Inflammation has a critical role in the pathogenesis and progression of cancer.lymphocyte and monocyte play an important role in inflammatory reaction,reflecting body immune status.In recent years,more and more clinical studies have shown that pretreatment of lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio(LMR)in the patients with malignant tumor may have a certain value in evaluating the prognosis of cancer patients such as nasopharyngeal cancer,esophageal cancer,breast cancer,ovarian cancer,lung cancer,gastric cancer,colorectal cancer,etc.This article reviews the latest research progress on the value of LMR in the evaluation of the prognosis of the patients with malignant tumor.

The data analysis of food supervision needs to reflect the integration of food safety and possible trend based on the fun-damental test data of stressed foods and their products. With the assessment and analysis on potential resources of hazard elements, the integrate management support of food safety could be achieved. The data management could be organized and evaluated through plan, collection, treatment and display, which might be assisted to establish data-link with process mining to enforce the prospect of food safety background and trend and to provide the support of food safety management.

Objective To investigate the efficiency of transduction of recombinant adenovirus-mediated human endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) into lung tissue by repeated intratracheal transfection in rats.Methods Sixty 3-4 month old male Wistar rats weighing 220-280 g were randomly divided into 2 groups:control group (group C,n =10) and eNOS gene transduction group (group T,n =50).The animals were anesthetized with intraperitoneal 10％ chloral hydrate 35 mg/kg,tracheally intubated and mechanically ventilated (VT 2.5 ml,RR 60 bpm,FiO2 1.0).Recombinant adenovirus carrying human eNOS gene was given as gift by Professor Gerard from Texas University,Southwest Medical Center.In group T 50 μl of the recombinant adenovirus in concentration of 5 × 109 PFU/ml was instilled into trachea every 5 minutes for 12 times,while in group C equal volume of vector conservation solution was instilled instead.Pulmonary arterial blood samples were obtained at 2,5,7,14 and 21 d after intratracheal transfection (n =10 at each time point) for determination of serum NO concentration.The animals were immediately sacrificed after blood sample collection for determination of expression of eNOS protein in the lung tissue and RNA.The eNOS expression in the trachea,bronchus,lung,liver,spleen and kidney was detected by immuno-histochemistry.Results The serum NO concentrations were significantly higher at all time points in group T than in group C.The eNOS expression was detected in the epithelial cells of trachea and bronchi,and endothelial cells of alveoli and pulmonary blood vessels in group T but not in group C.eNOS expression was not detected in liver,spleen and kidney at 7 d after intratracheal transfection in group T.Conclusion Human eNOS gene mediated by recombinant adenovirus was transducted into rat lung tissue with normal enzyme activity by repeated intratracheal administration without being detected in distant organs.

Objective:To establish an HPLC method to determine vanillin in 18 dairy products. Methods:The samples were sep-arated on a C18 column (250 mm × 4. 6 mm, 5 μm) with the mobile phase of methanol and water (35∶65) at the flow rate of 1. 0 ml ·min-1 . The detection wavelength was 275 nm. Results:The LOD ( limit of detection) of vanillin was 0. 45 μg·ml-1 . Excellent linearity was obtained within the concentration range of 1.990-99.500 μg·ml-1(r=1.000 0). The average recovery of vanillin in different dairy products with low, medium and high levels varied between 96. 26% and 100. 81% with RSD of 0. 15%-2. 22%. Con-clusion:The method is simple and reproducible, which can be applied in the rapid analysis of vanillin in dairy products.

Objective: To evaluate the testing level of the relevant items in food inspection agency laboratory objectively, analyze the existing problems and help them enhance the ability of detection.Methods: The blind sample assessment of sodium saccharin in drinks was organized and performed.The test samples at high and low concentrations were prepared and studied by the tests of homogeneity and stability.Those met the requirements of blind sample assessment were randomly distributed to 193 laboratories and the returned data were analyzed statistically.Results: Totally 182 valid data were collected.Among the reported results, those from 85 laboratories were satisfied in the low concentration group with the satisfaction rate of 87.6% , those from 12 laboratories were not satisfied, and no results were suspicious;as for the high concentration group, the above data was 67(78.8%), 12 and 6, respectively.The overall satisfaction rate was 83.5%.The results, especially the dissatisfied and suspicious data, were analyzed by the original records of each participating laboratory, the analysis focused on 8 aspects including detection method, instrument brand, control product variety, pretreatment method, recovery rate, column selection and the other influencing factors, and suggestions were given to every laboratory to improve its own situation.Conclusion: The statistical data reflect that our food testing laboratory has strong detection ability in the determination of saccharin sodium in beverages, and can provide powerful technical support for the regulatory authorities.

