1.Efficacy comparison between needle-knife therapy and acupuncture-cupping for cervical spondylosis of cervical type.
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2014;34(5):499-502
OBJECTIVETo compare the efficacy differences between needle-knife therapy and acupuncture-cupping for treatment of cervical spondylosis (CS) of cervical type.
METHODSSixty cases of CS were randomly divided into a needle-knife group (30 cases) and an acupuncture-cupping group (30 cases). The needle-knife therapy was applied at points among superior nuchal line of occipital bone, bilateral neck muscle, neck centerline, trapezius and medial border scapula for only once. In the acupuncture-cupping group, acupuncture was applied at Fengchi (GB 20), Fengfu (GV 16), Tianzhu (BL 10), Dazhui (GV 14), Jianjing (GB 21), Jiaji (Ex-B2, from C4 to C6), Houxi (SI 3) and Ashi point, followed by cupping on local skin, once every other day for totally six times. The score of neck stiffness and visual analogue scale (VAS) were observed before and after treatment, in follow-up of 1, 3 and 6 months after treatment in the two groups, and the efficacy was compared.
RESULTSIn the needle-knife group, 9 cases were cured, 12 cases were markedly effective, 8 cases were effective and 1 case was failed; the total effective rate was 96.7% (29/30) and the cured and markedly effective rate was 70.0% (21/30). In the acupuncture-cupping group, 8 cases were cured, 9 cases were markedly effective, 11 cases were effective and 2 cases were failed; the total effective rate was 93.3% (28/30) and the cured and markedly effective rate was 56.7% (17/30). The difference of total effective rate in the two groups was not statistically significant (P > 0.05), but the cured and markedly effective rate of needle-knife group was significantly superior to that of acupuncture-cupping group (P < 0.05). The needle-knife therapy was significantly superior to acupuncture-cupping on improvement of neck stiffness in the follow-up of 1, 3, 6 months after treatment (P < 0.05, P < 0.001); both treatments were effective on relief of neck pain, but the needle-knife group had better effects in the follow-up of 3 and 6 months after treatment compared with acupuncture-cupping group (both P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONThe needle-knife therapy has better effects on neck stiffness and pain relief than acupuncture-cupping, and it is more treatment time saving.

2.Rho/Rho-Kinase Signaling Pathway and Ischemic Cerebrovascular Disease
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2008;16(5):375-379
Rho/Rho-kinase signaling pathway is a ubiquitous one in vivo.It plays a role of "molecular switch"by regulating the polymeric state of intracellular actin cytoskeleton, and participates in the regulation of various cellular functions.Rho/Rho-kinase signaling pathway plays an important role in the risk factors.pathogenesis and pathophysiological processes of ischemic cerebrovascular disease. The inhibition of Rho/Rho-kinase signaling pathway may achieve a significant neuroprotective effect.
3.The application of the light emitting diode in MR room lighting
Chinese Journal of Radiology 2009;43(10):1100-1101
Objective To investigate the application of white light emitting diode (LED) in magnetic resonance room, in order to resolve the damageable problem of incandescent lights under the high magnetic field. Methods The white LEDs and the incandescent lights were installed in MR room, the number of damaged lights was compared after 300 hours. Chi-square test was used for the statistical analysis. And the illuminance and 50 000 hours electricity consumption between LED and incandescent lights were calculated. Results The number of damaged LED and incandescent lights was 2 and 32, respectively and there was a significant difference (χ~2 =48.813 ,P =0.000). The illuminance of the LED and incandescent lights was 155 lx and 100 lX at the 0.75 m horizontal level and the 50 000 hours electricity consumption was 200 kW and 5000 kW, respectively. Conclusion It is feasible and a great advantage to use the white LEDs in MR room lighting.
4.Expression and significance of nuclear factor-kappa B and proliferating cell nuclear antigen in uterine cervix cancer tissues
Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2009;16(8):1353-1354
Objective To study the expression and significance of nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)and proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA)in uterine cervix cancer tissues. Methods The expression of NF-κB p65 and PCNA in the uterine cervix cancer tissues(n=45)and normal cervix tissues(n=30)were detected by immunohisto chemistry method. Results The expression rate of NF-κB p65 and PCNA in the uterine cervix cancer tissues were significantly higher than that in normal cervix tissues(P<0.05).The expression of NF-κB p65 and PCNA in stage Ⅰ b,Ⅱa were significantly higher than that in stageⅠ a(P<0.05),they were significantly higher in poorly differentiated than those in moderately differentiated,well-differentiated(P < 0.05),they were significantly higher in existing lymphnode metastasis than those in non-existing lymphnode metastasis(P <0.05);and the expression of NF-κB p65 was positively related to PCNA in uterine cervix cancer tissues(r=0.705,P<0.05).Conclusion The invasion, infestation and metastasis maybe dosely related to NF-κB and PCNA.
5.Acute lumbar sprain treated with massage combined with acupuncture at different distal acupoints: a randomized controlled trial.
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2015;35(5):453-457
OBJECTIVETo observe treatment efficacy of acupuncture at different distal acupoints for acute lumbar sprain after massage.
METHODSOne hundred and fifty patients with acute lumbar sprain were randomly divided into a Yaotongdian (Extra) group, a Houxi (SI 3) group, a Weizhong (BL 40) group, a Chengshan (BL 57) group and a Shuigou (GV 26) group, total 5 groups, 30 cases in each one. After the same massage treatment and based on groups divided, different distal acupoints above-mentioned were selected to be acupunctured. Visual analogue scale (VAS) scores, lumbar activity and treatment efficacy of patients in 5 groups were evaluated.
RESULTSWith acupuncture at distal acupoints after massage,VAS scores of patients in 5 groups were decreased compared with those after massage treatment (all P<0.05); lumbar activity was all obviously improved (all P<0.01); and cured and markedly effective rates were all increased in comparison with those after massage (all P<0.01). But among 5 groups the differences of VAS scores, lumbar activity and cured and markedly effective rates were not statistically significant(all P>0.05).
CONCLUSIONBased on massage treatment, acupuncture at distal acupoints could further improve the treatment efficacy for acute lumbar sprain, but there is no obvious effective difference among every distal acupoint. As long as choosing acupoints with lower pain threshold and stimulating enough, good efficacy could be acquired for acute lumbar sprain.

