Abstract: Objective To investigate the molecular characteristics and drug resistance of non-O1/non-O139 Vibrio cholerae in Zhongshan City, and to provide laboratory basis for cholera prevention and control. Methods The strains of non-O1/non-O139 Vibrio cholerae isolated from sporadic patients and aquatic products from 2015 to 2021 in Zhongshan city were collected. The identification and cluster analysis of the strains were analyzed by matrix assisted laser desorption/ionization time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS), the ctxA virulence gene of strains were detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR, the cluster analysis of the strains was analyzed by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE), and the drug resistance of the strains were analyzed by microbroth dilution method. Results From 2015 to 2021, 33 strains of non-O1/non-O139 Vibrio cholerae were isolated from Zhongshan City, including 28 strains from sporadic patients and 5 strains from aquatic products. Through MALDI-TOF-MS identification, 33 strains of non-O1/non-O139 Vibrio cholera can be identified to the level of species, and the identification results were all Vibrio cholerae. Among 33 non-O1/non-O139 Vibrio cholerae strains, 1 strain carried the ctxA virulence gene. The drug-resistant strains accounted for 69.7% (23/33), and the multidrug resistant strains accounted for 18.2% (6/33). A total of 7 kinds of drug resistance spectrum were produced, including 3 kinds of multidrug resistant spectrum, and showed drug resistance to 8 antibiotics, among which the resistance rates to streptomycin, cefazolin and compound sulfamethoxazole were above 30%. The 33 strains of non-O1/non-O139 Vibrio cholerae were divided into 32 PFGE fingerprints with a similarity ranging from 61.7% to 100%. MALDI-TOF-MS cluster analysis divided 33 non-O1/non-O139 Vibrio cholerae strains into two clusters. Conclusions The results of molecular typing of non-O1/non-O139 Vibrio cholerae in Zhongshan City presented diversity, and no significant correlation was found between PFGE and MALDI-TOF-MS cluster analysis. The strains demonstrated various degrees of resistance to certain antibiotics, and there were multidrug-resistant and toxigenic strains. Therefore, it is necessary to alert to the harmfulness of non-O1/non-O139 Vibrio cholerae and enhance monitoring.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate diffusion tensor tractography (DTT) of white matter in prognosis of acute lacunar infarctions.
METHODSTwenty-eight patients of pyramidal tract strokes at the acute phase (<3 days) with a marked motor defect were examined. Lesions were identified on diffusion weighted imaging and isotropic imaging of DTI, and infarctions and the tract were shown on the DTT images simultaneously. The anatomic location and pattern of the lesions were visualized on DTT, with regard of the corticospinal tract (CST), all patients were divided into three clinical subgroups: in Group 1 infarction lesions were close to CST, in Group 2 CST was partial involved, in Group 3 lesions centered in the pyramidal tract. Subsequently, they were compared with the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) scores at acute phase (<3 days), early chronic phase (8 approximately 14 days), and outcome(30 approximately 60 days).
RESULTNIHSS scores of Group 1(12/28) were not different with those of Group 2 (11/28) at the acute phase (U=-1.430, P>0.05), and NIHSS scores in Group 2 were significantly lower than those of Group 3(5/28) (U= -2.676, P <0.01). In the outcome, NIHSS scores of Group 1 were significantly lower than those of Group 2 (U= -2.501, P<0.05), NIHSS scores of Group 2 were significantly lower than those of Group 3 (U= -2.948, P<0.01). Among these three groups,Group 1 all had good recovery, Group 2 also had good recovery but sometimes with some mild motor disfunction, and Group 3 always had marked defect and minor improvement. Both rADC value and rFA value were induced in the acute lacunar infarctions.
CONCLUSIONDTT is helpful in prognestic valuation of acute lacunar infarction by providing visualized stereo localization of CST and infarction lesions.

Journal of Zhejiang University. Science. B 2008;9(12):938-943
To understand genetic patterns of the morphological and physiological traits in flag leaf of barley, a double haploid (DH) population derived from the parents Yerong and Franklin was used to determine quantitative trait loci (QTL) controlling length, width, length/width, and chlorophyll content of flag leaves. A total of 9 QTLs showing significantly additive effect were detected in 8 intervals on 5 chromosomes. The variation of individual QTL ranged from 1.9% to 20.2%. For chlorophyll content expressed as SPAD value, 4 QTLs were identified on chromosomes 2H, 3H and 6H; for leaf length and width, 2 QTLs located on chromosomes 5H and 7H, and 2 QTLs located on chromosome 5H were detected; and for length/width, 1 QTL was detected on chromosome 7H. The identification of these QTLs associated with the properties of flag leaf is useful for barley improvement in breeding programs.

