Journal of Practical Stomatology 2017;33(3):316-321
Objective:To investigate the changes of occlusal plane in the process of retracting maxillary anterior teeth with different vertical traction force. Methods:The three dimensional finite element model of maxillary anterior teeth en-masse retraction by micro-implant was constructed with cone beam CT scanning and MIMICS and ANSYS software. Then the movement tendency of tooth and the changes of the maxillary occlusal plane was calculated when the vertical traction force was 0,0.5,0.75 and 1 N in the process of en-mass retraction, respectively. Results:Lingual tipping of anterior teeth, distal tipping of the first molar and the maxillary occlusal plane clockwise rotation by the retraction forces were observed. With the vertical traction force increasing, lingual tipping of anterior teeth and distal tipping of the first molar were decreased, and the occlusal plane clockwise rotation was prevented. Conclusion:The upper dentition movement and occlusal plane rotation can be changed effectively by the vertical traction with different force. When retract anterior teeth,0.5-0.75 N vertical traction force is beneficial to prevent clockwise rotation of the maxillary occlusal plane.

BACKGROUND:Subcutaneous effusion often occurs after digital shaping titanium mesh cranioplasty, and affects therapeutic effects.
OBJECTIVE:To explore the causes and corresponding prevention measures of subcutaneous effusion after digital shaping titanium mesh cranioplasty.
METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data and treatment methods of 19 cases of subcutaneous effusion after digital shaping titanium mesh cranioplasty, summarized the postoperative complications and explored the effective methods for prevention and treatment of subcutaneous effusion.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: After active treatment, five cases of dural breakage, four cases of foreign body stimulation, three cases of getting out of bed early, three cases of early extubation, three cases of long-time operation repair, and one case of excessive use of electric knife were al cured. Dural breakage and foreign body stimulation is considered as the main causes of postoperative effusion. Patients with subcutaneous effusion were given releasing elastic bandage, aspiration, and strict bed rest. After these active treatments, patients were al cured. Subcutaneous effusion may result from single or mixed factors. The above-mentioned causes are only a part. Non-central suspension, incomplete hemostasis, and preoperative excessive colapse of the bone window are al reported to be the reasons for the occurrence of subcutaneous effusion.

Objective To observe the influence of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) transplantation on the expression of alpha-amino hydroxymethyl-oxazole propionic acid (AMPA) receptors GluR1 and GluR2 in rats with spinal cord injury (SCI) so as to investigate the potential anti- chronic stress mechanism of BMSCs transplantation in treatment of rats with spinal cord injury. Methods A total of 48 adult male SD rats were equally divided into three groups:control group, treatment group and model group. The rats in the model and treatment group underwent lower thoracic SCI with the modified Allen' s method, and the rats in control group received only laminectomy. At day 7 after thoracic SCI,100 μl of Hank's buffered saline solution containing 1.0 × 106 BMSCs was injected into the subarachnoid space from L4-L5 intervertebral space in the treatment group and control group, and the same amount of Hank' s buffered saline solution was injected in the model group. The motor function of the rat posterior limbs was assessed by Basso-Beattie-Bresnahan (BBB) scale before and after operation.Half of the rats were anesthetized at days 14 and 28 postoperatively to harvest brains which were frozen and cut in a cryostat to detect the expressions of GluR1 and GluR2 proteins by immunohistochemistry. Results After BMSCs transplantation, the motor function of the posterior limbs in the treatment group was improved progressively. At day 14 after transplantation, the number of GluR1-positive cells of the model and treatment group was higher than that of the control group in the hippocampus CA1 region (P <0.05,P <0.01 respectively) ; GluR2-positive cells had the similar tendency, without significant difference(P > 0.05 ).At the 28th day after transplantation,GluR1 positive cells of the model group were higher than those of the control group in CA1,CA3,DG regions and those of the treatment group in CA1,CA3 regions (P <0.05,P <0.01,respectively) ; GluR1 positive cells of the model and treatment group were higher than their counterpart at day 14 after grafting procedure, with significant difference (P <0.05,P <0.01,respectively).GluR2 positive cells of the treatment group were higher than those of the control group in the basolateral amygdale (BLA) (P <0.05 ) and had similar tendency with GluR1 expression in other regions ( P > 0.05 ).Conclusion BMSCs transplantation implies a potential antichronic stress mechanism of SCI rats, since it can improve the motor function of posterior limbs in rats with lower thoracic SCI and regulate the expressions of AMPA receptor GluR1 and GluR2.

Objective To explore the effect of transcription factor E2F1 on the apoptosis of small cell cancer line H446. Methods Plamid vector- mediated E2F1 small hairpin RNA (shRNA) was used to silence E2F1 in H446 cell. RT-PCR and western-blot assay were used to detect the expressions of E2F1 and Bcl-2. The apoptosis rate in H446 cell line was detected by flow cytometry assay. Result E2F1 protein was suppressed in shRNA1-modified H446 cell. Sgnificant difference of the apoptosis was shown between E2F1 shRNA1 group and the other two groups. Additionaly, the expression of Bcl-2 protein increased in E2F1 shRNA1-modified cell line. Conclusions E2F1 is highly expressed in H446 small cell lung cancer cell line. E2F1 promotes apoptosis of H446 through upregulating Bcl-2 expression.