6.Standardized treatment of gastrointestinal stromal tumors
Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery 2011;10(6):405-408
Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) is a subset of mesenchymal tumors and represents the most common mesenchymal neoplasm of gastrointestinal tract. In the last decade,GISTs has become well known because of the effectiveness of imatinib mesylate. The molecular targets for tyrosine kinase receptor inhibitor are not only of importance for the treatment of patients but also useful for the development of a novel drug modalities and new strategies in basic cancer therapy. The improved understanding of the molecular mechanism of GISTs has made its diagnosis standardized. Many multicenter phase Ⅱor phase Ⅲ clinical trials have been completed to establish the role of adjuvant and neoadjuvant therapy. It is important to select the correct management strategy, which is multidisciplinary, integrated, and individualized. This paper provides an overview of the rational treatment of GISTs at present.
7.The effect of hyperuricemia on vascular complications of type 2 diabetes and the related-factors analysis
Chinese Journal of Diabetes 2006;14(3):182-184
Objective To evaluate the effect of hyperuricemia on vascular complications of type 2 diabetes and analysis of the possible mechanism. Methods 586 cases with T2DM were divided into two groups: normal serum uric acid (n=397) and hyperuricemia (n=189).The morbidity of macrovascular and microvascular complications and the serum levels of CRP,TNF,IL-1,IL-2,IL-6,IL-8 and PAI-1 were detected. Results (1)Hyperuricemia group showed higher BMI, blood pressure, TG,TC,LDL,WHR ratio and lower serum HDL-C than the group with normal uric acid (all P<0.05).(2)Group with hyperuricemia showed higher morbidities of macrovascular and microvascular complications than the group with normal uric acid (all P<0.05).(3) Group with hyperuricemia had higher levels of CRP,TNF,IL-6,IL-8,PAI-1 (all P<0.05). Conclusions (1) Hyperuricemia is associated with obesity and dyslipidemia.(2) Hyperuricemia may cause atherosclerosis by inflammation of vascular endothelium, resulting macrovascular and microvascular complications.

The results suggested that mobile population was the key point of malaria control in Nantong City, and the main control measures should put emphasis on epidemic situation supervision of mobile population and surveillance on febrile patients.
9.Treating Pidan from the Organ of the Spleen
Journal of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University 2014;(4):408-410
[Objective]This paper sums up professor Wang Xu's experience of differentiating and treating Pidan. [Methods]Through summarizing professor Wang Xu's experience of differentiating and treating principles of prediabetic state, final y we use a case to analyze the specialty of professor Wang Xu's differentiating and treating prediabetic state.[Results]When my teacher deals with the clinical symptoms, she always relegates prediabetic state to Pidan. She establishes the theory from the organ of spleen. In the therapy, she confirms the treatment through trading off among the phlegm, the turbid, the lipid and the stagnated blood. The major therapy is damaging the remaining pathogenesis, replenishing the deficiency, clearing the heat, removing the blood stasis, tradding off al kinds of factors. One sentence summing up is removing the pathological and physiological metabolites generating from the body. Also, she applies the traditional Chinese drugs flexibly which can strengthen the spleen, nourish ying, or adjust the blood according to the deficiency and heat which is more obvious. The most importantly, she suggests the theory that strengthening the spleen can prevent the procession of prediabetic state.[Conclusions] When professor Wang Xu deals with the clinical symptoms, she always relegates prediabetic state to Pidan. And she confirms the therapeutic principles rooting in the spleen. Most of al , the clinical therapeutic effect is notable.
