1.Relation of psychosocial stress, eye strain, and critical flicker fusion of VDT workers.
Korean Journal of Aerospace and Environmental Medicine 2001;11(1):32-35
To clarify that the psychosocial factors affect the eye strain of the VDT workers, self-reporting questionnaire about eye strain, critical flicker fusion(CFF), and 12-item version of General Health Questionnaire(GHQ) were carried out to 13 female VDT workers who have done the electronic editing and 10 female controls who were nurses in one hospital. The sum of eye symptoms of VDT workers were significantly higher than controls, but CFF of both groups were not different. And the sum of eye symptoms and CFF were not correlated. High stress group(sum of GHQ > 3) shows significantly more eye symptoms than low stress group. This result suggest that the psychosocial factors could affect the eye strain of VDT workers.

Korean Journal of Preventive Medicine 1996;29(2):255-264
To study reliability and validity of PWl, this newly developed self-administered questionnaire which measures stress, was given to medial students. All respondent(133) were followed 4 weeks later and 92 were retested. Cronbach's a coefficient of data was 0.93. Test-retest reliability measured by pearson's correlation coefficient was 0.72(p<0.01l). Exploratory factor analysis(EFA) performed by principal axis factor method without iteration and by varimax rotation explored 13 principal components(eigenvalues > l). After exploring 4 factor structure according to previous study results, factor 1 showed good agreement but other factors did not. Confirmatory factor analysis(CFA) showed poor fit of 4 factor model to data. In the further study, it may be considered to model that has unidimensional factor structure.

3.Noise Induced Hearing Loss of 3 military workers that satisfied guidelines of occupational disease in Korean Occupational Safety & Health Act.
Korean Journal of Aerospace and Environmental Medicine 2000;10(4):347-350
Noise induced hearing loss (NIHL) is the most common occupational disease in Korea. However, there have not been reported NIHL in military workers that satisfied the decision guidelines of Korean Occupational Safety & Health Act. It is well known that aircraft maintenance workers expose to intensive noise. We found 3 military aircraft maintenance workers with NIHL that satisfied the decision guidelines of occupational disease in Korean Occupational Safety & Health Act. They were all in the base maintenance department and have work durations over 20 years. We hope these cases were sentinel events that activate the military occupational health management system.

4.Arachnoid Cyst of the Velum Interpositum: Coincidence with Multiple Cranial Neuropathies: Case Report .

Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society 2002;32(2):159-161
Arachnoid cyst of the velum interpositum is unusual and causes symptoms similar to those seen with a third ventricular mass. This report describes a case in which the arachnoid cyst occupied the cistern of the velum interpositum and was coincident with multiple cranial neuropathies. The patient was treated by endoscopic fenestration of the cyst. The surgery resulted in decreased in the size of the cyst but aggravation of cranial neuropathies. The patient underwent methylprednisolone pulse therapy and intravenous immunoglobulin administration under the impression of the multiple cranial neuropathies and recovered completely 3 months later. The authors conclude that combined neurological disease that needs medical treatment should be differentiated and priority of the treatment should be determined carefully if arachnoid cyst is associated with unrelated or ambiguous neurological symptoms and signs. Careful considerations of cause and effect may avoid an unnecessary surgical manipulation

Ectopic pregnancy refers to gestation in which the fertilized ovum implants on any other tissure than tbe mucus membrane lining the uterine cavity. Cornual (intertitial) pegnancy is a relatively uncommon but potentially catastrophic form of ectopic pregnancy, defined as implantation in the intramural portion of a fallopian tube. A hydatidiform mole usually occupies the uterine cavity but it's occurrence in the uterine tube is extremely rare. Only a few cases of primary hydatidifm mole of the tube have been reported. We experienced a case of ectopic hydatidiform mole in the uterine cornua and so present it with brief review of literatures.

Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases 2000;49(1):117-121
The mucormycosis is a group of serious opportunistic infections caused by fungi of the class Zygomycetes and order Mucorales. Pulmonary mucormycosis is a relatively rare disease but typically manifested by a rapidly progressive, often fatal pneumonia in patients with diabetes mellitus, hematologic malignant neoplasms, or organ transplants. The radiologic manifestations of pulmonary mucormycosis are nonspecific and include progressive lobar or multilobar consolidations, pulmonary masses and pulmonary nodules. Recently, we experienced a pulmonary mucormycosis in 32-year-old man with uncontrolled diabetes. He complained of cough, left pleuritic chest pain and generalized weakness. Initial chest X-ray finding was the consolidation on the lower lobe of the left lung. On the sixth hospital day, bronchoscopic examination with lung biopsy revealed broad, non-septate hyphae with right-angle branching, diagnostic of mucormycosis, and consequently amphotericin B therapy was started. We performed a lobectomy of the left lower lobe of the lung on 29th hospital day.

Korean Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology 2000;43(7):1243-1245
Although a lot of articles examining concomitant intrauterine and ectopic pregnancy have been presented, we have not found any reports on ectopic implantation of chorionic villi in the vagina with normal intrauterine pregnancy. We experienced a case of chorionic villi on the vaginal wall as a hemorrhagic mass during the second trimester of pregnancy. A pregnant woman (gestational age of 16 weeks and 1 day) visited our hospital due to vaginal bleeding. There was no abnormal finding except vaginal hemorrhagic mass, and the mass revealed a product of conception.

10.Design and Evaluation of a Prototype Algorithm for 12 Channel Computer ECG Analysis.
Journal of Korean Society of Medical Informatics 1999;5(3):127-137
The outline of the Prototype Algorithm, software package for computerized electrocardiography, is described. The developed module-based ECG analysis program consists of system interface, beat detection, feature extraction, rhythm analysis and diagnostic module. The overall evaluation of the proposed algorithm was done using the CSE library. The CSE diagnostic library and evaluation methods, which developed for evaluation of ECG analysis program are introduced. The prototype' s beat marker position is satisfied with recommended range of CSE median results. The performance of proposed algorithm compared with clinical truth and commercial programs. Now is the time to start to modify and revise the program in order to achieve the reliable performance, responding to the complaints of clinicians and making use of the EGG database, which is developing continuously.
