%) failed. It is suggeste,d that both these antibiotic comlbination regimens have similarly good effect in the treatment. of gonococcal urethritis.

5.Spontaneous Rupture of Quadriceps Tendon: Report of four knees.
Jung Man KIM ; Cheong Ho CHANG ; Young Hoon KIM
The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1998;33(1):191-195
Spontaneous rupture of the quadriceps tendon has heen rarely reported. We experienced four knees of 3 patients. Two patients with chronic renal failure(CRF) had been treated with peritoneal dialysis and the other patient was healthy without significant medical problem. In the CRF patients, laboratory studies were coincided with secondary hyperparathyoidism. Radiologic and operative findings suggested that the repeated minor trauma caused avulsion fracture of the bone near the insertion site of the tendon. Histologic findings revealed no elastosis of the tendon and no deposit of amyloid in the quadriceps tendon. In the non-CRF case, there was normal lahoratory data, and the rupture occurred at the musculotendinous junction, suggesting sudden contracture of the muscle causing failure without trauma history. All cases were treated successfully with open repair of the quadriceps tendon. It could be summarized that the site of spontaneous rupture in the CRF and normal patient were different.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1987;25(2):260-263
A case of benign lichenoid keratosis(BLK) developed in a 25-year-old female is presented. She had two erythematous plaques with slightly verrucous surfaces on the lips for 4 weeks. A biopsy specirnen taken from the periphery of the lesion revealed a focal parakeratosis, the absence of granular cells, and hydropic degeneration of the basal cells in the epidermis. The upper dermal infiltrate composed chiefly of lymphacytes intermingled with a few histiocytes was also seen. The direct immunofluorescent study showed depositions of a few cytoid bodies and fibrin around the areas of the dermoepidermal junction. These plaques on her lips, demonstrating lichenoid tissue changes, cleared in 8 weeks from the evalution, without any treatment.

The Journal of the Korean Bone and Joint Tumor Society 2010;16(1):37-41
A hemangioma occurred in the bony epiphysis is extremly rare. A 5-year-old boy visited to our hospital with pain and flexion contracture on the right knee. MRI showed some lesions scattered in the epiphysis of the distal femur and the proximal tibia. Biopsy specimen from the distal femoral epiphysis revealed pathologic findings compatible with hemangioma. On 8 years follow-up, the lesion in the distal femoral epiphysis had been cured, and those in the proximal tibial epiphysis were spontaneously disappeared without surgery. The scanogram shows no leg length discrepancy and angular deformity. We reports a rare case of hemangioma occurred in the bony epiphysis with the results of 8 year follow-up with the review of literatures.

10.Pemphigus Vulgaris Developed During Pregnancy.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1981;19(1):99-103
We present a case of pemphigus vulgaris developed during pregnancy. The clinical features of this patient were similar to those of hetpes gestationis. By immunofluorescence studies we found that the patient's serum contained autoantibodies to intercellular substance of epidermis. Direct immunofluorescence microscopy of a perilesional skin also demontrated immunoglobulin deposition in the intercellular areas. Additionally we did in vitro C3 staining for further confirmation of the diagnosis but it was negative in basement membrane zone. This patient was initially treated with corticosteroid and azathioprine. Several months later gold compound was given instead of azathioprine and corticosteroid with good therapeutic response.