Heat shock protein 90(Hsp90)is a highly conserved protein which have been proved to play an important role in the development and progression of malignant transformation .As one of small molecule inhibi-tors that has been detected to have potent antitumor activity in a wide range of malignancies ,NVP-AUY922 is a pyrazole scaffold drug with many advantages such as low toxicity and stable structure .As a result of this,NVP-AUY922 is extensively considered as a new promising kind of anti -tumor drug .This review intends to update the reader on advances made over the past four years in the clinical development of NVP -AUY922 in advanced cancers.

Under the enforcement background of the newly issued Food Safety Law and combined with the work on registration and record of health food , the article put forward the problems and challenges of health food regulation according to the physiochemical quality standard for health food .The paper provided methods and suggestions for the establishment of physical and chemical indices for health food , and discussed how to improve the compositions of physical and chemical testing indicators for health food and improve the specificity of the standard , which can provide basis and guarantee for the post-marketing supervision of health food .

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of ultrasound-guided percutaneous transhepatic cholangial drainage (PTCD) combined with endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP) in treating malignant obstructive jaundice, and to discuss its technical points. Methods A total of ten cases with malignant biliary obstruction were enrolled in this study. After the failure of ERCP treatment, the patients had to be treated with ultrasound-guided PTCD immediately. The guide-wire was inserted into the duodenum through intrahepatic bile duct and common bile duct to connect with ERCP, which was followed by the biliary stent implantation or the removal of physical factors causing obstruction. The clinical results were analyzed. Results Technical success was obtained in all 10 cases. In the patients who underwent a successful guide-wire docking with ERCP the postoperative serum bilirubin was significantly decreased. The main complications were fever, elevation of amylase and transient bloody bile. Conclusion With the help of docking technique the combination use of ultrasound-guided PTCD and ERCP is a new tentative treatment for malignant obstructive jaundice after the failure of initial ERCP treatment. This technique carries promising value in clinical practice as it can significantly increase the success rate of ERCP.

Objective To evaluate the effect of dexmedetomidine on acute liver injury in rats with endotoxemia.Methods Eighteen adult male Sprague-Dawley rats, aged 3-4 months, weighing 250-300 g, were randomly divided into 3 groups (n=6 each) using a random number table: control group (group C), endotoxin group (group E), and dexmedetomidine group (group D).In E and D groups, lipopo-lysaccharide 5 mg/kg was injected via the femoral vein of rats anesthetized with chloral hydrate.In group D, dexmedetomidine was infused with a 7 μg/kg loading bolus over 15 min after injection of lipopolysaccharide, followed by a 6 h continuous infusion of 5 μg · kg-1 · h-1.The equal volume of normal saline was given instead in E and C groups.After the end of administration, blood samples from the femoral vein were drawn for determination of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin-1β (IL-1β) concentrations in serum (by using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay), and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) activities in serum (using the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine reference procedures).Liver specimens were obtained for examination of pathologic changes with electron microscope.Results Compared with group C, the serum ALT and AST activities and TNF-α and IL-lβ concentrations were significantly increased in E and D groups.Compared with group E, the serum ALT and AST activities and TNF-α and IL-1β concentrations were significantly decreased in group D.The pathologic changes of livers were obvious in group E, and were significantly reduced in group D compared with group E.Conclusion Dexmedetomidine can alleviate acute liver injury in rats with endotoxemia, and the underlying mechanism is associated with inhibition of systemic inflammatory responses.

Objective To investigate the effect of dexmedetomidine on acute kidney injury in endotoxemic rats.Methods Thirty adult male Sprague-Dawley rats,aged 4-6 months,weighing 180-220 g,were randomly divided into 3 groups (n =10 each) using a random number table:control group (group C),lipopolysaccharide group (group L),and dexmedetomidine (group D).Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) 5 mg/kg was injected slowly into the femoral vein to establish the model of endotoxemic in rats anesthetized with chloral hydrate.In group D,after LPS injection,a loading dose of dexmedetomidine 7 μg/kg was injected intravenously,and 15 min later dexmedetomidine was infused for 6 h at 5 μg · kg-1 · h-1,while the equal volume of normal saline was given in L and C groups.At 6 h after the end of LPS administration,blood samples were collected from the femoral vein for determination of serum creatinine (Cr),blood urea nitrogen (BUN),tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) concentrations.At 24 h after the end of LPS administration,the animals were sacrificed and kidneys were removed for microscopic examination and for determination of the expression of tight junction proteins ZO-1 and occludin in renal tissues by Western blot.Results Compared with group C,the serum Cr,BUN,TNF-α and IL-6 concentrations were significantly increased,and the expression of ZO-1 and occluding was down-regulated in L and D groups.Compared with group L,the serum Cr,BUN,TNF-α and IL-6 concentrations were significantly decreased,the expression of ZO-1 and occluding was up-regulated,and the pathological changes of kidneys were mitigated in D group.Conclusion Dexmedetomidine can alleviate acute kidney injury in endotoxemic rats.