OBJECTIVETo investigate treatment methods and therapeutic effects of the diastasis of the symphysis pubis.
METHODSThirteen patients with diastasis of the symphysis pubis, including 7 male and 6 female, ranging in age from 20 to 54 years, were treated according to classification based on the pelvic stability. Five patients of type I were treated with conservative methods, five patients of type II were treated with external fixation, and three patients with type III were treated with posterior internal fixation combined with anterior external fixation.
RESULTSAll the patients were followed-up and the duration of the follow-up ranged from 4 to 62 months, with an average of 14 months. According to the reduction, pain, gait, limb length and movement of hip,the therapeutic effects were evaluated. There were 7 patients obtaining excellent results, 5 good, 1 fair, the excellent and good rate was 92.3%.
CONCLUSIONTreatment methods should be chosen in view of the differences of the patients with diastasis of the symphysis pubis. The external fixation has advantages of simple operation, decreased wound and stable fixation.

OBJECTIVETo explore the pathological mechanism in the repair of chronic spinal cord injury with free grafting of autoperipheral nerve tissues in rats.
METHODSThe SD rats were used to establish SCI model with modified Allen method. The rats were divided into two groups at 12 weeks after the injury, each group had 20 rats. In the experimental group, the sural nerves were removed epineurium and transplanted into SCI lesion by using microsurgical technique; and in the control group, the rats were treated without any operation. The survival and differentiation of the grafts, and the ability of repairing host spinal cord were observed under the light microscope at the postoperative 4th and 12th week. Regeneration rates of nerve tracts in spinal cord were evaluated by using HRP tracing technique at the postoperative 4th and 12th week. The morphological changes were observed at section of spinal cord and the motor functions of both hind legs of rats were detected.
RESULTSIn the control group, spinal cord exhibited degeneration with cicatrices and cavitates. In the experimental group, peripheral nerve was almost survived, fused with the spinal tissue and axons could regrow into or span the place of injured spinal cord. Higher number of labeled nerve tracts in spinal cord were observed in experimental group, there was significant difference when compared with the control group. Motor function of hind legs of rats recovered significantly in the treatment group.
CONCLUSIONAutoperipheral nerve graft tissues transplantation could survive and integrate with the host and have repairing effects on chronic spinal cord injury in rats.

OBJECTIVETo explore the mechanical behavior of lumbar spine loaded by stress and provide the mechanical basis for clinical analysis and judgement of lumbar spine fracture classification, mechanical distribution and static stress.
METHODSBy means of computer simulation method, the constructed lumbar spine three-dimensional model was introduced into three-dimensional finite element analysis by software Ansys 7.0. The lumbar spine mechanical behavior in different parts of the stress loading were calculated. Impact load is 0-8000 N. The peak value was 8000 N. The loading time is 0-40 minutes. The values of the main stress, stress distribution and the lumbar spine unit displacement in the direction of main stress were analyzed.
RESULTSThe lumbar spine model was divided into a total of 121 239 nodes, 112 491 units. It could objectively reflect the true anatomy of lumbar spine and its biomechanical behavior and obtain the end-plate images under different stress. The stress distribution on the lumbar intervertebral disc (L(3)-L(4)) under the axial, lateral flexion and extension stress, and the displacement trace of the corresponding processus articularis were analyzed.
CONCLUSIONIt is helpful to analyze the stress distribution of lumbar spine and units displacement in static stress loading in the clinical research of lumbar spine injury and the distribution of internal stress.

Chinese Journal of Pathology 2003;32(5):440-443
OBJECTIVETo investigate the expression of five kinds of cyclins in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and their association with degree of tumor differentiation, metastasis and infection of hepatitis B virus (HBV).
METHODSThe HCC tissue microarrays were composed of those from 273 cases of HCC tissues, 144 surrounding-tumor liver tissues and 10 normal liver tissues obtained from autopsy. The diameter of each specimens on tissue microarrays was 2.0 mm. Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of cyclin A, cyclin B, cyclin D1, cyclin D3 and cyclin E on HCC tissue microarrays. The association of the expression of these cyclins with the infection rate of HBV was also analyzed.
RESULTSThree paraffin-embedded HCC tissue microarrays were successfully constructed, including 136, 143 and 148 tissue spots, respectively. The positive rates of cyclins in 273 cases of HCC were cyclin A 52.7%, cyclin B 45.4%, cyclin D1 35.9%, cyclin D3 44.3% and cyclin E 23.1%; while the figures in 144 surrounding-tumor tissues were 8.3%, 5.6%, 4.9%, 6.3% and 1.4%, respectively. In 10 normal liver tissues these cyclins exhibited negative staining, with the exception that cyclin D1 was positive in one case of normal liver tissue. The positive rate of cyclins in HCC were significant higher than those in surrounding-tumor liver tissues (P < 0.01), in HCC tissues with histological grade II and III, the cyclins expression were stronger than that in grade I (P < 0.05). The positive rates of cyclins, except cyclin A in HCC with portal vein invasion were higher than those without portal vein invasion (P < 0.01). Infection of HBV did not have significant relationship with the expression of cyclins (P > 0.05).
CONCLUSIONCyclins in different cell cycles overexpressed at varied levels in hepatocellular carcinoma, and the increased expression of cyclins may shorten the tumor cell cycle phase, accelerate cell proliferation, and have a close relationship with HCC aggressiveness.
